"Ok. Let's get this over with I got no damn sleep last night because #44 (Wyoming) wouldn't shut up..." David groaned, Katie just laughed at him. "Seriously? I thought it was just a normal Tuesday for you." David shot her glare but unfortunately for him, his glares were useless to the taller female.

Mostly because she thinks his size is funny and adorable. "Should we play Hamilton for this one? I think he'd like it! It's a classic from 2020, you remember that year right?" David shivered. "Sadly I do..."
"Then let him watch it, I mean it's a classic!"
David rolls his eyes. Not like he even cared about what these 'things' liked. Their job was to experiment and watch their behavior. Eventually, they would be used as military weapons.

California was roaming back and forth in his designated room. Wondering mostly, like would he get fed today? He hasn't had his meal yet which sucks ass. Just because he bit the guy for trying to saw one of his legs off? Like he totally deserved it. Unfortunately, they sawed it off anyway. But at least he was passed out by then.

"Hello, wall!!" The state smiled, the walls were his friends here. Sure they could be mean but they still talked to him. "What do I have to do today Mr.Wall? Fighting or... Surgery? Maybe cooking again!! I won't burn my finger off like last time I promise!!" Cali talked way too much about this thing. He didn't even know it wasn't the wall that was talking to him. But the head scientists at this Facility. Katie grinned. A lot of the states there could regenerate if they were hurt. Some didn't get that kind of luxury.

"We are watching a film today, it's called Hamilton."

"Oooo~ wait what's a film?"

"Sort of like watching others make interesting things for entertainment."

"No idea what half of those words mean..."

+2 hours of explaining later, give the dude a break he's been in a white box his whole life with barely anything+

"Yeah! I get it now!! Can I watch this 'Film' please?!" California sat in front of the wall he was talking to. "Why of course." A huge light blue holographic square popped up showcasing the first song. Cali shrieked. "WALL!! WALL!! THOSE PEOPLE ARE STUCK IN THAT SQUARE!! I GOTTA HELP 'EM OUT!!" Cali jumped and tried scratching at the hologram. "#31!! Stop. They are not stuck in there. That's just how films are made."

"Oooooo~ Ok! Sorry..."

As the Golden State continued to watch the film in pure amazement. Katie was kicking herself laughing. Even the normally stone-faced David cracked a small smile. "#31 is too pure for this world. I swear to God..." Katie said trying to catch her breath.
"Maybe but #19 (Indiana) is the most bean-like out of all of them. And has lots of good facts that he can spit out endlessly somehow." David replies, quickly going back to his normal stone-faced expression.

"Woooow..." California mumbled as the screen disappeared. "Well, what did you think?"

"AGAIN!! AGAIN!!" California giggled, "I wanna do that!! Be a-a... What's the word? Oh yeah! I wanna be a star!! I wanna be on a big stage and make people happy like those humans did!!" California pranced around the room happily. Thinking of all the plays and performances he could do and be in.

"Sorry, #31. But I'm afraid you'll never be able to do that."

"What? Why not!!" California pouted, he loved the show. And it looked kinda easy. So how come? This place sucks-

"You live here remember. You are not a human. You are very different. No one will understand nor want you as the way you are. Now I must go now. But it was a nice chat #31, bye."

"Yeah... Bye..." The golden state sat down in a corner of the room. More specifically his sad corner on the bottom right. "Man... I hate this place..."

Katie sighed looking at the really depressed nation-state before turning to her colleague. "DID YOU SERIOUSLY HAVE TO SAY THAT TO HIM?!" David shrugged. "I mean he's gotta learn. He can't leave."

"Yeah sure but look how sad he is!! Why are you always so moody anyway?! Couldn't be nice to one Experiment?!" Katie pushed past him and out the room. "The hell is she mad about?" He mumbled, not like they could or would keep them anyway. They were just experiments. Nothing more. Plus attachment would make giving them up worse.

No way in hell he's dealing with that shit.
