Chappy 42

(Y/n) blinked, her fork hovering over her mouth as she stared blankly at Katsuki.

"This is not a ship Fireworks. It's a yacht."

"That's the only thing you caught?!"

(Y/n) turned away from the seething boy to grab a cupcake from the cupcake stand on the buffet table. "Why would you need a room anyway? They're probably private and out of bounds. Besides," she looked around the deck. "What's so bad about being up here?"

"This is an adults' party, fucknut," Katsuki smacked the back of her head. "It's disgusting."

The girl sent him a questioning look. "What's so wrong with that? You're gonna be an adult one day you know."

"We don't drink!!" he hissed.

"So?" she raised her cupcake in the air as if she was mocking doing a round of cheers. "We can have our own PG party right here!" she then chuckled and brought the cake to her mouth and took a large bite, resembling 'taking a shot'.

Katsuki stared at her like she was stupid and she smiled, her mouth still full. The boy huffed and looked away from her, making her frown. She swallowed and shot him a concerned look.

"Hey, come on," she nudged his side with her elbow. "Don't make me cheer you up when you were the one who persuaded me to come here."

Katsuki turned to her. "I didn't come here because I wanted to. I came here because of you. Know the fucking difference."

There was a long stretch of silence, which was finally broken by (Y/n)'s:

"Oh."

There was never a better time for Kastuki to mentally panic.

"I didn't mean it that-that way, you dumb fuck!" he snapped as heat began crawling up his neck and ears. "I meant that I'm only here because you looked so fucking pathetic in your chair, drinking that sappy drink of yours while staring at this whatever you call it like some creeper!" he pointed at himself. "I did you a fucking favor!"

(Y/n) brought the cupcake up to her lips and took another bite, all the while her eyes glued to Katsuki with an unreadable expression on.

And it just made him panic further.

"Don't-don't fucking look at me like that!" his face turned fifty shades of scarlet. "It doesn't mean shit! Got it!! Shit!"

"I know," she said after she swallowed. She then placed her plate on the table and took another cupcake from the stand. She turned back to Katsuki. "How about we keep all the dumbfuckery to a minimum, hmm? Less talking, more chewing."

"Huh?-mphh!" Katsuki was cut short when (Y/n) stuffed the muffin into his open mouth. He angrily took it out and hurled it over the railing, right into the sea. (Y/n) blankly stared at where the cupcake had been tossed off and looked back at Katsuki. He growled. "What."

"You should apologize to all pastry chefs in the world, you cupcake murderer," she turned and picked up her plate. "Now let's go find that room before you go on a homicidal rampage towards the rest of the dessert."

Katsuki rolled his eyes but remained silent as he turned to follow (Y/n). He shoved his hands in his pockets and glared hard at the ground.

That was too close. Way too close.

So, luckily for the two of them, after a bit of searching and sneaking around the large yacht, they managed to find an unoccupied lounge which was perfect for them. More than perfect. The room was large, lit up with lamps and very accommodating. A dartboard was hung on one corner of the room while a pool table was placed on the other corner. There was a large television mounted on the wall, just inches away from the door. A white couch faced it, pushed up against the wall with a window that looked out at sea above it, and a glass coffee table placed right in front of the sofa. There was also a bar at the very end of the room but it didn't serve any purpose for them.

(Y/n) whistled as she took in the sight of the elegant room. "Wow, now this..." she nodded to herself. "Is a room..."

Katsuki scanned outside one last time to ensure no one saw them come into the room before he closed the door and locked it behind them. He turned to look around the room, already spotting the sofa as the first thing and immediately made his way there.

His plopped down on the seat and put his feet up on the coffee table with no inhibitions. He leaned his head back on the sofa as he let (Y/n) do her thing.

Meanwhile, (Y/n) busied herself with exploring the room. Since the door was locked, she allowed herself to be nosy and began snooping around. She opened the various drawers, flipped through the magazines she found in one of them, cringed when she found a condom in one of them and quickly closed the drawer, examined the dart board and the darts, studied the various wine bottles in the bar, played with the light switch for a couple of moments, looked through the magazines again, switched on the television and kept changing the channels and settled on an animal documentary, and walked around the room a bit more until she was bored.

She plopped down next to Katsuki, with one leg tucked under the other and leaned her head on the back of the sofa with a groan.

Katsuki lifted his head and looked at her. "Don't tell me you're bored already."

(Y/n) shrugged.

