Zero's POV:

Zero woke up as the sun rose and birds began chirping.

Callie: Marie I'm not crazy I think it was him-

Marie: I never said that you were crazy Callie but he's been MIA for four years.

Callie: I know but we are going to be late to work.

Zero grabbed his cape and went to inkopolis and found a perch overlooking at the squid sister's recording studio and took out his charger.

Not even an hour into guard duty A loud shriek came from the recording studio. Zero snapped into action and glided into the building landing on An Octoling who was aiming her octoshot at a small female octoling with purple hair with red tips. Her purple eyes grew wide as zero crashed through the window taking down the hypnotized octoling.

Zero heard another scream come from the recording studio. "No no no!' Zero thought as he raced up the stairs to find the door locked.

Zero Concentrated and ran at the door.

Lightning Arced from every inch of his being as he plowed through the door, down the hall, and into the recording room to find the wall blown open.

Zero scanned the room for any trace of Callie or Marie, instead, he found tape recording with the words 'Watch me' written on the side.

Zero: sunflower can you copy the data on this for me?

Sunflower: on it.

Sunflower scanned the Tape and recorded the message.

Sunflower: got it.

Zero nodded and leaped from the hole and glided to the nearest rooftop and jumped off.

Zero landed right on manhole leading to octo valley and entered to find captain cuttlefish frantically running in circles while DJ. Octavio was sleeping.

Zero:... Uhh, captan?

The captain turned to zero with fear very much so apparent in his eyes.

Captan: Zero please they took Callie and Marie plus agent three.

Zero: who exactly are they?

Captan: The Bloodlings.

Zero stood there for a second, grabbed his hero shot and ran out of octo valley. 'I refuse to lose Callie and Marie, I refuse to lose any more people than necessary.

Zero's POV:

Zero watched the recording he had found in the recording room of the studio and his eyes grew wide. The recording showed an unconscious Callie and Marie along with another inkling wearing a hero headset, hero jacket, and hero runners. Her ink color was yellow-green, her tentacles were longer than most inkling girls but not by a lot, he recognized her almost immediately, Agent 3.

A blood-red inkling boy with a gas mask came into view.

???: Hello Zero...

The figure was addressing him.

???: Come find me if you want to see your friends ever again. Well, at least alive.

He said the last part with his Wasabi splattershot at Callie's head.

The video cut to black.

Zero without even a second thought grabbed his hero shot along with his guardian weapon of choice.

Zero looked down at his custom made hand cannon called Horizon.

It had holographic projections on the side on the shape of angel wings.

'Just in case' he thought as he holstered the firearm and grabbed a few extra rounds.

He wrapped his cloak around him and took off down the street.

Past the manhole, past the lobby, past the stores, past the train and towards the city of dark. He would be the light in which all dark dissolves, he would be the fire in which all shadows die. And most of all he would be the one to but a bullet in Crypt's's head...

~time skip 4 hours later~

Sunflower buzzed around Zero as she patched him up, it had been four hours since he began his journey to save his friends when he finally could see it...

A warehouse in the middle of nowhere.

He thought about back when zero and Callie were dating how she should smile whenever he did something stupid or heroic, normally both.

How when he had gotten himself killed she cried.

How she was someone who cared about what happened to him.

Someone who he needed to be there for everyone.

As zero approached the front doors he noticed two Crimson haired inklings who were guarding the door.

Inkling1: you think he'll come?

Inkling2: I hope not with how Crypt talks about him he sounds scary.

Inkling1: I heard he used to be one of us.

Inkling2: I heard he's Callie's boyfriend.

As soon as the second inkling mentioned Callie he slammed their heads together, as they fell to the ground zero noticed the door and found no way to open it externally.

'No problem' zero thought as he concentrated on summoning and arc staff.

'Flow like lightning, strike like thunder.' he repeated in his head and spun the staff at the door and walked forward as the staff cut straight through the metal door and into the base.

Every bloodlingling insight turned to him. Zero grabbed two by the head and smashed them together with a loud cracking sound. With not a second to lose he immediately swiped five off their feet and on the floor out cold. 'Seven down two to go' he thought as he kicked one in the face and splatted the other.

He flipped into the ventilation system and began to head to the security room.

When he got there he took count of the guards eight troopers, six captains, and four commanders.

'Perfect' he thought as he dropped down in between the first two guards and shot one with his hero shot and kicked the other in the face.

The other six troopers surrounded him and cornered him. Zero smirked as he flipped off the wall onto two of the troopers and shot the other two with his hero shot and one of the trooper's splattershots.

The remaining troopers fell onto the captains and zero finished the captains off the commanders stood there frozen.

Zero looked them in the eye and gave them a death glare.

Zero: where is Callie?

The commanders still stood there.

Zero: I SAID WHERE IS CALLIE!!!

One commander shrieked as he was lifted by the collar of his shirt and thrown into the wall.

The second commander trembled as he was grabbed by the arm and thrown to the ground and splatted by zero's hero shot.

The final commander fainted.

Zero: That was easy.

Zero walked over to the console and entered the cameras.

He passed by them all until he saw it, three inklings unconscious on the ground.

Zero stormed out of the room. He climbed up the building to the skylight overlooking the room were Callie, Marie, and three where. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw an old man poke his head from a nearby sewer grate.

The moment mask came into view of zero was the moment mask felt zero's shoes on his face. At the same time, captain cuttlefish united Callie, Marie, and Three. Crypt stood and got to his feet aiming his splattershot at Callie's unconscious body and put his foot on her head.

Mask: Leave now, or she dies.

Mask fired off a warning shot letting Zero know he was serious.

Zero looked mask in the eyes and backed away slowly with his hand raised in the air.

Zero: Fine...

Zero snarled at mask and he walked out the door. Then as the doors were closing he shot Crypt with horizon and Crypt fell to the ground right over Callie. Zero stopped the doors from opening with a Knife and picked Callie up and moved her away from Crypt.

Captain cuttlefish: Thank you Zero.

Zero turned to the elderly squid and gave him a salute.

Zero: Anytime.

Zero then vanished into the darkness and left captain cuttlefish alone with his unconscious granddaughters and agent three. The captain sighed and waited for them to wake up.
