We Should Break Up
The carriage ride was long, but not unpleasant. Sebastian requested that I sit up front with him. He always kept one hand on the reigns, and the other on mine. The silence, save for the galloping hooves of the horses, was calming, and gave me time to think about things. The number one thing on my mind, was the fact that I had technically killed two people. Well, not directly, but indirectly. Yeah. That sounded better.
When the carriage pulled up to the Scott Land Yard headquarters, Sebastian finally let go of my hand. When he wasn't watching, I quickly wiped the sweat off onto my dress. The butler walked around to the side that I was on, and pulled me off of the seat, flinging my body into his arms. I blushed a little, feeling my heart rate increase slightly from his smile. Sebastian carefully set me down and opened the door for Ciel. "So... What's his name?" He asked me, glancing at Sebastian.
"Hiroshi Katsu." I answered, walking towards the door. "He should be around my age."
Ciel nodded as a confused Sebastian opened the door. "Who is Hiroshi Katsu?" My lover asked suspiciously.
I smiled and gave him a quick kiss on the nose. "All in good time, my dear."
We all walked into the brick building, which was warmed to just the right temperature to where it wasn't hot, but it wasn't cold. There was a man sitting at the desk with red hair. He looked friendly, but Ciel didn't treat him very kindly. "I need to see your citizen records."
The man behind the desk smiled. "Good day, Ciel! On a new assignment from the queen?"
"We Are looking for someone. Hiroshi Katsu." Ciel answered, clearly annoyed.
The man nodded and stood up from his chair, heading back into a room marked, 'For Employees only'
When he came back out, he held a file in his hands. "Hiroshi Katsu, 16 year old male, lives in an flat just outside of town." He read, holding up a photo
I nodded. "That's him."
The man looked at me as if I'd just appeared there. "Oh! Who is this?"
I smiled a little. "I am-"
"She's a witness. Um... to... something that I can't tell you. It's classified." Ciel quickly said, cutting me off.
The man nodded. "I'm Aberline. Nice to meet you."
"It was nice meeting you!" I replied quickly as Ciel grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the building with Sebastian trailing behind.
"What was that?" I asked when we were back on the carriage.
"If he knew that you were just a friend, then he never would have let us use the records." Sebastian said, looking straight ahead.
"Well he could've said something before we went in..." I mumbled, flipping through the files. "He lives in the Oakland flats. Number 506." I said, pulling out the copied information.
Sebastian nodded. "We're almost there."
We were both silent for a few minutes. Sebastian, thankfully, broke it. "So... Who is Hiroshi?"
I stared at my lap. "He... He was my boyfriend.... before the accident... which was actually caused by the Vyris."
Sebastian's eyebrows rose. "Oh....I.... I see...." He said as he stopped the carriage by the flat complex.
He turned to jump down, but I grabbed his hand. "Wait. I... C-Can I go alone?"
Sebastian looked surprised, then sad. He nodded. "Yes. Go ahead."
After explaining to Ciel that I wanted to go alone, I walked nervously over and stood outside of the door labeled 506. My hands had started to shake. why was I nervous? I shouldn't be nervous. I was just breaking up with my boyfriend who didn't care enough about me to come find me after the crash. I raised my hand and knocked on the door. It took a minute, but a boy about my age, who looked similar to Sebastian, but had blonde hair and brown eyes, opened the door. He looked surprised. "Oh. (F/n). Hi."
I smiled a little. "Hi, Hiroshi."
"Um..." He stepped out of the door, closing it behind him. "Wh-What are you doing here?"
I took a deep breath. "I.... I'm breaking up with you."
He blinked. "What? (F/n) if this is about trying to find you after the crash, I-"
I held up my hand. "Sorry, Hiroshi. I've got a new boyfriend. Someone who loves me and..." I turned to look at Sebastian, who was looking down at his lap, sullen. "Who will always care about me. Even if he thinks that I'm cheating on him." I turned back around to see a furious look on Hiroshi's face.
"You mean to tell me that after everything we've been through together. After all of the work I've put in to keep you mine, you're going to-"
Suddenly, a blonde girl came out of the door. "Hey, Hiroshi, did you ever hear back from that girl with the enormous fortune- Oh." She stopped talking when she saw me.
I smirked. "Goodbye, Hiroshi." Then I spun around on my heel, leaving a fuming Hiroshi and a confused blonde girl standing in the doorway.
Sebastian must've heard everything, because when I got back to the carriage, he was smiling to himself. He snapped the reigns, then took my hand, giving it a squeeze. I looked up at him and he looked back down at me. "I'm sorry... I didn't want to tell you and possibly risk you getting the wrong idea."
He smiled. "It's okay. I don't blame you." He replied, kissing the top of my head.
"Now," I grinned, looking at the road ahead. "Let's go catch us a criminal."