"Goes to show you're boring as fuck," Katsuki said offhandedly and leaned his head back on the seat.

(Y/n) turned to size him up, offended. He merely shrugged, making her sigh. She turned her gaze out the window and stared at the dark sea for a while, bored before she sighed once more and turned to look around the room. Her eyes fell on the pool table and her eyes lit up with an idea.

She tapped Katsuki's arm. "Hey, wanna check out the pool table? We can play 8 ball pool."

His answer was immediate. "No."

(Y/n) pouted and grabbed his hand. She pulled it. "Come on. It'll be fun! I can be stripes! Or if you want, you can be stripes and I can be solids!"

He yanked his hand out of her grip. "Fuck off."

(Y/n) frowned and crossed her arms over her chest. "You're the one who found this room. You have every right to partake in its activities too."

Katsuki grimaced and lifted his head up. He turned to her with a scowl. "If I play will you shut up?"

She smiled. "Absolutely."

***

They were in their fifth match and (Y/n) had never been more confident of a win than she was at that particular moment.

Along the way, (Y/n) had changed the channel on the TV to a music channel, filling the whole room with upbeat music that drowned out even the one that was playing on the deck. It was fun for the most part as (Y/n) got the chance to dance while playing but what was most fun was the dark aura that surrounded Katsuki.

Katsuki, on the other hand, was having the least fun.

To put in simple terms, he was going to fucking kill (Y/n) if she did another victory dance after bagging another fucking win.

Katsuki stared at the cue ball with enough intensity to wilt crops and his grip on the cue stick tightened. Katsuki glared at (Y/n) through his bangs and she had the fucking audacity to grin at him.

He was getting impatient. If he didn't secure a win soon, he was going to blow the entire boat down.

(Y/n) swayed her hips to the music as she watched Katsuki make his next move. She snorted. He looked so tense, like he was diffusing a bomb.

She couldn't really blame him though. It was the fifth match and he still hadn't secured a win. He had been demanding a rematch for every loss and doing everything he could to win, only to lose to her with a landslide. And to add salt to his pride, he'd committed over eight fouls, which also constituted to her wins.

She shook her head. He was so hopeless. She had enough practice playing the game while she was in middle school. Literally, no one could beat her in that game. And for someone as competitive as Katsuki, he was gonna get a whole lot frustrated if he continued demanding for rematches.

Well, she smirked, now he knows how she felt when he kept winning at Uno.

"8-ball, corner pocket," he announced as he bent his body low to the table and gripped the pool cue in position. He aimed at the black 8-ball with precision towards the pocket at the farthest corner. A few beats passed before he shot it. The white ball hurtled across the table, bouncing off the 8-ball before the black one was sent skidding towards the pocket. (Y/n) watched with raised eyebrows as the ball hurtled towards the hole with alarming speed before it diverted its course and bounced against the rail, making it slow down until it came to a stop.

The room went silent.

(Y/n) pursed her lips to prevent the smile from appearing and looked at Katsuki.

She burst out laughing.

Katsuki grip on his cue tightened even further, his knuckles turning white. He gritted his teeth so hard they looked like they'd break from the pressure. Strangled sounds came out of his throat as he glared at the 8-ball with murderous intentions.

(Y/n) continued laughing but immediately ceased when she realized that smoke was coming out of his hand. Precisely the one that was holding the stick.

With a loud 'wait!', she went to move towards him before he did damage to the yacht's property but she was stopped in her tracks when an explosion was set off. Gasping, she covered her face with her arms and screwed her eyes shut.

Once the smoke cleared, she slowly placed her arms down and looked at the damage done. Katsuki remained rooted to the ground, his expression still the same and his fist enclosed on what was once a pool cue, in splinters. She looked around the room with mouth wide open. Blown up pieces lay scattered around them as various scorch marks littered the floor, the wall, and the ceiling.

(Y/n) looked down from the ceiling at Katsuki and pressed her lips into a grim line.

"Remind me never to play a video game with you."

***

After they had managed to get most of the scorch marks out and rearranged the room to look at least 'as they found it', the two exhausted teens had resigned to the couch to watch some random channel on television. The two sat next to each other, shoulders touching, one with their feet up on the table while their other had their legs crossed. A blanket they had found while cleaning up was wrapped around the upper half of their bodies as they stared blankly at the 90s kung-fu movie that was playing, completely bored out of their minds.

