Awaking the Slumbering Knight
Brunhilde and the kittens were in the waiting room with worried expressions on their faces. Mostly from Brunhilde and Akemi since Aura was sleeping due to the late hour, it was for the best that she was asleep right now.
"Dad is gonna be okay, ma. He has taken much worse than some spell." Akemi comforted his mother, as her knew that things were not as bad as they seemed
" Son, this is no ordinary sleep spell. That kid may have been some villian s pawn but that sleep was much more advanced than I ever seen" Her voice quiet unlike her usual self
She exhaled as she wished she had noticed the child much sooner, Atlas did and like always he protected them. Only to be hit with a sleep that still plagued him. At least he was only sleeping and nothing else. Though normal sleep spell last only a few hours, the longest they can ever last is a single day. Atlas had been asleep more then ten days now. Brunhilde called her sister, Yasu if she could undo the spell but she was with her husband on an important mission. The only thing she could think of was to bring him to the hospital. Hoping the doctors can find some way to wake him up.
"I am sure that Dad will be fine. After all, he promised you that he keep you safe forever as long as he lived right? Not to mention he vowed to make your anniversary the best this year." Akemi smiled
" Have you been eavesdropping on our conversations, Akemi? That is not very polite! We will be having a talk about this" Brunhilde shot a slight glare at her son
"In my defense, I was doing my studies close by and my headphones don't always tune you two out. I didn't mean to. Plus Aura was asked to make you both a new outfit for that special day" He knew what he did was wrong but it was an accident.
"Well, I will let it pass for now but you will be having a talk with me later!" Brunhilde was not ready to let this topic go that easy.
" Fair" He nodded
Brunhilde and Akemi waited a bit more before visiting Atlas room. He was still asleep with no sighs of waking up any time soon. He appeared in a relax state, possibly an effect caused by the spell. Akemi could sense that his mother wanted some time with his father, so he made up an excuse to give them that. Now only Brunhilde and her husband were alone together in the hospital room with the some beeps of the machines to stop any silence.
"Atlas....Why did you have to always protect me? I can take care of myself! You can be so irritating when you do this kind of stuff! You may be known the "Protective Shield", but I am your wife.....I want to be able to protect you too. You already lost an eye to keep me safe.....please don't let stupid spell keep you down..." She stroke his ears softly and was waiting for a reaction
This whole thing reminded her of a story that Atlas told the kids. There was a knight that would face many dangers for his beloved queen. He would save her from great evil to keep her safe and always protected her from all harm. One day, a sorceress casted a spell on him to get him to fall into a deep slumber. The queen tried everything to awaken her knight but to no avail. Finally she kissed the knight to try and break the spell and he finally opened his eyes. The two were reunited and lived happily ever after.
Brunhilde thought for a moment as it seem like the scenes of that very story were happening in reality. Could this story be telling her the cure for this spell? She sighed as she had no more options and thought she might as well tried it. She lean in close to Atlas face and kissed him on the lips. After a while, their lips parted and she waited for his reaction.
Atlas eye opened as he slowly sat up. "Hilde? I see you awoken your dearest knight. Our that kiss was the best early anniversary gift I could ever receive from you." He flirted "May I ask for another my dear"
" .....Go back to sleep" Brunhilde was happy that Atlas was awake but was annoyed on his reaction.
"Awww, my dearest Lady Knight wants to awaken me with another kiss. I may hold you to that" He winked at her
"I am going home with the kids! Get there by yourself!" She stormed off angrily
Atlas smiled as he was happy to be back. All thanks to his lovely wife,Brunhilde Mao.
