Tears from a Splintered Body
Remember me, my friend? The one who tolerated your bullying, the one who smiled through the pain, the one who stood up to you at the very end...I thought you wouldn't remember.
I felt meaningless, thrown aside and broken. After all, I did have a broken soul, a shattered heart, and a worn out brain. And then, when I bumped into you, I thought you would help me through my troubles, with your soft brown eyes and kind smile. But your eyes soon turned cold, and your smile twisted into a wicked grin.
You stomped on me, squashed me, and pushed me to the ground. But, this time, it wasn't on my already dead soul, nor my heart, nor my brain. It was on my body. And my body, being the weak, fragile self that it is, cracked under the pressure.
And that was only the first time. It went on and on, with you wearing down my body. It splintered, almost falling apart, and I knew that I had to do something. But every time I came near you, with evil on my mind, you would turn to me and smile the wicked grin that I had come to fear.
And every time, I turned away, too scared to exact my revenge. So, the bullying continued, but this time, you did not get a reaction from me. I would say that I was trying to agitate you, but the truth is, I was too tired to reply. I felt my bones getting weaker, my body almost gone.
But, miraculously, you stopped. You reached out to me, and offered to mend me. And that was the first and last time I had any hope. Yes, you mended me, but our friendship turned into something much more.
And when I proclaimed my feelings for you, I saw that cold look in your eyes, and you scolded me. You scolded me for being such a troublesome person. You scolded me for hating the people who broke me.
And that, that was my breaking point. All I remember was running away, far away from people like you. Now I'm here.
I feel myself fading fast, even more so now that I've lost hope. This will be my last letter, so let it be known that once my body is found, take a good look at it. What you find may be surprising.
Goodbye--
