You know after talking to him about the date and playing the superior role for the first time, I didn't expect him to bang at my door at 2 a.m. I almost peed myself from the sudden noise as I ran out of the room to see Matt opening the door.

It happened in a flash that I see Ryder's eyes met mine and Matt was pushing him against the wall with a tight hold on his neck. Luckily, Luke was a deep sleeper and it takes a grenade inside his room to wake him up, there was enough time for me to pluck Matt off Ryder.

"What the hell? Stop it Matt", I yelled standing in between the boys. The heat from their bodies were killing and I was still in the zone where I could kill anyone for waking me up.

I turned towards Ryder, who had the tag of my primary target.

"What are you doing here?", I asked with a scrunched eyebrows.  He better tell me a valid reason. He was about to say something when Matt stepped again. I held him by the waist still keeping my eyes on Ryder.

"What do you want Ryder?". I was gonna count to ten and if he decided to play mute then I was unleashing the Matt onto him.

"I wanna talk to you"

"Now is not the time. We can talk in the morning. Leave.", I grunted trying to push Matt inside. Damn, he was rock.

"I had an attack".

We both stilled. I looked up to see Matt looking at Ryder with a shocked expression. I never uttered a word to anyone regarding this but I could see wheels changing in Matt's eyes with the mention of attack.

I successfully pushed him inside and promised that I'll be okay and closed the door.

I turned around and walked to the elevator with Ryder following me behind. I didn't know when it happened to be like this but I didn't expect to be the person he turned to after his attack. I was not even sure if that's what I wanted.

We stayed silent until the ground floor while I tried to clear my mind.

The pool area was quite warm than outside not to mention a little creepy if you come at this time of night.

Suddenly, Ryder pulled me towards him and kept his tight hold around my waist and nuzzled his face into my neck. I couldn't move partially due to his strength but also I was shocked. It was like he flipped a switch from an asshole to this. Sweet.

"What are you doing?", I asked only to met with him moving into my neck more giving the sensations that he shouldn't. I wished I hadn't washed my hair. He would've passed out by now.

The thought made me giggle.

He pulled out of the embrace and eyed me. I just shrugged.

"You are really pretty when you smile like that", I couldn't hold the blush sneaking up my cheeks but I kept my gaze strong.

"Like what?"

"Like you just have done something great or when you have those naughty thoughts"

I widened my eyes at his accurate description of my thoughts.

"You are so bad at guessing", I dismissed sitting at one of the pool chairs. The familiar cocky look took over his features.

"Babe, I am never wrong", he wasn't wrong but I wasn't gonna accept that. Duh. 

 I never realized arguing with Ryder had become my habit. Everytime we met, we argued. Regardless of the place or time. You could ask me why and I ask those myself but there wasn't no answer. He was making me to argue with him. It was a like the vile one where I hated to see him but the modest one, more on a childish side.

We were sat at the pool at the complete silence. I saw like half a movie eyes closed, missed a few part from my memory but dude rewatching the movie was actually fun. My thoughts started going random at one point. I wanted to jump on Ryder who was sleeping in the pool bench next to me, also I felt hungry. And then when I was looking around and I wished someone walk in and see me standing in front of them and pee their pants. I also wanted to throw Ryder into the pool but he was Bison that I couldn't lift.

Okay, I am running out of thoughts. 

I stood up. I contemplated about leaving this sleeping idiot here and let him rot in this pool area but when I looked down, I saw my empathetical heart that wouldn't leave a person alone. So, I shook him slowly which  had no effect on him. Who was I kidding? I was afraid to go alone in the dark. Too many scenarios in my mind screwed me.

 Luke and Ryder will make good pair.

I cringed at the image of Luke and Ryder kissing her. Ew.  That was uncalled for. I really needed to cleanse my brain from these thoughts.

"Ryder", I was left with no option but to wake him up the hard way. I slowly picked his index finger and stuck into his nose with force that had him jumping with a loud grunt.

"What the fuck?", he shrieked as I stood there with a proud grin. I immediately dropped the smile when he turned to me.

"What? You weren't waking up", I shrugged.

"You should've shook me or called me. I am a light sleeper. You just don't have to plant my finger into my nose"

I snorted. He really needed a reality check. 

We both shuddered at the cold air. I stealthily moved to other side of Ryder where he had to take all the wind coming to me.

"I can't feel my right hand", he said frivolously rubbing it when we went for the coffee machine in the gym. It was five in the morning and some twisted twigs were working out this early. 

"Your mistake", as I took the hot cup from his hand. My eyes almost rolled back from the pleasure the warm liquid provided.

"You remind me of someone", he said with a thoughtful look. I could feel the shift in him.

"She better be witty as me". He laughed shaking his head like 'you're impossible'.

"She was"

"How did you meet her?". I knew he was struggling with opening up with anyone and I was definitely crossing the line talking about his ex-girlfriend but he didn't mind.

"High school", he started looking no where at particular.

"Let me guess", that piqued his interest as he averted his eyes to me. I am not sure why blushed but the look he was giving me made me to. His shameless gaze travelled all over, from lips to my breast and to my lips.

"Prom queen and king. Everyone was jealous of you guys. You were inseparable from her and she was beautiful as fuck. You were the little spoon", I cocked my eyebrows at his surprised expression.

"How did you?"

"Anyone could guess. I mean you are not as hot as Connor but you look good yourself and there is no wonder you are the prom king and some bird told me that your girlfriend looked like a goddess. The fact that you cannot get over her shows how much you were into her and obviously it makes other people jealous if they see someone happy"

My heart rate started to pick up those eyes, where couldn't decide to kiss me or hug me. He was a good actor with a very sentimental fool inside. He turned away looking into the gym and I couldn't miss the rapid eye beats. I felt a small pang in me. She must've been the luckiest one to have Ryder head over heels. Not everyone gets that as there were many who cheat and abuse their loved ones.

"It was just sudden, you know", he talked suddenly. I kept my mouth shut because I couldn't stand in his shoes. It would've devastated me and I was no strong person to endure such a pain.

"We were friends before started dating. It felt right to be with her. She was beautiful and smart and I was quite shocked when she fell for me. I was nothing compared to her. Everyone wanted her and I couldn't measure my happiness when I was with her. She made me feel special and loved and made me feel things that I haven't felt. Everything was perfect. We started college...and just..."

I scooted closer and placed my hands on his shoulders. 

"I never thought I would lose two important person on one night"

There was that terrible dread that filled me when he mentioned two. He lost two person he loved. He continued before I spoke.

"It was raining. She called me and told me the news. I was expecting her in my arms but not dead". I didn't realize until my vision blurred. He wasn't crying but I could see his heart break all over again.

"Two?", I whispered too unsure to ask. He took a weak breathe and turned to look dead in my eyes.

"She was pregnant"