(Y/n) brought her hand up to cover her yawn. She then brought her knees up to her chest, covered them with the blanket and turned to Katsuki.

"Hey."

He turned to her with a bored look on his face.

"Remember that one time you said red was the better color?" (Y/n) asked with a smile on her face.

Katsuki rose an eyebrow as he tried to figure out what the point of the conversation was. "Yeah?"

The girl jutted her chin out and smirked. "My point still stands. Black is the better color."

"We're still on that?" the ash-blond ran a hand down his face and groaned.

"Yep," she smiled and poked his chest. "I won't let you win, Mr. Superiority Complex," she then sighed and leaned her head back on the couch. "I'm bored. Wanna hear a story?"

Katsuki rolled his eyes. "If it's about your sad life story, I'll pass."

"I'll take that as a yes," she smiled and began. "It was a long time ago-"

She was cut short by Katsuki's loud groan and sent him an offended look. Katsuki simply smirked at her, making her bump her shoulder against his. She laid her head back on the sofa and began.

"So remember when I said that I was in an orphanage?" Katsuki nodded. "So uh this is my story of how I was adopted, okay? Okay. It was like six years ago. So our dorm mistress sends me out to do some shopping and when I arrive at the supermarket, I see this chocolate bar and I'm like," she faked a gasp. "'I really want that' and it was like 'Come get me'. Yeah, are we on the same page here?"

When Katsuki hummed in response, she smiled. "Cool. Where was I? Oh, so I stared at it and it was calling me. And you know, back at the orphanage, they had this thing where they always gave the good kids chocolate," she placed a hand on her chest and shook her head. "I wasn't a good kid. So I never once got chocolate and even those other kids back at the orphanage didn't give some to me."

"Mhhm," Katsuki hummed, signifying her to continue.

"So since I couldn't afford to buy both what that tyrant sent me and the chocolate, I chose the chocolate, because I mean like," she scoffed a laugh and held her palms up "Who wouldn't choose it? So I bought it and ate it all up before I arrived at the orphanage so that all the other selfish assholes wouldn't borrow me some. So I got there," she made a face. "And this dorm mistress, her name was Miss Hana by the way, starts spazzing nonsense about honesty and greed and I'm like 'please close your garbage hole'. Can you imagine she punished me?"

"Oh really," Katsuki said with a bored voice, even though he really was listening.

"Yeah, the nerve of that nun," she scowled. "Anyway, she made me sit at the front of the orphanage. Like right at the steps while eating a whole bag of dry buns along with this thin porridge that they used to serve."

The ash-blond snickered, making the girl chuckle.

She groaned and covered her face with her hands. "It was soooo embarrassing!!" she shrugged and pulled the blanket up to her neck. "So there I was, trying to pretend that I was eating a croissant dipped in chocolate when it's actually dry buns in sugar-free porridge," she turned to him with a hard expression on. "A whole pot if I may add. Damn, I was so full. So anyway, I was just enjoying my forced meal, with people staring me like I was crazy and then this lady walks down all nice and pretty and says hi to me. And I'm like...shocked? Yeah. Lady sits right next to me and I'm like 'okayyy'. So she asks me why I'm pigging out outside the orphanage like a sad slob and I tell her and she says all these sappy stuff about being friends and how she likes me. And I'm like 'Aren't we moving too fast? I'm not ready for that kind of relationship yet'. So five days later, boom! Lady adopts me and rescues me from that hellhole," she grinned. "And her name was Nanami Shizuku. God bless her soul."

She turned to Katsuki with a smirk. "What'd you think?"

"Didn't suck like I expected it to."

She rolled her eyes. "Of course it didn't, duh..." she paused before she asked. "What's your favorite middle school memory?"

"Leaving," he deadpanned.

(Y/n) laughed. "Why? What middle school did you go to?"

"Does it matter?" the ash-blond knitted his eyebrows at her, earning a shrug from her.

"Pretty much yeah."

Katsuki remained silent for a few seconds before he spoke.

"Aldera."

"Really?" she straightened up to look at him in bewilderment.

"Yeah. Your grandfather go there or something?" Katsuki countered sarcastically.

A laugh escaped the girl's lips and she shook her head. "No. It's just that I was actually supposed to go there one time."

"Huh?" Katsuki stared at her in disbelief.

"Yeah, like for real. But that was before Nanami adopted me. So when she did, she took me to a private one nearby. That's where I met Shouto," she then giggled and brushed back her hair. "Wow, small world huh? Considering if I hadn't been adopted I'd have met you instead."

