Once the beautiful white snow on the ground was being tainted by the scatters of blood. The buildings that were built ever since the beginning was being destroyed during multiple fights. It was as if it was switched when the former pro heroes had left to investigate what triggered the alarm while doing area checks around the base to see if there were any cracks on the barriers.

The light-haired blonde with blood scatter on his cheek, matching his hands that were covered in blood that wasn't his own. It wouldn't be the first time he had killed someone in the name of defending his friends. It doesn't make it easier remembering the first time he had to at the very beginning apocalypse.

The 17-year-old Bakugou Katsuki immediately scatters off the unmoving body and falls on his butt. His ruddy red eyes landed on his hands and his palms were trembling while engulfed with red liquid from the dead body beside him. His eyes were moving between the death-ending injury upon the dead body and his hands.

He did that.

He killed someone.

Before he could even start hyperventilating, the loud smack against his cheeks snaps him out of his thoughts to bring his focus upon the worried (eye color) eyes staring at him.

"You didn't have a choice. He would have killed both of us." The tearful eyes stare back into his eyes, as he takes in the shape you are. You were already in tough shape even more than previously. You were still recovering from the stunt you pulled days before the separation from everyone else. You bruised your whole body beyond its limits as a consequence of using your quirk.

"You saved me." You caress his cheeks, wiping away the tears that were running down his cheeks. He couldn't lose more people than he already has.

He doesn't even know if his friends, even make out alive during the wave of the undead that came out of nowhere. The reason why he wasn't alone was that he was already carrying you on his back while they wandered to the address of the safe haven with a compass.

The anger, the fear, the loss, along with everything else. It was now starting to catch up to him and breaks down into tears.

When he had thought, he had lost a lot of people who he cared about without admitting it to anyone. He recovered most of them, but you did kill one of his closest friends.

He did lose someone at the hands of you and killed him with no hesitation or remorse. Kaminari still has nightmares about it along with Mina. They all have nightmares because you murder their friend, their classmate with no mercy.

However, the sight in front of him reminded him of when one of the local mafia gangs found their little reunion spot where all students that were enrolled in schools such as U.A, Shiketsu, Ketsubutsu, and Sejin high schools. It was in all courses such as general, support, and business. It was a complete disaster making everyone run in different directions. It was the very first week of the apocalypse.

The sound that made everyone stop in their tracks was a shrieking mixture of a roar. Bakugou immediately looks up to see an enormous dragon-looking thing diving down similar to an eagle grabbing onto its prey with its sharp claws. It was going in the direction of the crowd.

Without warning, Bakugou gets pushed onto the ground by someone which was repeated by other people who were trying to protect the citizens from harm's way. Within seconds, the dragon looked like he was grabbing onto a bunch of people and stabbing them with its sharp talons taking them to the sky. A group of seven people jumped off of the dragon user immediately leaping into action.

"It's Glitch! Run away!"

Bakugou jumps to his feet to see him run past him, someone he has never seen at the base. They start putting out fires on the buildings that were destroyed in the chaos. A water quirk user, it seems.

He returned his sight back to the crowd to see people standing still while others were running away from the squad that arrived. It seemed they knew they weren't in danger regardless of your reputation. He watched how the people who arrived on the dragon were ignoring the injured citizens along with purposely ignoring his classmates who were ready to attack in defense but they just ran past them. It caused confusion rightfully so.

The fifteen-year-old who showed them around the base appears beside Bakugou to explain the situation. "They are ordered to not harm anyone who is innocent, as long as you guys don't get in the way of their jobs. They have a target list to prevent confusion. Those people running away with their tails tucked between their tails. They already know they have a death sentence."

Speedy points at the crowd that was running away to only be taken down one by one. It was a clear induction no one is escaping from the base alive. There is an unanswered question in his mind and asks the teenager who seems to know more information than anyone else.

"They broke three clear rules that Glitch asked them to when she brought them to you guys. No one can purposely harm anyone on the base with ill intentions. No one can share information about the base, the very same one that was destroyed a few days ago. No one can share any sort of intel. There are a bunch of rules, but those three are the most important ones that will cause Glitch to show herself physically. Glitch doesn't do well with traitors." Speedy honestly answers his questions, hoping to keep him out of trouble and putting himself in danger.

Bakugo scoffs at the word "traitors" when you were clearly the one who backstabbed them in the back.

"However, if Glitch brought him." Speedy points at the sky where the dragon keeps driving down, taking the traitors from the ground and eating them. "It usually indicates these traitors had the intention of kidnapping someone that would be considered high value in the outside world. Do you know anyone who would have a dangerous, powerful quirk?"

The braided light-haired girl with a flower crown on top of her head, smiling brightly showing off her accessory to everyone came to mind immediately. The red eyes are filled with curiosity about the world around them regardless of the state of the world. She wanted to learn more and appreciate the little things.

Eri.

Before he could even react, there was loud rumbling underneath his feet along with the trembling, earning cracks in the ground. It made everyone lose their balance and fall to the ground due to the instability.

The once clear white sky has scattered black smoke directed to the other side of the base where trees are falling over. The side of the mountain was completely destroyed, which created a landslide with uneven rocks having fallen down.

The infamous criminal who had lost their arms due to Shigaraki years prior with a broken ego and will. His gold eyes shine with pure fury within clashing purple eyes clearly showing pure malevolence matching insane smiles.

Chisaki Kai stands in front of you protectively against this foe and the remaining one is breathing, clearly alive. Regardless of the number of stab wounds and deathly injuries inflicted on them, they aren't acting like normal people.

You were behind him barely hanging onto life while this quirk was rapidly spreading through your body. You were already struggling to breathe, feeling your lungs barely expanding. Your whole body was on fire as your skin was turning into a darker color with smoke emitting from it.

Thankfully, it isn't contagious, because you are using your own body as a shield to protect the unconscious child in your arms. Overhaul made it on time because you couldn't be on defense anymore. Every time you activate your quirk, the poison spreads even faster. You had taken out the weaker links. You had accomplished stealing Eri from them and were under the impression this foe who is still kicking and breathing dead. The foe touches your skin, which immediately starts imprinting this dark color. At first, it didn't hurt, but over time and using your quirk. You felt like you were running with fever along with deathly fatigue. You wanted to close your eyes so badly, but the fear of what could happen to Eri keeps you from doing so.

Overhaul has been protecting himself along with the two of you. He wasn't the same person years prior. He was on your side, wanting to keep Eri safe. You knew he intended to make the landslide by manipulating the ground on the side of the mountain. It should be enough to alert anyone to help because this dude isn't dying.

As Overhaul and foe were fighting each other, the big three arrived at the scene to only be taken back. Mirio was stuck at one spot while the other two immediately rushed over to you and Eri. His blue eyes were staring exactly at Overhaul's arms, which was the last time he heard. Overhaul loses his arms, but clearly, he has them, and aren't artificial.

So many unanswered questions....

"P-please d-d-on't h-hurt Kai." It took all your strength to get the words out of your mouth.

_______________

Let me know your thoughts on this chapter, I really struggled with how I wanted to write this chapter. What are your thoughts on Overhaul actually wanting to help Eri? Do you think he changed over the course of the apocalypse? Do you think Overhaul has a close relationship with MC? Let me know! I would love to see it.
