(Star's POV)

Luz leads me along a path through the forest that surrounded the portal. Eda, Willow and Marco are hanging back, I can hear them talking behind us. This trip has managed to become something far beyond what I could have ever hoped. What started off as us going somewhere with a history of magic and witches turned into us stumbling across a whole new world full of them. What's more, they are happy to share what they know with us. Despite all this, it would seem by the look on her face as she leads me through the trees that Luz is even more excited about this than I am. She moves jovially, spreading out her fingers to brush against every blade of red grass or orange leaf on the trees around us. I quicken my pace to catch up and put myself alongside her. "So what's gotten you so excited?"

Luz turns her head to look at me. "This whole situation is just really cool. I love learning about all types of magic, and not only do you fall in here with a whole new type of it and with wands like I've never seen before, but you are also from a completely different dimension to anything I know. Where was it you said you were from again?"

"Mewni."

Luz turns back to the path. "Right, Mewni." Her pronunciation is a bit off, but its ok, Marco's was the first time too. "Tell me about it."

"Well, where do I begin? Its beautiful for a start. I'll have to show you some day. The sky, the landscapes. Even when I was growing up the view from the castle was always one of my favourite things." I look at my surroundings again, taking it all in. "However, this place looks pretty good too."

"Just you wait, you haven't seen nothing yet." Luz pushes aside some vines and the edge of the forest reveals itself. "Welcome to Bonesborough." 

I walk across the threshold and blink a few times. As my eyes adjust I am finally able to take in the picture in front of me. We are perched on a cliff, overlooking a large town. The sun is starting to set behind the skull of a massive creature that is far in the distance, casting a gorgeous glow across the setting of the town. The buildings looked old, but had a new shine to them, as if they had been built in that style. The entire view was picturesque, almost something out of a movie or book. "Luz this place is beautiful."

"Yeah, this never gets old. I bet its nothing compared to Mewni though."

"Trust me, this is up there."

Suddenly, the vines behind us part again as Eda, Willow and Marco pass through them. "Enjoying the view are we?"

I nod as Eda steps up to the cliff edge. "See that over there?" She points over to a huge purple tree just out past the town. "That's the University of Wild Magic, it's where we are heading first."

I peer towards the tree, trying to gauge how far away it is. "But that has to be a few miles away at least, it will take us forever to walk over there."

Eda gives a wry smile. "Who said anything about walking?" Luz and Willow place their hands in front of themselves and draw them through the air away from each other. A staff appears before each of them, materialising in the gap left as they draw their hands apart. The staffs are each a different colour, with a different animal adorning the top. Willow's staff is headed up by what looks like a massive bee, while Luz's has some form of snake resting atop it.

Both Luz and Willow straddle their staffs, as if riding a horse, and they start to float above the ground slightly. "Come on," Luz says, patting the staff behind her, beckoning for me and Marco to get on. Marco gets on the back of Willows staff as I walk over to Luz's.

I look over to Eda, who isn't holding a staff. "Wait, how are you going to fly over there?"

"Don't worry kid, I got a few tricks up my sleeve." Suddenly Eda's body starts to change. She grows taller and feathers start to appear across her body. Finally, two massive wings sprout from behind her back and flap a few times before settling at her sides. "What do you think?"

I'm too in awe to speak. I look across at Marco and he is the same. We both just stare at this new form Eda has presented to us, completely in shock with how cool it looks. I finally manage to find a few words to say. "Wow, that's incredible."

"Isn't it just." She flaps her wings a few times which lifts her into the air. "I'll see you guys over there."

Eda flies off towards the tree, Willow and Marco taking off just behind her. "I'm right behind you Eda."

Luz is about to take off next when I stop her. "Wait, I want to try something."

Luz stops the staff and I get off, placing my feet back on the ground. "What is it you are trying to do Star?"

"Eda changing made me realise something, maybe I can find a way to use magic here after all."

Luz gets off her Staff. "Well clue me in, how can you do that?"

"Its easier to see rather than explain." I close my eyes and concentrate on changing my form. "Back when we were in Gravity Falls all those years ago, while the others were given their animal forms I was granted the ability to change between my regular body and a Mewberty form." I attempt to feel the transformation come across my body, imitating the way I felt every time I changed forms beforehand. "My Mewberty form increases my magic potential massively. I used it multiple times when trying to save my friends. I haven't changed into it in a while, but I figure it may be able to increase my magic enough that it doesn't get dampened."

Luz looks enthralled in the conversation, almost in as much awe of just the explanation of the change as me and Marco were of seeing Eda actually do it. "Worth a shot, go for it."

I continue to try to prompt the transformation. I remember how it felt when I changed the first time in gravity falls. I remember how it felt every time I did it in Jump City. I remember how it felt every single time I changed. Sadly, nothing happens. Despite the way we received our forms being the same, the rest of the group transformations are obviously prompted by something other than magic, whereas mine is still dampened. "Nothing, that sucks."

