The Dragon and The Man

Stabbing the last enderman through the torso with her diamond sword, Cassia paused to take a breath. She had been killing Endermen since sunset, something she needed to take out her anger. However, the mass killing had a purpose as well, for she needed ender pearls. 12 to be exact.

Aside from one detour into the woods, for a certain reason, she had stayed mainly out in the plains area. There was quite a few mobs out and about, but she wasn't interested in the others.

Parkouring to a treetop, Cassia sat down on the edge and checked her inventory. She had 13 pearls, so she had an extra in case she needed a quick get away if her power was somehow disabled.

She combined the ender pearls and the blaze powder, which she had collected earlier from her old house, and created 12 Eyes of Ender. Tossing one into the air, she followed its path along the sky. She set out for the portal, following the Eyes of Ender.

~a few hours later~

She had finally made it to the stronghold, and she stood at the bottom of the End portal platform.
Climbing the 3 steps to the top, she then carefully placed the Eyes of Ender into their respective slots. She took a step back as the last one was placed, and watched the portal shimmer into existence. The shimmering light within the bottomless darkness gave off a faint glow, seemingly drawing any surrounding light into the void.

Cassia hesitated at the edge of the portal for a few long minutes. She had made it this far, yet she still hung back out of fear. The small voice in the back of her mind told her not to go in, but at the same time her rage, focused on Herobrine and Skybrine, demanded she go. "I won't learn the truth if I don't go." she whispered quietly to herself.

Taking a deep breath, she jumped.

~in the End~

Landing on the obsidian platform, she immediately straightened upright and looked around. The platform was some way away from the main End island, and high enough up that she could see the basic layout of the End. Endermen covered the ground, protective of the healing crystals atop the black towers. A faint roar echoed off the towers, indicating that the dragon was close by.

Flying up to the tallest obsidian tower, one that had a cage around the crystal, she balanced on top of the cage bars. "Come and face me you coward!" she yelled defiantly. Her yells drew the Endermen closer, a swarm starting to form around the base of the tower. A few brave ones attempted to teleport up to where she was, only to be knocked back off by her sword.

"Is that all you got?!" she screamed, furious the dragon wouldn't come down to face her. Cassia growled as her yell got no response, and began breaking the cage bars. If nothing else would bring the dragon, breaking the healing crystals would. When she had made it into the cage, she stood with one hand, which had a massive fireball nestled in the palm, pointed toward the crystal. "Last chance before I destroy your crystals, dragon !"

Still getting no response except the sound of the Enderman getting angrier, she shot the fire ball at the crystal. It shattered almost immediately, but the resulting blast flung her against the bars of the cage, effectively driving the breath out of her and causing her head to ring. She blinked, trying to clear the spots from her eyes, but they only grew bigger, darkening her vision.

The final thing she knew before passing out was the soft beat of wings, and the brush of fabric against her as she was picked up by an unknown entity.

~At Yoi's House~

The next day, Clancy woke with a start, the feeling of danger prickling at the back of her mind. Getting out of bed quickly, she went downstairs into the living room, following the murmur of voices. What she saw however, was not what she had been expecting.

Yoi sat on Skybrine's lap with a small smile on her face, something that was rare for the meek child. The two appeared to be talking, but since they spoke in low voices it was difficult to make out. However when Clancy stepped into the room, they both fell silent. Exchanging a glance with Yoi, Skybrine smiled and then stood up, facing Clancy.

"Thank you for fixing me up Clancy, is there anything I can do to repay your kindness?" He asked in a smooth tone, only his eyes betraying the fear that she would kick him out, separating him from Yoi once again.

She narrowed her eyes at him, clearly debating the very thing he feared. "After we have a talk we can decide what we'll do with you. You, come with me. Yoi, stay here." She walked out of the room with Skybrine following closely behind her. Once they had gotten far enough away that Yoi couldn't hear them, she rounded on Skybrine, rage clear in her face. "Who the hell did you piss off this time Sky?" she hissed.

He sighed, not wanting to talk about it. "Even if i told you, you wouldn't believe me."

     "Try me."

"Cassia. Happy now? She found me in the woods as I was on my way here, and after what I did to her I'm not surprised at what her choice of action was." He said regretfully, the pain clear in his eyes.  Averting his gaze from her steely glare, he instead looked down at his bare feet. "I know I shouldn't have come here, but I had to see Yoi one more time before anything happened to her..."

"Happened to her?! HAPPENED TO HER?! The only reason she's EVER been in danger is BECAUSE of you! How the hell do you expect me to believe that you're trying to protect her when you're the danger here?!" Clancy's voice had grown sharper, acquiring a biting edge to it as she faced the man who had put Yoi and James through hell and back.

He was silent for a few long minutes, knowing that what she said had been true in the past. "That was before. Now that Cassia is being forced to accept her birthright, I fear she'll be the very thing that will hurt Yoi." He answered hoarsely, forcing herself to meet Clancy's eyes. "I can't lose either of them." He added quietly.

Clancy glared at him, still angry that this was his fault. "You caused all of this, and yet you expect ME to have to deal with it! You were the reason Yoi and James were separated, you were the one that took Cassia away from Yoi, you are the reason Yoi is in danger now!" She folded her arms across her chest, clearly on the edge of kicking him out or just flat out exploding at him.

"...I know." He answered quietly. "I know all of that already. But you know why i had to do it, you know what could have happened if I hadn't done everything I did." He took a deep breath, knowing that the next thing out of his mouth could be the very thing that makes or breaks his chances of staying.

"You owe me your life for what I did for you, remember?"

Anyways, feel free to ask questions down in the comments below, and I'll see how much I can frustrate you with my answers xD.

Until next time,
