The runway at the Thorndyke's garage as the X Tornado was getting ready to take off.

Tails: Stand by for take off! X Tornado, let's go!

The X Tornado started moving with Sonic on it while Tails, Amy, Chris and Danny being the only one inside.

Tails: Let's take off!

The X Tornado then took to the skies.

Tails: Hold on tight, Sonic, it's time to deploy our stabilizing wings.

The stabilizing wings and Chuck, Francis and Mr. Tanaka were seeing them off.

Francis: Do you think they'll be able to find that seventh emerald, Mr. Thorndyke?

Chuck: It's possible, but they're not the only ones who'll be looking for it.

Inside.

Ella, Y/n, Cream and Cheese were there.

Ella: Don't you worry, Creamy, they're going to find that emerald before you know it.

Cream/Cheese: Oh/Chao!

Y/n: Well, I'll go my way to start searching for it, see you.

Cream: Bye, Y/n, be safe.

Y/n nodded and ran out.

Ella: You really do love him, don't you?

Cream: I do. Ever since I met him, Y/n's been like the big brother I never had.

Ella: Well, I'm sure Y/n thinks the same about you being the little sister he never had.

Cream: Really?

Ella nodded and Cream smiled.

With the X Tornado.

Amy: Any signs of the emerald yet, Tails?

Tails: Nope.

Danny: Wow, this is so great.

Chris just stared at Sonic.

Danny: Hey, come on. Aren't you gonna help look?

Chris: Uh, yeah, sure.

Chris looked down sad.

Y/n ran on top of a building where he met up with Rouge.

Rouge: Hey, Y/n.

Y/n: Hi.

Rouge: So, you said you wanted to meet me here, may I ask why just me?

Y/n: Well, there's two things I want to talk to you about.

Rouge: Then why don't you sit down and let's talk.

Y/n sat next to Rouge.

Rouge: So, what's up?

Y/n: Well, the first thing is about our relationship.

Rouge: What about it.

Y/n: I don't want to lead you on, I just want be friends.

Rouge: May I ask why?

Y/n: Because at this point I'm not exactly what you would call an ideal significant other.

Rouge: Why wouldn't you? Your a nice guy.

Y/n: I am now, but I wasn't always this way. There was a time I murdered the people of our planet.

Rouge: Yeah, and I steal jewelry. Nobody's perfect, you know.

Y/n: Yeah, but I've been killing people to the point where I made myself quite the track record. Even though no one has seen my face, the Mobians have feared and revered me as, "The Monster of Mobius."

Rouge: If you're worried about how people would treat me I assure you I won't care. It's not like I'm welcomed in many towns either.

Y/n: I'm not worried about what anybody will think of you, I'm worried about you.

Rouge: About me?

Y/n looked at her and nodded his head.

Rouge: Why would you be worried about me?

Y/n: Well, (sigh) I haven't told Tails, Knuckles or anybody about this. But I had engaged in romantic partnerships with five different girls at different times, but because of my disregard for life back then, I verbally abused all of them to the point where they committed suicide.

Rouge was shocked to hear this.

Rouge: So, you're worried about that happening to me if we got together?

Y/n nodded.

Y/n: I don't know how long it going to take me to fix my flaws, but one things for sure, I don't wanna risk losing one of my friends.

He looked down.

Y/n: So, I'm sorry if you've gained feelings for me and wanted to be more than friends, but it's just the way I feel.

Rouge: I understand.

Y/n looked at her.

Y/n: You do?

Rouge: Yeah. Besides, it's not like I've gone completely bats for you and I know one day... (got closer to him) you'll be begging me to be yours.

Y/n: (smirk) You wish.

Rouge: But at least let me give you this.

She kissed him on the cheek.

Y/n: Thought you weren't bats for me.

Rouge: I can still kiss you. I mean, who could resist kissing a face as handsome as yours.

Y/n: Well, now on to the other thing I wanted to talk to you about.

Rouge: Which is?

Y/n: I kinda need that Chaos Emerald I gave you-

Rouge pulled out the Chaos Emerald from her purse.

Rouge: I'd figure you'd ask for it.

Y/n: Well, thanks, partner.

He took the emerald.

Y/n: I need gotta run. Hopefully I'll see you around.

He ran off.

Meanwhile.