"I'm sorry Star, I would have loved to have seen your magic." She gets back on her staff and I re-join her. "Lets catch up with the others, I'm sure someone in the university will know how you can use your magic." She looks behind her to check I'm on the staff and sees me there, looking somewhat defeated. "And hey, if need be, how about when you guys go back to the human realm, I'll come with you and you can show me there."

"I'd like that."

"Ok then, off we go." Luz takes off and we fly through the air towards the Wild Magic University. I look down as we fly through the air, watching as the town zoom past beneath me. This place truly is amazing. We reach the tree not too long after we set off, the staff able to fly us through the air at amazing speeds. 

We touch down a few minutes later in front of the tree, a sign reading University of Wild Magic ahead of us. We walk past it towards the base, where the rest of the group have gathered. Willow, Eda and Marco had already landed from their journey, and Zach, Dipper, Mabel and Vee had obviously made a stop here. They were all talking to each other, waiting for us to arrive.

Vee turns around and spots us as we walk up. She gives us a wave and the rest of the group turn to face us. Eda walks up to us as we head towards everyone. "So, what did you think of the flight?"

I smile. "This place couldn't possibly get any better."

"I wouldn't say that just yet kid." She throws her arms behind her, casting her palm across the tree. Suddenly, lights appear from nowhere, casting down a bright light nestled amongst the leaves. Toadstools and roots that travel up the tree start to glow a brilliant purple, and the tree itself seems to deepen in colour. Within the thick boughs and branches of the tree, platforms are snuggly nestled with boards, desks and cushions built into them. The names of classes are embroidered onto curtains and cloths that are hung amongst the makeshift classrooms. "Welcome to the University of Wild Magic."

My eyes widen, a tear of happiness forming in the corners. I manage to tear my eyes away from the amazing sight just for long enough to see Marco, Dipper, Mabel and Zach have similar reactions, all fully taken in by the beauty of what they can see. "I take it back, it has gotten better."

"Isn't she beautiful. It took some time to get the old girl going after we sorted out our Witch Hunter problem, but now this is the premier magical teaching establishment on the Boiling Isles."

I couldn't speak. This felt like a dream and I was too afraid to wake up. I could only think to ask one thing. "Are we allowed to come back here?"

Eda looks at me with a confused expression on her face. "What do you mean?"

"Well, we will need to go back to the human realm eventually. You seemed pretty annoyed that we found your portal in the first place, so I don't want to leave if it will be for the last time."

Eda laughs. The rest of her group chuckle. I look around at my friends faces, and while they don't massively show it, its obvious that they had similar concerns. Eda stops laughing and looks me in the eyes with a massive grin on her face, a tear of mirth rolling down her cheek. "About earlier, we aren't a hostile people here. We were just surprised someone found the door." She wipes the tear from her face. "And the way I see it, you two," she gestures to me and Marco, "have the key to the door anyway. We couldn't stop you coming back even if we wanted to. Not that we do of course, just to be clear."

Luz looks over to me. "Yeah, it's been fun spending time with you. You are part of this place now, I can't imagine you not coming back." Willow, Vee and King nod in agreement with her.

I can't help but hug Luz, my nature doesn't allow for it. She hugs me back. "Thank you," I say. "Just, thank you."

Zach walks over to the two of us. "Seeing this place is amazing, but Vee says she has even more things to show us, so we are going to continue the tour. Plus, I promised King I would let him ride on my back next."

King pipes up from the back of the crowd. "A king deserves a mount as mighty as they are."

"Of course," Marco replies. "You guys have fun."

Zach starts to walk back over towards Vee, Dipper, Mable and King. "We'll meet back at the portal door later." He smoothly transforms back into a dragon as he walks over, Dipper and Mable already having changed back into their Lion and Tiger forms. Vee picks up King and places him gently on Zach's back, who had leaned over to make it easier on them. The five of them then head off back towards the town.

"Yeah, I also have some things to do so I'm gonna head back to the Owl House," Eda says, changing back into her winged form. "I'll see you guys back here tomorrow."

She takes off with a mighty gust of wind. I wave to her as she flies back in the direction she came. "Bye Eda, thanks for everything."

Willow pulls her staff from between her hands once again. "I have flyer derby practice, so I'll see you guys later." She also flies from the scene back towards the town. It was now just me, Marco and Luz left.

Suddenly, a ding is heard coming from Luz's pocket. She pulls out an egg shaped yellow device, not dissimilar from an earth Tamagotchi. "Oh my god, Amity is back already." Her voice had changed to an even happier tone.

I cock my head to the side slightly. "Who's Amity?"

"Amity is my girlfriend," Luz replies. "She is the best, but is always out on adventures. You guys should come and meet her."

