Shadow stood alone in the ballroom of Greenhaven (YES THEY HAVE A BALLROOM XD). She imagined all the past dances that had taken place in this room where she now stood alone. She knew how to dance, all she needed was music. If only there was a way to bring it to her without need for a band she could at least get the lyrics and that sweet melody of her voice could create at a little music. She imagined the instrument sat. It was hard at first, but when she opened her mouth and spoke the words it was like they where really there singing to herself. She crossed the room, her cloak flying out behind her. She didn't dance like a normal person, and would instead focus more on her arms twisting them and spinning in time with her song (AURORA dancing btw IT SO MUTCH FUNNNN XDDD, her fingers and hands moved as if she had magic between her fingers and she was waving it (Wandersmith XDD no but honestly that what it would have looked like SHADOW STOP MAKING REFEANCES NO ONE WILL GET XD) into something bigger.
"See, this is why I'm lucky," came a voice from the doorway. She snapped her mouth shut and looked across to see a figure leaning against the doorframe. The room was dark except for the moonlight filtering through the large windows, casting long square patches of light across the floor at evenly spaced intervals. The way the moon was the illuminating the building was perfect on this particular night, made them all very, very dim but one, and Shadow happened to be standing in that one there was no shadows from this figure. Even if she was one of them, she had been seen. The figure pushed off the doorframe and walked towards her. When he stepped into the light, Shadow was relieved to see it was Worthy. "I swear to Tellun Shadow, stop being so good at everything".
"I'm not good at everything." she said.
"Yes, you are!"
"I'm not,," she looked down. She knew no one was there and even if they had been, she and Worthy were married. He could compliment her all he wanted, and no one would see a thing out of place.
"You're good at singing and you're good at dancing."
"How long were you standing there?"
"And you're good at caring and loving."
"That's not answering my question."
"I know."
"Worthy?"
"Just listen to me."
"Not until you answer me."
"I'll answer you after!"
"Fine, but you have to answer me"
"Anyway, what I was saying is you are good at everything, though the thing that you're best at is loving me and-", he was stopped by her hugging him. "Oh, ok", he said hugging her back. "That was unexpected." She just hugged him.
"I'm grateful to have you Worthy. I don't deserve such a king".
"I'm not a king," he said, with a hint of longing in his voice.
"Yes you are!" she pulled back, "You are my king",
"And you are my queen", he said with a glint in his cat eyes then he took her hand and spun her she squealed. "Care to dance my queen?" he asked. She giggled and replied
"Of course my king".
"Well then dance, give me the song." Shadow nodded and sang. Worthy was a good dancer, he ought to be, after four wedding dances. There were flashes of light outside.
"What's that!?" asked Worthy, suddenly dropping Shadow's hand.
"Want to see?" Shadow knew exactly what that was and she knew he would love them. She took his hand, not waiting for a reply, and led him outside. She tilted his head up to look at the sky and there were hundred of dark blue crossings of light.
"Shooting stars," he said in awe. She put her head on his shoulder, and he put his arm around her as they watched the night sky.
"They say if you see a shooting star, you make a wish", said Shadow.
"But there are hundreds, and I don't even have one wish", replied Worthy.
"I have one," she said.
"Go on then".
"I wish that you will be mine forever". She could see him blushing. He pulled her closer.
"Nice wish there, love." he said. She felt some sort of electric energy explode inside of her when he referred to her as love.
"I have another one," said Shadow.
"It can't be better then the last." replied Worthy
"Oh, it most certainly can."
"Ok, then what is it?"
"You know, wishes don't come true if you say them out loud?"
"I can make that last wish true, and I can make this next one true too".
"Good, you better".
"Okay, what's the wish?"
"I wish that you will tell me how long you were standing in the doorway for".
"Shadow!" he pushed her away playfully.
"What!?" she giggled.
"Get back here you!"
"Nope!" and she ran off. He shook his head then began chasing her. She knew he was faster then him, but she was more agile. She headed for the woods and climbed up the first tree, taking the chance to climb to the treetops. Then she heard voices and she stopped. Worthy crashed into her. Both of the half-cat Redcloaks were good at climbing, but neither were good at falling. They both screamed as they fell and landed on the soft grass below. Worthy had landed on top of Shadow, practically crushing her.
"Oh my Tellun, I'm sorr!y" he said, jumping up and extending a hand to her. "Are you alright?"
"Ah," she winced. "I think you broke my ribs". She took his hand and he pulled her to her feet.
"Why did you stop?" he asked while checking her arm for broken bones. She pulled it away from him.
"I heard voices", she said.
"You sure you're alright?" he said, franticly looking her up and down. "I'm not that heavy, am I?"
"Lucky not", she laughed.
"And are your ribs really broken?"
"I'm not sure", she said, poking one experimentally. "No, I don't think so".
"I'm so sorry," he said.
"It's okay!" she said laughing. He pulled her into a hug.
"I'm still sorry".
"Stop apologizing," she said. "Come on, let's get to bed."
He nodded and they began to walk back towards Greenhaven, hand in hand. They pushed through some bushes and stopped there in the clearing. Beyond was Finn and Maya. Finn was sitting awkwardly, facing away from her wile Maya kept glancing over at him. Worthy went to walk on, but Shadow put her arm in his path and held her finger to her lips. Maya reached up to sort her hair then put her hand back on the ground. Only, she missed the ground and instead placed it on Finn's hand. She pulled it back as both the Greencloaks whipped their heads around to look at each other.
"I'm sorry!" she said hurriedly.
"No. No, it's okay." said Finn. He took her hand and placed it back on top of his. Shadow jerked her head in the direction of the castle and began to silently creep towards. She took to the treetops again. She was more stealthy when she didn't have Worthy with her, breaking branches but still keeping up. She turned around once or twice to see him jumping from tree to tree looking like a superhero, until his cloak snagged on a branch. She giggled and went to free it then dropped to the forest floor and sprinted all the way back to Greenhaven, with him chasing her. She crept inside careful not to wake anybody, then slipped quietly up the stairs and into her room. Worthy followed her all the way there.
"I was wondering," he said. "If we could try up tonight and spend some time together with just us."
"Of course," said Shadow. He sat down on her bed and she sat right next to him, wrapping her arms around him. He took her long back hair and began braiding it. She knew he would do a terrible job, but she didn't care.
"So, how long were you there for then?"