Knuckles was walking around a forest with his Chaos Emerald in his hand.

Knuckles: This planet isn't so bad, I suppose, but I'd do anything to get back home. What did that voice say?

He thought back to when he saw an image of the Master Emerald and heard a female voice.

Female voice: The servers are the seven Chaos, with the Warrior of Lightning guiding them.

(A/n: I know it doesn't actually say that last part in the series, but for this story it does.)

Back to present.

Knuckles: We can only get back home if we find all seven Chaos Emeralds, but I still don't get this "Warrior of Lightning." Anyways... Sonic, Y/n and those guys have four. Eggman's got one. And then there's this one I got from Hawk. That makes six in all. But even if we find the last one, we'd still have to convince Eggman to give up his. And since Sonic and Eggman don't exactly see eye to eye and Y/n isn't exactly a big fan of Eggman either, we'll never get back home unless I can get them to work together.

Knuckles heard some kind of beeping sounds.

Knuckles: What's that?

He started walking to some tall grass and saw a small robot with a bell for a body with a four-leaf clover painted on its chest and the number seven on its forehead, a horseshoe attached to its chest, a chipmunk tail, two wings on its head, and two rabbit feet for feet on the ground struggling to get up.

Knuckles: Yeah, you must be Eggman's robot.

Knuckles helped it up and it revealed to have a ladybug on its back as he thanked Knuckles.

Knuckles: Yeah, what are you doing around here?

The robot pointed at a direction and when Knuckles followed it he gasped as he saw Eggman's base.

Knuckles: Maybe the emerald led me here somehow.

At Chris's school.

Mr. Stewart was writing equations on the board until the lunch bell rang.

Mr. Stewart: Lunch time, children.

All the children cheered except Chris who had a long face.

Francis: Chris, you want to eat lunch with us?

Chris didn't respond.

Danny: Yo, wake up.

Chris: Uh, ah, I'm not too hungry right now, guys.

Francis: Okay, we'll catch you later then.

Chris: Yeah, okay.

They both walked off and Chris looked down sad again which Mr. Stewart noticed.

Mr. Stewart: You know, I think you and I should visit the Counseling Office.

Chris: Uh, no thanks.

Mr. Stewart: Come on, Chris, let's go.

Chris eventually gave in and Mr. Stewart led him to the Counseling Office.

Mr. Stewart: Are you ready, Chris?

Chris: Yeah.

Mr. Stewart: Now, tell me, Chris, what's bothering you?

Chris: I don't know what's wrong with me. Lately, I'm feeling really confused.

Mr. Stewart: Like you're torn?

Chris: Yeah.

Mr. Stewart: I think I understand why. Part of you wants to help Sonic, Y/n and their friends return home, but another part of you doesn't wanna lose your new friends.

Chris: Huh?

Mr. Stewart: It's quite obvious that this conflict is creating a war deep within you, Chris.

Chris: You're right! That's just how I feel, Mr. Stewart.

Mr. Stewart: It's natural. But you must face the fact that one day your friends are going to return home.

Chris looked down.

Mr. Stewart: It's difficult. But you have to think of what's best for them.

Chris: I know.

Mr. Stewart put a hand on Chris's shoulder.

Mr. Stewart: Everything is going to be okay. I promise you.

Mr. Stewart left Chris alone to think.

At the white house.

The President was having a meeting with Rouge, Topaz and a bunch of his men.

President: So what you're saying, Rouge, is that the Chaos Control explosion that sent Eggman here was caused when the seven Chaos Emeralds came together?

Rouge: Right.

President: Yes, I see. So if we could create our own Chaos Control, then we might just solve our Eggman problem.

Topaz: I'm afraid it's not that simple.

President: Really? Why not?

Topaz: Mr. President, I think that we first need to consider the effects such an action could have on the safety of the planet.

Man: Like what?

President: Quiet. Go on, Topaz.

Topaz: Those emeralds might create a blast that could lead to total global destruction. Ask Rouge, she knows.

Rouge: She's right.

Topaz: Moving forward without careful consideration could create a worldwide disaster. I think it's wise to do everything we can to keep that from happening, sir.

President: I see. Perhaps until we can get Y/n in on this, we need to keep those emeralds apart.

Topaz: I believe so, sir.

President: Hmm. The question is, how do we manage to do that?

