I get use to the sight of my once beautiful city, now its a waste land nothing is beautiful not with the undead walking around, you have to risk everything to get something to keep yourself alive.

I stood on the roof of one of the buildings across from the old store, when I was little the man that once lived there always gave my brother and I a peach, mom made peach cobbler every time we brought them home, I miss them the memories feeling safe.

"What in the...?" I talked to myself out loud, I saw someone alive moving around in the store, good another survivor, but they were making so much noise the undead started going toward it, another rescue mission, or was it?

There was more than one there were three, two men and what looked to be a child, they were running out the front quickly killing them, are they idiots? They started heading the alley way where there was a dead end.

"Their going to get themselves killed." I said pulling up my hood and jumping down the emergency fire escape. lucky for them it was beside the building I'm at, one of them had a cross bow he was pretty good at using it, I can tell, and he also was smashing their heads with it, the other one had a gun and was foolish enough to be shooting it off, and the young boy was running from them.

They reached the door which I knew had a trick to get it open, by twisting the knob all the way in out stopping and not leaning against like they were, I jumped down landing on top of the undead, using my knife I took two out and ran toward them.

"Who in the hell are you?" The one with the cross bow asked I said nothing, I quickly opened the door and grabbed his hand pulling them in they all followed me, I took two out that were blocking my way...wait crap I forgot to shut the door, great now I will have to act fast.

We reached the roof, quickly letting go of his hand I shut the door and locked, I went to the edge and saw the sewer drain below us on the other side, looking i was electric wires just at enough angle, we could slide down reaching the drain.

"Can you say who you are please?" I turned around and saw it was the other man with him, the young boy looking at the door, I pulled out my belt and threw it over the wire and holding the ends, I motioned him to come closer, the one with the gun, he came over I took his hand and put it on the belt I was holding, I then out is other hand on it.

"Hold on and drop when you are close the wall, head to the sewer drain." I pushed him off and saw he did what I said, I then pulled out my rope and motioned for the young boy, he looked to be maybe 14 so i wouldn't say young, I tied the rope around him and over the wire making something like a harness, I pushed him off and he used his legs on the wall, quickly undoing the knot fell and ran to the other man.

"Umm running low on time." I saw the door was starting to bend out of shape, the lock will be breaking soon, I only have my hood, we will have to go together, I took it off my hair falling.

"Woah." I heard him whisper silently, I threw it over the wire

"Come on we have to go together, unless you wanna be eaten alive." He walked over and took the ends , at that moment the lock broke, I pushed him off, great I didn't jump in time, wait...my knife brace and threw it over jumping, I jumped and quickly put it back on, I ran the sewer drain and opened it.

"Come on, follow me, the names Rae by the way." They followed and one of them closed the cap, we started walking to get to the hide out.

"The name is Rick, this is my son Carl and this is Daryl."

"Nice to met all of you but what were you thinking? I mean I do it all the time but going up shooting and making noise? Not smart."

"Well it's all I have to protect myself."

"I'll get you something more quieter the next time I go to the gun shop, first you better met my group."

"We have our own to get back to." Daryl said, he was handsome and he spoke with a hillbilly southern accent

"Well you might as well rest here, with all that noise their going to be restless."

"Thank You." Rick said as we reached the hide out.

I never knew meeting them and their group soon will change everything I was living
