41: The Box
"Slow down, Zuko, it isn't a race." Mai rolled her eyes as she laid on her posh bed.
Zuko puffed a small wisp of fire from his nostrils.
"I know it's not." He grunted as he forced himself to thrust more slowly. "I was just getting into it. Sorry."
"Whatever." Mai laid there looking up at Zuko as he tried to maintain his own pleasure and not be brought down by his moody girlfriend.
After a few more thrusts, he pulled out to finish in the rudimentary barrier that had become more popular in the Fire Nation as of late. He trusted it partially, but he always tried to remove himself, just in case.
As he removed the contraption from his body, he laid next to Mai and propped his head up.
"How was that?" He asked, feeling decently proud of himself for no particular reason.
"It was good." Mai responded without emotion, causing Zuko to frown instantly. Why couldn't she be more evident about her emotions? He always would have preferred someone who wore their emotions on their sleeve like you had.
"You're not just saying that because of who I am, right?" He looked her in the eyes.
"I don't care who you are, besides that you're my boyfriend." She reached over for a kiss. "And I get you all to myself."
As his lips pressed into hers, his mind flashed back to when that wasn't quite the case. Immediately he pulled back, trying to shake his head to get the thought of you out of it.
"What's wrong, Zuko?" Mai asked, concerned.
"Nothing. Just a little lightheaded, that's all."
Meanwhile, you and the rest of the gang were venturing around Hama's Inn. After you had found a bunch of puppets in a closet, you and Sokka both were adamant about exploring further. As Sokka tried the door, you kept a look out and Katara scolded you both.
"Then, why does she keep a locked door up here?" He questioned.
"Probably to keep people like you two from snooping around her stuff!" Katara gave the correct answer.
"We'll see." Sokka peered into the keyhole. "It's empty except for a little chest."
"Maybe it's treasure!" Toph cheered as the rest of you gave her a disappointed look. It was a good thing that she couldn't see. Sokka then took out his sword and began prying in the lock.
"Sokka, what are you doing?! You're going to get us caught breaking into a private room!" Katara continued to scold him.
"I have to see what's in there!" He stated excitedly.
"Me too!" You added on as the door popped open.
Without hesitation, everyone walked into the room towards the box.
"We shouldn't be doing this." Aang confirmed as Sokka picked up the mysterious box and jiggled the lock.
"Maybe there's a key in here somewhere..." He looked around.
"Oh! Hand it over!" Toph exclaimed as she held her hand out. After he handed the box to her, she removed her metal armband and bent it into a key shape.
"Come on, come on!" Sokka hurried her while she inserted the key.
"Aw, I'm so excited!" You whisper-yelled.
"This isn't as easy as it looks." Toph gritted her teeth while Katara hovered over her shoulders. It seemed that everyone in the group wanted to know Hama's secret.
"Guys, I don't know about this!" Aang said nervously.
"This is crazy. I'm leaving!" Katara stormed away.
"Suit yourself. Do it Toph!" Sokka encouraged.
But as soon as Toph's thumb went up, everyone was smashed in front of the box. Then, it was opened.
