"Hey, someone order tacos?"

Bruce looked up. "Beth?"

"Hey, Bruce." She was holding up a large brown bag that contained the tacos Bruce ordered for his lunch. "I ran into the delivery boy on the way in."

"What are you doing here?"

"What, you think Sam is going to be training the recruits alone? You know I can't keep myself out of the field. Us Bartons are pretty bad at that." She cleared her throat. "Though I think Clint's done for good now."

She walked over and handed the bag to Bruce who took it and placed it onto the table. The two stared awkwardly at each other in silence.

"Meow."

Beth looked down to see the black cat weaving around her feet. "Hey, Kasia."

Quite frankly, Kasia always got second-hand embarrassment whenever Bruce and Beth were together because they never seemed to know how to act around each other.

Beth met Bruce and the other Avengers when they came to Clint's farm during the events of Ultron. She was helping Laura with the kids and chores.

The next time she saw him was when at the compound when they were figuring out time travel. Natasha had called Beth that she found Clint and we're on their way to the compound.

"So, I'll just be going now," said Beth awkwardly.

"Yeah, right, uh - have fun." Bruce made a face.

"Right. You too."

After Beth left, Kasia looked at Bruce with an unimpressed face.

"What? Don't look at me like that!" exclaimed Bruce.

"Meow."

"She doesn't like me like that. No, she doesn't."

Kasia rolled her eyes before jumping up onto the table and pawing the brown bag. Bruce opened the bag and set down a taco for her before grabbing two for himself.

"Besides, my scars are still fresh," muttered Bruce before taking a bite out of a taco. "And why would she like me? I think Sam's pretty good for her."

Kasia said nothing as she nibbled on her taco, but her tail flicked around in the air. Bruce leaned back in his chair.

"What about spaghetti for dinner?"

She looked up and gave him a face.

"Hey, it's never too early to start thinking about dinner," he defended.