At the Thorndyke residence.

Chris walked up into the lab.

Chris: Hi, Ella.

Ella: Ah, hi, Chris, did you have a good day?

Chris: Yeah, where is everyone?

Ella: They're out looking for the Chaos Emerald again like usual. And grandpa's gone somewhere looking for new parts for his crazy machines. Thank goodness, I can finally clean up this mess now.

Ella hummed as she walked out of there leaving Chris alone in the empty lab.

Chris: The place seems empty. This is how it was before they all got here and how it's gonna be when they go.

He started to imagine Amy, Cream and Cheese sitting on the floor laughing, Tails reading, Y/n leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, and Sonic sitting on a chair giving a thumbs-up before the images faded away. Chris sighed and walked out of the lab.

Knuckles: Hello.

Chris looked at the garage door and saw Knuckles with his arms crossed standing with the bell robot.

Chris: Hey, Knuckles, what's going on?

Knuckles: Plenty.

Chris: Where'd you get that robot?

Knuckles: Well, it's not exactly mine. I think he belongs to Eggman. I found him just roaming around the forest. Seems pretty harmless, though.

The bell robot just beeped.

Knuckles: Are Sonic or Y/n around? I've got to talk to one of them about something.

Chris: Sorry, their out looking for the last emerald.

Knuckles: Then give them this message. "We have only one way to get back home. We've got to call a truce with Dr. Eggman."

Chris: A truce? That'll never happen!

Knuckles: It has to.

Chris: But how? They're sworn enemies.

Knuckles: The only way any of us will get back home is to team up with Eggman. I know it might sound crazy, and it may even be impossible, but I have to convince Sonic and Y/n that this is the only chance we've got. We've all been away from home for way too long now. And I'm not about to let anything stand in our way of getting back there.

Chris: (Thinking: Knuckles is right. I'm being selfish. I've got to do whatever I can to help them.) All right, Knuckles, I'll give them your message.

Knuckles: Meanwhile, I'll pay a visit to our friend Eggman.

Chris: How will you know where to find him?

Knuckles: Heh, I think spotted his ship over at Forest Hill. Bye.

Knuckles was about to walk out of there but Chris stopped him.

Chris: Knuckles. Mind if I come along?

Knuckles: Why not?

All three of them walked out of there and headed for the train station and got tickets.

Chris: The express train will get us to Forest Hill in no time at all.

Man on speaker: Final boarding call. Forest Hill express, track 29.

Knuckles and Chris quickly ran to the train and were lucky able to catch it in time. They eventually made it to Forest Hill and walked on the path.

Knuckles: Don't worry, Chris, just stay calm and I'll do all the talking.

He turned back and finally realized the bell robot wasn't with them.

Knuckles: Hey, the robot! Well, easy come, easy go.

They continued walking.

At Eggman's base.

The alarms went off and Decoe saw Knuckles and Chris approaching them.

Decoe: Oh! Dr. Eggman, enemy approaching.

Bocoe: Prepare to launch attack.

Bocoe was about to hit the attack button but Eggman grabbed his wrist.

Eggman: Wait.

Bocoe: But, Dr. Eggman.

Eggman: Look there.

Chris was waving a white flag indicating that they come in peace. Eggman let them in and they started talking.

Knuckles: Think of it this way. If we team up, we get the emeralds together and Chaos Control sends us straight home. But if we keep fighting like this, we'll all be stuck here for good, and that's bad.

Eggman: Mmm. Yes, yes, yes, that's right. I'd never thought of it that way. (grumbles) How could I've been such a brainless greedy old fool? Knuckles, I don't know how to thank you.

Knuckles: The pleasure is all mine, Dr. Eggman.

Chris sighed in relief.

Eggman: However, I do have one condition.

Knuckles: What's that?

Eggman: That you allow me to hold on to your Chaos Emerald.

Chris: You hold it?

Eggman: Come now, don't you trust me? Nothing is more important between allies than trust. If you're asking me to trust you, the least you can do is trust me.

Chris: What do you think?

Knuckles: You can hold it.

Eggman: (laughs in joy) Thanks, Knuckles, we make a great team.

They both shook hands.

Chris: (Thinking: Well, he did it. I guess it was the right thing, but I don't think Sonic or Y/n are gonna like it.)

