This Should be Easy
Crowley and Halt settled down on stools close to the bar, Crowley immediately striking up a conversation with the server. Halt just kept his mouth shut and let Crowley give off his natural charm
"Coffee, please." Crowley said with a smile after a couple minutes of cheery conversation. Halt nodded. "The same." he said.
Once the server was out of earshot, Halt quickly scanned the bar. A group of five adults, all looking slightly tipsy. A couple, laughing in a corner. A gang of students, presumably there to celebrate someone's birthday.
The five adults were probably the demigods they were looking for.
"Hey handsome." one of them drawled. "Looking fetching today, aren't ya?" He winked at Crowley, who looked stupendously confused.
"Pardon?" Crowley said, raising a brow.
If the man had had his wits about him, he would have noticed the dangerous glint in Crowley's eyes. But he was stupid enough to go on.
"I'd bet that those hands would be gr-" He didn't get any further. Crowley held up a hand in a gesture of authority that silenced the drunken man.
"Look. I'm not interested and I'm not here to find a date. I have my eye on someone already, so kindly stop flirting with me." he said.
Halt felt a slight pang in his chest but dismissed it. The drunk half-blood, however, refused to let go of the issue.
"You sure you ain't?" he asked, trying to be flirtatious. "I've got a d-"
"Okay, stop." Crowley said firmly, becoming more and more embarrassed. "I really don't want it. Kindly leave me be."
To the drunk man, this was the final insult. He sent a punch towards Crowley's face, which the redhead easily dodged. Halt stepped up, intending to protect his partner, but one look said that it wasn't needed.
Crowley easily slipped under the first man's defenses and flat-kicked his kneecap. He doubled over with a howl of pain and Crowley dodged away from his hurried fist.
Halt was having his own share of fighting. Two men came over, swords drawn. Halt pulled out his two daggers and just as a sword came swinging towards his face, Halt crossed the daggers in classic defense. Then he kicked the man in the stomach and brought another dagger in a backhanded swing to another attacker's jaw.
Crowley swung away from a fist and kneed his attacker in the stomach. Then he ducked away from a rogue elbow and hammered two short jabs into another man's ribs. Someone tapped him on the shoulder and he spun around to see Halt, standing over two groaning half-bloods.
"We might want to get out of here." he said softly. Crowley nodded, the adrenaline wearing off. As he knelt and pinched two nerves on a demigod's neck, Halt snapped his fingers and manipulated the Mist to hide everything. Then they dragged their attackers outside, Halt still bending the Mist.
"Grab my hand." Halt said briefly. Crowley took Halt's hand, sure that Halt could hear his thumping heart, and they shadow-traveled away.
Later, back at the Research Center, Halt turned to study Crowley.
"So, who do you have your eye on?" he asked curiously.
Crowley swallowed, sure that he couldn't tell Halt who exactly he liked. But he forced a cheeky grin onto his face.
"You'll never know!" he sang with false cheer, turning back to the computer.
Later, they got an online IM.
"Well, looks like we got what we wanted." Halt said dryly. "We're going to go, I presume?"
Crowley nodded. Halt took the redhead's hand and shadow-traveled them away.
