Chapter 2: Aisley Finds The Note
Aisley woke up after a good sleep. She had this feeling in her gut that something bad was going to happen.
She got ready and decided to check on (Y/N) like she does every morning. She could tell that (Y/N) was getting worse.
She walked out of the Hephaestus Cabin after Leo kept asking her to talk to you about talking to him.
Again, she ignored him with silence. She didn't want to ignore him, but she felt it was what (Y/N) would want.
Aisley wanted the best for her best friend. She loved her because they were practically sisters.
She made it to the Poseidon cabin and knocked on the door. Nobody answered, which was unusual because (Y/N) always answered it in the morning since she knew who it was.
Suddenly, she was shot with an attack of panic. Maybe this was why she felt like something bad was going to happen.
Aisley knew about her best friend's depression. She tried her best to help her through it because she felt the need to do something about it without consulting Chiron because (Y/N) didn't want Chiron to know.
She opened the door and walked in. The cabin smelled worse than usual. She couldn't see anything because the lights were off.
She turned on the light and came face to face with the nightmare of her life. She widened her eyes and fell to her knees.
Aisley screamed and started to sob. She couldn't believe the sight in front of her. She couldn't believe that this happened.
In front of her, was (Y/N)'s dead body. She was pale and lifeless. She couldn't bare to look.
She screamed so loud that the whole camp heard her. Except, nobody came rushing in.
Aisley didn't know what to do, yet she did. She moved over to the lifeless body of a girl with a dagger in her chest and checked the pulse in her neck.
She started choking on her sobs once she realized that there was no pulse. Her best friend killed herself. She couldn't stand to think that.
She picked up (Y/N)'s dead body and cradled her. Aisley sobbed as her tears fell onto (Y/N)'s body.
She stayed in that position for fifteen minutes. Aisley's eyes were blood shot from crying.
She knew that her best friend would leave a note. She looked around and saw a piece of paper on her bed.
Aisley ran over and picked up the note. She read some of it and couldn't read anymore, but she forced herself to.
It read:
To Leo,
I did this because I know nobody will miss me when I'm gone. Accept the fact that I did this because I know you don't care anyways. I excepted the fact that you love Calypso, even though I love you. I can't take the pain and heartbreak anymore. If you're happy with Calypso, then you would feel better if I wasn't in here. I'm happy for you that you're happy, even though I was dying inside everyday.
Aisley- I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I just can't do life anymore. It has brought to many obstacles that I can't complete. Thank you for always being there for me and I love you. Thank you for being the best best friend ever.
Percy- I'm sorry that you won't have a sister in the world anymore. I'm going to choose rebirth, so maybe I'll come again as a new person.
Chiron- You are the best fatherly figure anybody could ask for. I'm sorry that you have to go through another death, but I'll be in peace now. I'll be happy now. I love you. Please notify my mom and tell her that I love her.
Everyone- In case you haven't gotten what this was, this is my suicide note. I hope you find this and I'm sorry for caring too much about people, which caused all this pain.
Xoxo, (Y/N)
"I love you too (Y/N) and thank you for being there for me. You were the best thing that has ever happened to me." Aisley whispered as her tears began dripping onto the paper.
Aisley knew she had to bring the letter to Leo since it was addressed to him first.
Aisley was going to scream at Leo for making her best friend kill herself. Anger built inside her mixed with emotion, which is the most dangerous mood to be in.
She ran out of the (g/p) cabin with hot, angry tears running down her face. She was so angry that she pushed some campers that were in her way, which included Clarisse.
She made it to the Hephaestus Cabin and stormed in. She saw Leo and Calypso cuddling on the couch.
She went up to Leo and glared at him. He noticed the tears and put on a concerned and confused facial expression on.
Aisley didn't say anything before grabbing onto Leo's shirt collar and shoving him into the wall.
"YOU MADE (Y/N) DO THIS YOU IDIOT!" She cried and yelled.
"Make her do what?" Leo asked.
"You made her kill herself." Aisley whispered before sobbing into Leo's shoulder.
Leo looked stunned for a moment before breaking down. He slid down the wall and buried his head into his hands.
"R-read the n-note."
Aisley handed Leo the note and he read it. Aisley saw Leo's facial expressions turn into guilt, regret, sorrow, and sadness.
"I-I loved her t-too. I th-thought that sh-she d-didn't like m-me back, s-so I m-moved on." Leo sobbed.
"I kn-knew I should've con-confessed my f-feelings." He choked on a sob.
Aisley left Leo in peace and told Calypso to go. Calypso put on a fight until Aisley screamed at her and threatened her.
Aisley went to consult Chiron about the death of (Y/N). She was still overwhelmed and felt terrible for Leo now.
Leo's POV:
After Leo read that letter, he didn't think there was a meaning to life anymore. He realized in that moment that he loved (Y/N) more than Calypso.
He never thought she would do this and felt that way. If he would've known, then he would've stopped it.
Honestly, Leo wanted to kill himself to be with (Y/N) in the Underworld, but she stated that she was going to go for rebirth.
Leo knew killing himself wasn't the answer, but it felt like the right thing to do.
There was only one other option: ask Nico to take him to the Underworld to see (Y/N) one last time before she has her trial.
Few Hours Later~
News spread around about the death of one of the most joyful campers. All of the campers were devastated.
Chiron, Aisley, Leo, and Percy were the only people allowed to read the heartbreaking letter.
Chiron called her mother and her mother couldn't believe it. She broke down into sobs and apologized to Chiron that she had to end the call.
Leo walked out of the Hephaestus Cabin with a tear streaked face. He broke up with Calypso because he realized who she really is.
He made it to the Hades Cabin and knocked on the door. Leo looked paler just in a few hours from crying.
Nico opened up and glared at Leo. Aisley was also best friends with Nico and let him read the letter while she cried onto his shoulder.
"What do you want?" Nico said in a low and cold voice.
"W-will you sh-shadow travel m-me to the Un-underworld to s-see (Y-Y/N) for the l-last time be-before her tr-trial?" Leo asked with sniffles in between.
"Why do you think I would do that?" Nico asked coldly.
"Pl-please. I-I ac-actually l-loved h-her. I'll q-quit teasing y-you about W-Will." Leo pleaded.
Nico for once felt bad for the depressed son of Hephaestus. He's never seen Leo cry because he was always a jokester. Nico also once had a tiny crush on Leo.
"Fine. Get in here." Nico said as he stepped aside to let Leo inside of the dark cabin.
Nico held out his hand for Leo to take. Leo took it and shadows started to surround them.
Soon enough, they were shadow traveling. Leo felt so much peaceful in the shadows and finally understood why Nico liked them.
Leo felt happy in darkness. Maybe it was because of the feeling he's having without (Y/N) or something else.
Within a few minutes, they made it to the Underworld. Nico shadow traveled them in the Fields of Asphodel.
Nico guided Leo around the parts of the Underworld where (Y/N) would be. They looked and looked, but couldn't find her.
That's when they both realize...she was already gone.