Katsuki scowled. He couldn't be angry anyway since it already happened but he couldn't help think. What if he had met her first? Maybe then things would've been different.

His thoughts suddenly disappeared when he felt something press on his shoulder. He turned his head to see (Y/n)'s head on his shoulder. He frowned and turned his gaze to the TV. It didn't matter. It was probably for the best if she hadn't met him before then.

"Fireworks?"

"What," he said without looking at her.

(Y/n) shifted her head back on his shoulder so that she could properly look up at him. "Do you guys have that one innocent spoon in your house that you just dislike for no reason? Like, you just hate it?"

The boy went poker-faced and he looked at her. "What?"

(Y/n) rose her eyebrows with a smile. "What?"

Katsuki and (Y/n) stared at each other for a while before (Y/n) burst into laughter. Amidst that, the girl noticed something. Katsuki was smiling for the first time. It wasn't malicious or evil, but a soft...smirk-smile if she could describe it well.

"So you do smile," she observed, making him immediately turn his smile into a scowl.

He flicked her forehead. "Don't get too used to it."

"Why?" she pouted, rubbing her forehead. "You look great. If that is possible."

"You don't know what you're saying," Katsuki said, cheeks turning pink. He looked at her and she wiggled her eyebrows. Scowling, he grabbed her face and shoved her back onto the sofa.

(Y/n) laughed while sitting up and retaliated by playfully slapping his arm. She resumed her position next to him, pulled the blanket over them once more and laid her head back on his shoulder. She snuggled to his side, stealing his warmth for herself as she stared at the TV screen.

The moment reminded her so much of when they were in Tokyo and how they used to hang out a lot. Those were really fun times, she smiled nostalgically.

"Katsuki," she began, breaking the silence. "Why is a raven like a writing-desk?"

Katsuki's eyebrows furrowed. "Alice in Wonderland."

(Y/n) loudly chuckled and raised her head from his shoulder to send him a doubtful look. "There's no way you've read Alice in Wonderland."

When Katsuki gave her an insulted look, she smiled. He sure was full of wonders. "You're weird."

"You're weirder," he countered in a clipped tone. He then added under his breath. "Quoting some children's book like some fucking kid..."

Ignoring his last words, (Y/n) tilted her head. "Have you guessed the riddle yet?"

Katsuki flickered his gaze to the side and frowned. She just had to remind him of that one time in elementary school he read the book three times so that he'd get the lead character in the school play instead of the other two-bit extras in his class.

All that effort only to find out that no, a fucking boy cannot be cast as Alice and also no, Alice cannot be changed into a dragon prince and kill the red queen so that he could take over as king. If that wasn't just fucking rude, then seven-year-old Katsuki didn't know what else was.

He heaved out a long, suppressed sigh. Maybe it did come in handy after all those years.

"No, I give it up," he replied, playing along. "What's the answer?"

(Y/n) stared at him for a bit, an unreadable expression on her face before she laid her head back on his shoulder. She snuggled to his side as she smiled up at the ceiling.

"I haven't the slightest idea."

***

(Y/n)'s eyes slowly fluttered open. She blinked a couple of times as her to the bright morning light bathing the room. The girl slowly sat up, the blanket that was over her falling from her shoulders, and rubbed her eyes with the heels of her hands. She rapidly blinked when her vision was suddenly attacked by black spots and she grimaced.

When her vision was back to what it used to be, she looked around the room. They had left the TV on and it was showing some late morning cartoon. She searched for the remote on the couch, finding it near the edge of the sofa and switched off the TV.

Suddenly, she remembered that there was someone missing from the picture.

Where's Katsuki? She reached out to place the remote on the table only to find him on the floor, sleeping between the table and the sofa. Her forehead creased. How on earth did he get down there?

Snorting, she bent over from the couch to shake him awake. It didn't take him long to stir as he slowly opened his eyes to glare at the disturbance only to find (Y/n) smiling at him. He sat up, disoriented as to why he was on the floor in the first place.

"Come on," she said as she threw the blanket off her legs so that she'd stand up. "Let's go out and make sure pirates didn't kill everyone else on board while we were asleep."

Katsuki scoffed but he got up to his feet and followed her to the door. They exited the room and headed up on deck to find some of the guests already awake. And as promised, the yacht had changed its course and was sailing back to the island.

