Arima Kousei POV:
I quickly got back home after I read a lot of documents that were piling up on my desk when I left for my honeymoon for a while.
There were too many of it and I signed some important deals and requests in my office.
There were deals that I refused to go on to since it was a waste of time and there were also requests that I didn't accept or else the company would be at risk.
Before I left the office at exactly eight in the evening, my associates gave me some gifts and I drove home alone.
When I finally arrived at the Arima Estate, I decided to let the family driver park my car in the mansion.
I was quickly welcomed by our servants and of course, I saw my mom and Kaori together.
"Welcome back home," she told me.
I kissed Kaori's forehead quickly and when I stared at her face, she really looked pale.
"Are you alright?" I asked her. I don't want her feeling sick. I'm afraid I'd lose her again and I don't want that.
"I'm completely fine, Kousei," she assured me.
My mom went beside me and smiled at me.
"It's a shame that I didn't see you grow up into a responsible adult."
I also smiled at her.
"Mom, I guess you've seen me grow even if you're far from me. I thought that you were dead but now you're here beside me. You're both beside me," I told them.
"That's true," she told me. After that, she touched my cheeks. "You're tired. You need rest. Most of all, tomorrow's going to be your big day. Your father's about to introduce you to other Chief Executive Officers."
I held Kaori closer to me and I think she sensed my nervousness because she also held me closer to her. She laughed at me that made me curious. "You're a baby! Why don't you get over it?" she asked me.
I blushed. She pinched my cheeks and kissed me. "Everything's going to be okay. You've surpassed a lot of challenges. I know you can do this, too," she told me.
I nodded and finally, I went upstairs to get inside my room. I quickly took off my black necktie and slid off the pink curtains. I smiled. Pink. I guess Kaori loves the color pink as she always wear pink since we first met. I closed it again.
Finally, I changed into pajamas and went to bed to rest. Truthfully, I am nervous to meet all of them even if I was able to meet the four other Chief Executive Officers who toured me into their offices, shops, hospitals and show me how their company do grow.
I could feel that they were assuring me that everything's fine and there are no large problems that I should worry about.
Arima Electric Company, Arima Television Company and Arima Medicine Company were all doing great but I sensed that there's a problem inside Arima Group of Banks. I wonder... should I tell my father that he should look over it?
There were other smaller companies that need looking on like the Arima Housing Company, Palace Hotels, malls, car companies and the other entertainment industries.
I think I'm just concerned over it since Arima Group of Banks is one of the largest and most important company we do manage.
I decided to lay down on the bed and sleep. After a while, a warm hug of the girl I love came over me.
She's really like a kitten who comes over to cuddle you. My nervousness died away soon after.
"Watari finally confessed to Tsubaki, you know? They plan to marry this year and they want us to back them up," she told me.
"Well, that's a good news," I told her as I drift to sleep.
The next day, I woke up earlier than I expected and when I looked at the clock, it's five a.m in the morning.
I kissed Kaori's forehead before I left her side to get ready for one of the large challenges I will be having.
It was six-thirty in the morning when my father and I were fully ready to leave the Arima Estate to finally go at the conference hall in his own building where his office is located. I'll finally be stepping inside the center of our business group.
I learned soon enough that my family owns and manages a group of companies and upon the merging of Arima Group and Nakiri Group, the two business group will become Japan's largest economic power and they will entrust it to me.
I wonder, will I be able to do it?
"You're my son. Don't disappoint me later, okay?" he told me.
I assured my father, "It was all thanks to you that I don't feel that nervous since you made it sure that I'm ready to meet the other Chief Executive Officers."
He grinned happily and patted my head as if I'm still the fourteen year old child I was before. "Of course. You're their next head after all."
My mom and Seto Hiroko were outside of our mansion that day to give me a good luck. After that, our servants bowed to us as I get in the black car at the center of another convoy.
...
A few hours later, I finally got a glimpse of father's office. It shocked me to see that it was a bit smaller than my office.
I looked at my father and a grin crept on his lips.
"Did you expect to see a large building like yours?" he asked me.
"I'd lie if I say no. I just wonder why yours is smaller," I asked him.
He looked straight ahead of the small, bluish building filled with glass windows.
"It's my office and I'm pretty much handling the business group through a computer all day long. I get reports by my secretaries and my Chief of Staff. Most of all, I do arrange meetings monthly. I know that I just kept telling you to just let Watari handle the meetings before since he had been in one when you were still sick but as I can see, you're ready enough. Your health's all better now, too."
The car stopped in front of the building and slowly, we were welcomed by some people. There were at least four women and six men in front of us until I understood what they are.
They were the employees who do work along my father. Also, they are human resource officers and accountants.
"Welcome, Chairman Arima and CEO William Arima," they all bowed their heads.
After that, my father cheerfully thanked them and asked them to return to their works inside the small bluish building which is pretty much really high tech.
When we got in the building, a very large chandelier greeted us and also, at the side of the chandelier is a brown piano. We kept on walking until we reach the second floor. There were a lot of empty spaces but at the end of the second floor was actually a big conference hall where the other Chief Executive Officers were all waiting for us to arrive already.
They all bowed at us after my father guided me to sit beside him and in front of the other Chief Executive Officers. I looked around the conference hall and found the place really light. At the center of the hall is a white board and a projector.
Lastly, I noticed that the third seat at my father's left is empty until my uncle, Nakiri Ryuu came in and sat beside him which actually made the hall filled with the Chief Executive Officers's murmurs and whispers.
Before we all sat down, I saw Watari Ryota walk behind me. I felt happy that he's here with me. My nervousness slowly vanished after a few minutes. They suddenly went silent when father coughed.
"Today is a big day for my son and to all of you as this is the day I finally introduce my son. As you all know, I sent my plans after my son was able to end the feud that grappled my family and the Nakiris for years. There will be a time that the Arima Group and Nakiri Group will merge. My son will hold that position in the future," he announced to all of them.
Father looked at me and ordered me to introduce myself.
"I am William 'Kousei' Arima, CEO of Arima Music Company. I'm twenty-three years old."
They all looked at me with surprised look on their faces until one of them spoke up. I guess, his name is Amano Midori, CEO of Arima Housing Company, one of our real estates. He's a thin, middle-aged man.
"Twenty-three? I couldn't believe that you already entrusted an enormous company to your young son, chairman! You took that position when you were twenty-nine!" he told him.
We all began to sit down after he spoke up. I have noticed that it was also a gathering of so many chief of staffs who stood behind all of us.
"My son finished college at the age of twenty in London. Most of all, he was brave enough to risk his life and end the feud that plagued our clans for years," he informed them that made them all impressed with me.
Nakiri Ryuu added, "Arima Kousei went straight at my office to talk to me even if he's not sure if I'm really an enemy or not."
"In the end, we learned the truth. My aunt finally approved of my father's plans and now, after a long struggle, he's now in front of you," my father told them.
I can't help but blush. They were saying everything I did in the past. I felt confident that my father's proud of me.
