"Stop right there, varmints!" Done It ordered.

"I hate this place!" Sonic and Gwen said in unison, glaring at the Council.

Mr. Doctor Eggman angrily points at them.

"Destroy them!"

Eggforcers fly at Sonic, Gwen, and Nine. Sonic and Gwen spins and knocks them at the Council. Nine types the password as he got in.

"Thanks for stopping by." Sonic winked as the doors closes in front of the Council.

"I've locked the Chaos Council out of the system, but it won't last long." Nine informed them.

"Don't tell me we're trapped in here?" Sonic asked in exasperation.

"Are you kidding?" Gwen raised her eyebrow, as if stating the obvious.

"This is all going according to my plan." Nine said, finishing her sentence.

Suddenly, they heard a loud thud and turned to see Babble's bot outside of the broken window.

"I'll get you!" Babble said.

He then fires his rattle. Sonic, Gwen, and Nine dodge it.

"Did you plan for that?" Sonic questioned to the rattle.

"That? No." Nine deadpanned.

Babble fires at Sonic. Gwen activates a shield from her ruby and blocks his attack. Sonic grabs Gwen and runs to the shard case. The two pushes it with Nine on top as the doors open. They speed through them and more doors open. Sonic, Gwen, and Nine start down the stairwell.

"Stop! The Council thinks we're going down..."

Nine takes out a regulator ring that Sonic and Gwen wears. The trio lean over to the edge.

"...but we are taking a different path."

Nine drops down the stairwell.

"Nice one." Gwen smiled.

"Oh, things are finally coming together. We've got the Shards. We can finally fix everything!" Sonic said happily.

"It's going to be perfect!" Nine added, looking happy.

Just then, an army of Eggforcers fly down the stairwell. Behind the grate on the landing, Sonic, Gwen, and Nine stand with the case in the tunnel. Gwen notices the light beneath them.

"Why aren't they powering down?" she asked.

"Yeah, we have the Shards!" Sonic said.

"Residual prism energy stored in the Mothership. They're not powering down any time soon." Nine explained.

In a large room, two Eggforcers stand guard in front of the Shatterdrive. Nine takes off another grate and steps in. He sees his craft and the guards. Sonic and Gwen watches Nine creep behind on his tails. Nine jumps on top of the Shatterdrive and goes to the front and zaps the guards.

"Nine, you are full of surprises." Sonic smiled.

"If you like surprises, wait 'til you see what I've got going on in the Grim." Nine said, taking out the blue shard and bringing it to his craft.

"Grim?" Gwen questioned.

"Cool, can't wait to hear more! But right now we gotta get to Ghost Hill." Sonic said.

"Ghost Hill?" Nine asked as he connected the shard.

"Yeah! It's just like the real deal, plus it's got a fourth Shard and this blueprint 'thingy'." Sonic explained.

"Ghost Hill is our home. Our real home." Gwen said.

"Blueprint?" Nine scratched his head in thought.

The case attaches to the bottom of the Shatterdrive. Nine's eyes lit up in realization.

"That's the key to putting the prism back together!"

"Exactly!" Sonic said.

"How do we get to this Ghost Hill?" Nine asked.

But then, he looks past Sonic and Gwen as Eggforcers fly in through sets of doors.

"We'll clear the path, you get the Shards out of here!" Gwen said, taking out her katana.

Sonic spins at one group of Eggforcers and knocks them out. Gwen roller skates at another group and finishes them by slicing them off into pieces. On the Shatterdrive, Nine pushes buttons.

Outside, Babble's bot looks down as the large door opens. It flies down to it and lands in front of them as Babble screams angrily.

"Ugh! The baby again!" Sonic groaned in frustration.

"I really don't like that baby." Gwen deadpanned.

Sonic and Gwen spins at the bot. They dodges fire and knocks it away. Sonic and Gwen jumps aboard as the Shatterdrive takes off and flies away. Babble cries, punching its fists against the ground while lying on his back.

"Go, go, go!" Sonic urged.

"Next stop, prism blueprint." Nine smiled.

In the corridor, Dread fights off Eggforcers and runs off, dodging the fires. He runs outside and takes out his telescope to see Gwen in the Shatterdrive.