(Y/n) made her to way to the nearest rails and folded her arms on them. She stared out at sea and watched as the island slowly drew nearer. The aromatic sea air strongly invaded her senses and it made her smile. She felt Katsuki's presence move to stand beside and she sighed. She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear and turned to him.

"Let me just be honest. I had fun last night," she admitted. "Thanks."

Katsuki ruffled her hair and shoved her to the side, making her laugh. "'Course you had fun, dumbass. I'm the most fun guy you'll ever fucking meet."

(Y/n) pressed her fingers to her lips and giggled. "In what universe?"

The ash-blond sent her an affronted look. "In this universe, you fucking shit."

"Yeah sure. Keep telling yourself that," she smiled, making him click his tongue in irritation.

She straightened up, Katsuki doing the same.

"We're going back to school tomorrow..." she sighed, sad that the weekend had to end.

"What'd you expect? To live here?" the male scoffed and looked at her.

"Maybe," she shrugged, a small smile on her lips.

Katsuki cleared his voice and looked away, taking her words to mean that she'd rather stay with him on the boat.

"There they are!"

The two teenagers exchanged confused looks before turning around in to be met with a multitude of adults staring at them with awe.

"To the youngest couple on the cruise!" a man proclaimed while he rose his glass of champagne in the air.

"They stayed all night together in a room!" a woman cooed, her hand on her chest. "Aww, young love!"

A man chuckled and turned to the woman who he had his arm around her waist. "Reminds us of when we were teenagers, right honey?"

The woman smiled and nodded.

"Uh..." (Y/n) began, already feeling uncomfortable with all the unwanted attention.

"The fuck you want extras?!!" Katsuki glowered at them in an intimidating way.

"Look at him!! So cute in his angry phase!" a woman gushed as she leaned close to her partner.

"Haah?!" Katsuki yelled at her. "It's not a fucking phase!!!"

"Katsuki!" (Y/n) scolded, instantly shutting him up and turning back to the people. "Uh, can we help you?"

"We just wanted to see you. You two are such an adorable couple!" a woman said while smiling widely at (Y/n).

(Y/n)'s eyes widened and frantically shook her head. "No, no. We're not together."

"No need to be shy. We won't lecture you or anything," a man winked at her slyly.

"We really are no-"

"Now that you've mentioned it, how about you show us that kiss, huh?" someone from behind the crowd said.

(Y/n)'s heart jumped to her mouth, her lips parting in shock. Katsuki froze, his crimson-colored eyes widened at the request. He paid (Y/n) a side glance to see her reaction, only to frown.

"What?!" she screwed up her face. "No! I have a boyfriend!"

"So what? It's just a kiss," a slim woman, who held on to half-full champagne glass, laughed as she looked around the crowd for approval. When the other adults nodded, she turned back to the mortified girl and slyly winked. "I'm sure you do it all the time. Plus, if he's not your boyfriend, he must be someone close. A side dish, perhaps?"

Katsuki took a menacing step forward. "Fuck you said?!!"

(Y/n) grabbed Katsuki's arm and pulled him back before he could wreak havoc. "No! He's not!"

"Okay then if you say so," a man in a white sunhat shrugged. (Y/n) instantly hated his strident voice. "But he must be something special. So, we're not letting you leave this boat without a kiss."

"Come on, show us how you young'uns do it these days," an older man added, earning murmurs of agreement from the others.

Is this even legal?!

(Y/n) palms began to grow sweaty. Her breaths quickened and she took in a sharp breath as she squeezed her sweaty hands into fists.

Standing before them, were adults ready to pick on some teenagers for their own sick, twisted fun and (Y/n) was slowly crumbling under the pressure. Did they really comprehend what they were asking from her? To cheat on her boyfriend with the one person he said to stay away from the previous night?

Maybe it was karma. Karma for not listening to Shouto and taking his words with a grain of salt.

Katsuki looked at (Y/n), an indecipherable look on his face. (Y/n) felt the burn of his red eyes against the side of her face and turned to look at him. The instant her eyes met his, she was glued to the spot. The wind ruffled through his hair, the spiky hair flowing with the movement. His eyebrows were furrowed as usual, but he wasn't frowning. He was watching her, she was well aware. Thinking. Waiting. Unmoving. Wondering.

Was she going to do it?

"Go on! He's waiting!"

"What are you waiting for, sweetheart?!"

"KISS!!"
