After the events of making SMG4 sane again and the re-introduction of Desti, you invited yourself to Shroomys birthday that Mario planned for supervision purposes. When Tari asked what she should do you thought about it and had an epiphany.

"Why not try to make friends with Desti? Catch her up on what shes missed about Meggy?" You offer to which she thinks and nods.

"I'll try my best!" she said throwing a thumbs up. You kiss her cheek and head off to the party. Tari went and looked for Desti, which wasn't so hard since she hadn't left the castle.

"Hey Desti, how are you holding up?" Tari asked sitting beside her. She jumped a bit but calmed down enough to respond.

"I'm ok. Just thinking about what I missed with Meggy since Certain events." she said holding her knees up to her chin.

"Funny, i was going to offer telling you exactly that." Tari said with a smile making the halfling perk up.

"You'd do that for me?" she asked the bluenette bewildered at the thought that she would ever hear about anything.

"Of course! Is there anything you want me in particular to go over? Meggy did mutter about seeing your spirit after splatfest." Tari asked wondering if Meggy saw Desti to make herself feel better.

"Oh no, I remember all the things leading up to that... it was what held me back, her worry." Desti said "The day you got bullied was an interesting one to say the least." She said remebering how that day went down.

"Oh jeez i couldn't imagine what Y/n would have done if he was there." Tari said looking slightly horrified. (En: yeah I think i could paint a picture for you, imagine the movie taken, and take out the kidnapping and blackmailing plot.)

"Speaking of, when did he show up?" the halfling asked.

He showed up a year ago, his brother if hes right a little over 6 years at this point, and his friend was about the time Meggy went on vacation about two months ago, which I'll get to." Tari explained holding a finger up at the last one seeing how Desti was starting to react. The halfling harrumphed but let her explain the adventures after the Splatfest.

Tari explained it all from Meggys move into her house now hotel, to her multiple attempts at getting jobs to pay for said house now hotel, to the events that led up to SMG3 trying to take over and where Y/n joined the narrative, finishing off with the last adventures before heading off to her vacation in Port Aroura.

"A ticket for the boat ride to that place is SUPER expensive! you all managed to pool the money for it?" The halfling asked incredulously.

"Pretty much." Tari said rubbing the back of her neck.

"Does she seem to be happier?" The halfling asked.

"Shes been depressed before she left and we hope this will ease up the severity of it." Tari explained as you Mario and shroomy burst in through the door. Shroomy and Mario walking past far before you did.

You looked ragged as you walked into the part of the castle the girls were. "So how'd it go between you two?"

"Pretty good. What happened at the party, did Mario go overboard?" Tari asked.

"No actually, for the most part he was, at least comparative to most adventures, behaving himself." You say shocking both girls.

"So the Mushroom sabotaged it?" Desti asked.

"Not really, you see his uncle was being kind of a dick, ignoring his nephew for his new niece. However his aunt is scary but a sweetheart to her nephew, and hates her niece." you explain without going into all the family politics.

"Ooooh, that relationship isn't going to last is it?" Tari asked sadly.

"Probably not... but it seemed like she would try and stay for shroomy. oh and we have extended invitations to her to visit him with a heads up so we can warn everyone about her visitation." you explained before passing out due to exhaustion.