They both left.

Eggman: Well, well, well. Who would have thought our little friend Knuckles was such an honest fellow? As a matter of fact, I'd say he's honest to a fault.

Bocoe: What do you mean?

Eggman: I mean, our naive little knucklehead is playing right into my hands.

At the Thorndyke's garage.

It was night time and the TV was playing.

Purple Monster: Okay kids, it's that time again. Everybody dance!

Cream and Cheese danced with the monster while the others watched and that's when Chris came back.

Chris: Hey, I'm home.

Chuck/Tails: Huh?

Chuck: Chris, it's late. Where have you been all this time?

Chris: Sorry, I was over at Danny's house studying. Oh, by the way, did you guys find any Chaos Emeralds today?

Tails: We didn't find anything, Chris.

Chris: Ah, that's good. Oh, I mean that's bad.

Cream and Cheese started crying.

Chris: Guys, what's wrong?

Cream: My favorite program won't be on next week.

Cheese: Chao, chao, chao.

Chris: Huh, is that all?

Y/n: Don't worry, Cream, I recorded a few episodes for you.

Cream: Oh, thanks, Y/n.

Chris started looking at the Chaos Emeralds.

Tails: We'll find that last emerald, won't we?

Chuck: You bet we will, Tails.

Sonic: Well, I think I'll go for a run.

Y/n: Mind if I come along?

Sonic: I don't see why not.

They both ran out of there and Chris ran after them.

Chris: Sonic, Y/n, wait up.

Everyone: Huh?

Chuck: That was strange. Wonder what's wrong.

The three of them talked right outside the garage.

Sonic: So, what's up?

Chris: Well, Sonic and Y/n, I guess you both must get pretty homesick, being on a different planet and all.

Sonic: Eh. I don't think about it too much. Why?

Chris: Huh? Oh, uh. My teacher, Mr. Stewart, says hi.

Sonic: That's nice.

Sonic ran off.

Chris: I bet Sonic's just as homesick as the rest of 'em. He's just afraid to admit it. Poor guy.

Y/n: Are you trying to convince me of that statement or yourself?

Chris: Oh, Y/n, I didn't realize you were still here. What about you? Do you ever feel homesick?

Y/n: I do not. As I said, I won't have a home to return to or anybody to welcome me home.

Chris: I'm sure Sonic or Tails could work something out with their town.

Y/n: And if they don't, I'll take any punishment their village sees fit.

He ran off too.

Chris: I feel so sorry for Y/n. I mean, it's not his fault he got mentally destroyed.

Later that night.

Chris went to the train station with a backpack where and Knuckles was waiting for him with his arms crossed.

Knuckles: Did you get them?

Chris: Uh-huh, I didn't tell anybody I took them though.

Knuckles: It's not like we're doing anything wrong. Once they find out what we did, they'll probably be grateful. Come on.

They both got aboard the train.

At Forest Hill.

Topaz and a bunch of other agents were searching around.

Topaz: The signals coming from somewhere around here. Just be on your guard, boys.

The agents nodded and scattered, that's when Rouge hang upside from a tree.

Rouge: Why am I hanging around?

Topaz: Just keep watch. We're going to find that emerald.

Rouge: Yeah, okay. Oh, by the way, I know where it is.

Topaz gasped and went to a tall cliff where they could see Eggman's base.

Topaz: Wow.

She got out her walkie-talkie.

Topaz: Chief, I think we found it.

At the white house.

One of the President's man barched into his office.

Man: Mr. President, good news, sir, we found Eggman's base.

President: Hmm, let's make the call.

Man 2: Right.

Man 2 called someone on the office phone.

Man 2: Report to Area 99, dispatch the beetle immediately.

Back with Topaz and Rouge.

Topaz: You ready?

Rouge: Sure, oh, hold on.

She saw Knuckles and Chris approaching the base.

Topaz: Why are those two here?

At the Thorndyke's garage.

Sonic and Y/n finally got back.

Sonic: Hey, we- huh?

They saw everyone with conserd faces.

Sonic: Oh, what's up?

Cream: Chris took the Chaos Emeralds.

Y/n: He what?!

Cheese: Chao, chao, chao.

Sonic: But why?