We agree and Luz leads us into the town. We walk through the streets for a few minutes, me trying to absorb my entire surroundings. The streets are teaming with life, people going about their lives, meeting others, loving, enjoying their time. The town is alive, and its truly amazing to think that we ended up here by accident. One wrong move today and I would have missed all of this. It doesn't really bare thinking about. I put my arm around Marco's and squeeze into him. He looks down and me and smiles. I smile back.

After a few more minutes, Luz leads us out of the town toward a large mansion that sits on the outskirts. It has a purple flair to it, deep and sunken in with a large path leading to the front door. As we go through the gate, Luz walks a few steps down the path and stops. Me and Marco stop beside her. "What are you waiting for Luz? The door is over there." I point down the path towards the double door.

Luz smirks. "Oh we aren't going in the house."

"Then why are we standing here?"

Luz points up. "Because of that."

I huge gust of wind catches me and Marco off guard, and we brace against it. I look up to see a massive golden airship flying overhead. It stops above the pathway and slowly starts to descend. As it comes closer to the ground, I can see that it is half comprised of a golden metal and the other half is comprised of some kind of purple sludge like substance. This sludge makes up the balloon above the golden gondola and also makes up the landing gear, which take the form of four legs. It even has a sludge cat face on the front that I assume works as some kind of figure head. The airship lands a few feet ahead of us, and as I touches down I get a look at the pilot. She looks around Luz's age, younger than Marco and I but no by much. She stands atop the airship, grasping at one of the ropes. Her hair is a very light purple and tied back in a ponytail, showing what can only be assumed as her natural brown hair colour underneath. As she gets down from the airship and puts her feet on solid ground, Luz runs up to her.

"Amity, I'm so happy you are back."

Amity opens her arms for a hug and Luz launches herself into them, squeezing her tightly. "Hey Luz, I missed you so much."

Me and Marco stand by the gate, not sure whether to move forward to introduce ourselves just yet. The moment seems tender and we don't want to ruin it. 

They pull apart and Amity looks over Luz's shoulder. "Hey, Luz. Who are they?"

Luz turns around. "Oh I'm so sorry, I got caught up in that fact you are back finally, I forgot to introduce you." Luz beckons for me and Marco to come closer. "It's cool guys, come over."

Marco and I walk up to the pair. I give Amity a wave. "Hey, I'm Star and this is Marco."

Amity waves back. "I'm Amity Blight, Luz's girlfriend and best explorer on the Boiling Isles." She turns back to Luz. "Where did these two come from, I've never seen them here before at all."

"They come from the Human Realm."

"You showed other people the portal door?" Amity tries to hide her concerned face but doesn't do a very good job of it. She turns to face Marco and I. "Sorry, I don't mean to be rude."

Marco raises his hand in front of himself. "It's fine, we heard from Eda you guys have had some issues in the past. I would be wary if I was in your position."

"I didn't actually show them the portal, they followed Vee over to it and they opened it on their own. The two of them are magic, but a different form of magic to you and me. Apparently the door reacted to it and opened for them."

Amity looks surprised, not quite sure what to say. She finally settles on something. "Well, if you trust them I do."

Luz nods. "Vee vouched for them in the beginning, apparently she and Masha had spent some time with them in the Human Realm, and they are pretty fun to spend time with. All five of them are good people, I can tell. I trust them."

Amity does a double take. "Wait, five of them?"

"Yeah, Star and Marco came through with three others. Vee is showing them around the Boiling Isles right now." Suddenly, the sounds of wings flapping could be heard in the distance. "Look, here they come now."

As the sound of flapping wings gets closer, Zach in Dragon form appears over the horizon. Apparently during the course of the tour Vee, Dipper and Mable had joined King in riding on Zach's back as he flew around. Luz waves up towards the group and Vee waves back as they fly off back in the direction we came. Amity's face is now just one of pure confusion. "I'm so confused, one of your friends is a Dragon?"

Luz puts her arm around Amity's shoulders. "I'll explain it all later." She turns back to Marco and I. "It looks like they are heading back to the portal. You guys should head back soon, you agreed to meet them there."

Marco and I agree. Luz and Amity produce their staffs and get on. We get on with them again, Me on Luz's and Marco on Amity's. They fly us back to the portal door, where Dipper, Mabel, Zach and Vee were waiting. During the time between we saw them fly over and now, King had been taken back to Eda. We get to the portal door and Vee opens it for us. Zach, Dipper, Mabel and Marco all walk through the door, but Luz taps me on the shoulder before we can join them. "I know I said I would join you in the Human Realm for a bit so you could show me your magic, but Amity just got back so I really want to spend time with her."

I nod. "I understand."

"You will come back tomorrow though right?"

I smile. "Bright and early."

Luz gives me a wave before I step through the portal to join the others. Now back in Gravesfield, we make our way back to the bed and breakfast, and pass out for the night.
