Ch 12

Since my birthday I haven't been able to shake Alastor from my mind.

It's been a week and he's all I think about.

Suddenly, when he's around I feel hot. My stomach turns in knots.

Suddenly, I can barely speak when he's next to me.

Suddenly, I find myself daydreaming about him holding me at night...

But I can't say the words.

No I can't, I can't say the words...

I looked down at the little music box in my hands, and that feeling once again clenched at my heart.

I opened it, and looked at the intricate and delicate machine inside.

He gave me this...and trusts me to keep it safe. Something that belonged to his mother...

I closed it, and put it back in its place on my bookshelf.

Just then, I heard movement in my living room.

Then a knock on my bedroom door.

"Ariel? Are you in here? Are you decent?" Came the static laced voice, and I rolled my eyes with a soft smile.

Learned our lessen, have we?

"Yes, come in," I said and he opened the door, striding into my room.

He stopped wearing his suit around my apartment, and opts for t shirts and flannel pants instead. As if he could get any more attractive...

"Hello darling!" He boomed, and I flinched and giggled.

"Hello, someone is very loud today," I said and he took my hands in his, spinning me around and moving me like a rag doll.

I feel like a toy sometimes, but I don't mind. He's gentle, and it makes him happy.

"It's been quite the day, my dear! Hell is bustling, and everyone is off their rocker it seems!"

"Why's that?"

"Well, some territories are available, so that's a big one," he said, and I tilted my head.

Territory?

Whatever, I shrugged and he pulled me close to him, pressing his nose up against mine.

"Yet I've still been so bored! My, I don't know why I ever leave this place!"

I pushed my nose against his gently, rubbing back and forth before pulling away.

"Maybe because you're a demon who draws his power from hell?" I said and he leaned back, mocking a thinking expression.

"Perhaps!"

His hand on my waist sent a shock through my bones, and I blushed heavily. Before he could notice, I panicked and pushed him onto the bed.

He was caught off guard and fell back easily.

I once again panicked, realizing he'd be curious as to why I pushed him, and I pounced on him.

I straddled him and pinned his wrists, quickly thinking of something to cover up my strange actions, "see? You're already getting weaker," I said smugly, hiding my panic.

But I wasn't thinking about the consequences my words might bring.

His eyelids lowered, his eyes glowing a deep red. His smile widened and my smug expression slowly turned nervous.

In an instant he flipped us, and he was growling above me, all I could see were his glowing red eyes as they slowly turned to radio dials.

"Now, now, darling choose your words more carefully...challenging an overlord? My, how foolish," his tone was laced with static, but it was light.

Playful.

This awoke a playful feeling in me, one that I hadn't felt in a long time. I smirked, and slipped out from under him, using my size to my advantage.

I scurried away, giggling. Without another thought I threw my door open, and glanced back at my bed.

My eyes widened.

Where'd he go?

I stood in my doorway, then turned in circles. The hair on my arms stood up, and the sound of static seemed to steadily grow around me.

I spun around, stepping back into my room, looking every direction.

He wasn't anywhere, but I could feel him, he's still here.

"A-Alastor?" I called out, and then my blood ran cold as a low chuckle bounced around my room.

My lamp flickered, and his voice came from above me, "my my my...darling you've looked everywhere..."

Slowly I tilted my head up, and just as I finally saw him, somehow stuck to the ceiling above me, the lights went out.

"But up."

His eyes were the only thing I could see before they flickered out as well and I felt fear and excitement in my chest.

I felt like a little kid playing tag.

I was smiling, and trying to see if I could find him in the dark, until I squealed when arms captured my waist and lifted me up.

My lights flickered back on and Alastor's low growl behind me mixed with a deep chuckle.

I kicked my feet and pushed against his arms, but it was useless, he had me.

I giggled, and tried to free myself.

"Oh no! It seems I've caught you, darling...my, I am a bit hungry," he fell back onto my bed, laying on his back with my back against his chest.

He buried his face into my neck, and pretended to bite me. I squealed again and my entire body seized as I laughed hysterically. His teeth were tickling me, and I could barely breathe.

"Stop! Stop!" I giggled and he chuckled,

"But you questioned my power! Now I've got to show you..." he flipped us, and pinned my wrists above my head.

I gasped softly from the sudden change, and looked at his deep red eyes.

"Who's in charge."

I was catching my breath from laughing, and he purred softly and switched hands so that his left hand was holding my wrists, and his right hand was free.

"Alright, dear, what to do with you..." he thought aloud, and I tilted my head.

He then leaned down, close to my face. I pushed further into the bed, but relaxed and watched in amazement as his figure slowly changed from demon to human.

He never once lost that perfect smile.

He held up his hand, "now I can do this without cutting you!" He said happily, and I began to squirm.

"No!" I giggled but he wasn't listening.

He began to tickle my side, and I writhed beneath him, trying desperately to escape the assault.

I tried to use my feet to push him off but he attacked those too.

"M-mercy! Mercy!" I said between giggles, and he hummed.

"I'm not sure I believe in that word...but...I suppose I'm feeling generous," he said casually and stopped tickling me.

He was just above me now, holding my wrists above my head. He had his other hand against my waist, just resting there. His legs were on either side of me.

His brown eyes met mine for a moment, before they slowly faded into red. He was still human, but he dropped whatever illusion was making his eyes brown.

I blinked slowly, catching my breath. My chest rose and fell heavily, and a small giggle left my lips from the aftershock.

His eyes looked soft as he looked down at me, and I didn't even notice how close he was. He was leaning down, and I watched his eyes nearly close. He was hovering right above my lips, I could feel his heat he was so close to me.

My breath caught in my throat, but as quickly as it started it stopped.

He was off me faster than I could blink. He quickly turned back into his demonic form.

I blinked, and looked at him.

"Alastor...?"

He was facing away from me, and looked over his shoulder.

Suddenly he spun around, his big smile plastered on his face.

"I'm starved! How about I serve us dinner, hm? I'll make venison," he chirped, and walked out of my room.

I watched him, a faint heat on my face. I gently touched my lips.

Was he about to...?

That can't be right...maybe...no.