Chuck: He left us a letter explaining why. "I'm taking the emeralds so that you can all get back home very soon." Huh, I can't understand why in the world he would do something so foolhardy.

Y/n: Chuck, you may be a genius, but that doesn't mean you can't be a fool.

Chuck: What do you mean?

Y/n: Think of it this way. We had four Chaos Emeralds and both Knuckles and Robotnik had one each, Knuckles probably thought we could've made some kind of truce with Dr. Robotnik, so he got Chris involved and that's what led us to here.

Amy: No matter what the reason, we better go look for him, Chuck.

Tails: Chris took the Chaos Emerald from inside the X Tornado, too! We can only fly it in normal mode now.

Y/n: That might be true, but what Chris doesn't know is that he didn't leave us completely emeraldless.

They all looked at him as he opened a secret door and pulled out the light blue Chaos Emerald which surprised everyone.

Tails: But, how?

Y/n: Thinking something like this might happen, I thought about making fake Chaos Emeralds and hiding the real ones. Unfortunately, I only had enough time to copy this one and the copy is the one that Chris took.

Tails: Than we could use it to power up the X Tornado.

Y/n: I'm afraid not Tails, I need to go confront Chris about this and I might need this emerald to defend myself if things get tough.

Tails: Okay, I understand.

Y/n ran out of there and Sonic followed after him.

Amy: Where's Sonic going?

At Eggman's base.

Chris and Knuckles entered the meeting room of Eggman's base where Eggman greeted them with a smile.

Eggman: Ah, my new friends, welcome.

Knuckles: We brought them.

Chris lad his backpack on the table.

Eggman: Let me see.

Chris unzipped the backpack and the Chaos Emerald were in there.

Eggman: Oh my! Aren't they lovely? And I have my Chaos Emerald right here.

Eggman placed the ring box with his emerald in it on the table.

Eggman: I could open the box and show it to you, but it's not safe to expose it to the others.

Knuckles: Not yet.

At the train station.

Sonic and Y/n were showing a picture of Chris to a police officer.

Police: Yeah, I saw him. Let's see, I think he got on the 4:00 train to Forest Hill.

Sonic: To Forest Hill?

Back at Eggman's base.

Eggman: I'll hold on to the emeralds and put them in the safe place.

Chris: Huh?

Knuckles: Okay, doc.

Decoe: Excuse me, Doctor. There is an urgent call from Lucky.

The TV in the room turned to the bell robot beeping something.

Eggman: What? You discovered the last Chaos Emerald in a pile of garbage? Well done! Stay where you are. I'll come to you.

Chris: Dr. Eggman, did he really find it?

Eggman: Of course he did. Building a robot who brings good luck was my most brilliant stroke of genius.

Bocoe: Does this mean we are out of a job?

Decoe: No such luck.

Eggman: Well, we have them all, don't we?

Chris: That's great!

Knuckles: Yeah, now I can finally go home.

Eggman: Ha! Okay!

Decoe pushed a button and Knuckles fell through a trap door.

Chris: What do you think you're doing, Eggman?

Eggman: (laughing) Wise up. You didn't really believe that I was homesick like your loser friends, did you? The only thing I care about is establishing the Eggman Empire. I can do that on my planet or yours. It makes no difference to me.

Chris: Then you lied to us, didn't you?

Eggman: (laughing) Ready the Egg Fort II for takeoff.

Decoe/Bocoe: Aye, aye!

The Egg Fort II was getting ready to takeoff.

Rouge: He's leaving.

Topaz: HQ come in, emergency!

Knuckles dropped out of the Egg Fort II.

Knuckles: Eggman!

The Egg Fort II and that's when Sonic and Y/n arrived.

Sonic: Where's Chris?

Knuckles: Up there. Eggman has him in his ship along with all the Chaos Emeralds.

Y/n: What have you done, Knuckles?!

Knuckles: I'm sorry, I really thought Eggman was willing to work with us.

The Egg Fort II took off.

Y/n: We'll discuss a punishment for you later. Come on, Sonic!

They both ran after the Egg Fort II.

Knuckles: Good luck, Sonic and Y/n!

Sonic and Y/n were in hot pursuit of the Egg Fort II.

Narrator: Will Sonic and Y/n stop Eggman in time to save their friends? How will Y/n use the light blue Chaos Emerald to his advantage? Find out next time.