"Gwen..." he said softly.

Nine flies to the green portal.

"The portal shouldn't have been left open this long. They're decaying." he explained.

"Do you think we can go through them?" Sonic asked.

"I don't trust them, they look unstable." Nine said.

He heard warning beeps as Nine flies. Eggforcers chases after them. Nine moves his controls as he makes his craft turn and dodges fires, shooting Eggforcers ahead of it.

"Ha-ha! Mess with our best bud, and you get blasted!" Sonic grinned.

Nine grins and shakes his head a little while Gwen smiles. Nine flies to the Shatterdrive toward the Yoke. He goes straight up and moves.

"Whoo-hoo!" Sonic and Gwen cheered as the craft moves gracefully.

"That was epic!" Gwen said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Nine chuckles.

"Yes, it was."

He looks down at the his screen as he builds up energy. The Shatterdrive shoots it and opens the portal.

"Ha, ha, ha! Nothing's gonna stop us now!" Sonic said.

Gwen looks over and gasps. She glares at her brother.

"Don't jinx!"

As if on cue, the Yolkomotive that Gwen saw earlier fires at the Shatterdrive. Sonic screams as the craft spins. Nine quickly pulls out of the dive.

"Will you stop saying stuff like that?" Nine glared at Sonic.

"No matter how fast you are, time always catches up." Deep said through the Yolkomotive. "Time, and the Chaos Council—"

"Will you just blast them already?!" Done It shouted.

Deep shrinks and presses the button. The Yolkomotive shoots the part off the Shatterdrive. Nine  struggles to control it.

"Ugh. We're going down!" Nine shouted.

The Shatter Drive flies over a street. The Yolkomotive hits the shard case.

"The Shards." Gwen gasped.

The Shatter Drive lands hard and spins to a stop.

"You okay?" Sonic asked with concern.

"The Shatterdrive is down. Go get the Shards!" Nine said, opening the hatch.

Sonic and Gwen jumps out and runs and skates for the case in the street. Deep sees that and growls. The Yolkomotive fires at them, who leaps. They get the case and push it. In the Shatterdrive, Nine picks up the blue shard.

"Nine, get down!"

Sonic and Gwen runs and skates toward him as the Yolkomotive fires. Nine ducks with the shard.

"Whoa!" he exclaimed.

A shot lands near Sonic and Gwen. Another hits the Yolkomotive. The Kraken flies at it, firing. It flies over the Yolkomotive. Sonic and Gwen stops pushing, waving up at the Kraken.

"Alright, Rusty and Black Rose!" Gwen cheered.

Rusty looks down at the smoking craft.

"Who is useless now?" she mocked.

"Oh, that traitor will pay for that!" Deep growled, moving the control.

The Kraken chases the Yolkomotive away.

"Ha-ha!" Sonic laughed heartily, turning to Nine. "Me and sis can get us to the Void."

Nine puts the blue shard back in the case. Eggforcers approach in the air.

"But right now, we need to move. Come on!" Gwen urged.

Nine rides on the case as Sonic and Gwen pushes the case faster.

"How can you get us to the Void?" Nine asked.

"Well, I don't want to get all science-y, but basically, I run fast and boom... a portal opens." Sonic said.

"Same for me." Gwen added.

"And you've down this lots of times? Turn right!" Nine said.

Sonic and Gwen pushes through the alley.

"Not exactly lots of times..." Sonic said.

"How many? Make a left." Nine said.

"Once on purpose, and I wasn't pushing a giant Shard case. But it was super cool!"

"Turn right!"

Sonic and Gwen turns onto the street. Eggforcers keeps chasing after them, firing. The hedgehog siblings dodges them.

"Ugh, we'll never get up to speed with all these Eggforcers on us!" Gwen groaned.

"Sorry pal, but I think we're going to have to use one of those portals to escape." Sonic said sadly.

"It's not a good idea. It portals directly into another Shatterspace. They can't be stable." Nine stated.

The Kraken keeps chasing as the trio look up.

"Well, they came through and they're okay." Sonic pointed out.

"Alright, fine." Nine said in defeat.

"Through the portals it is!" Gwen said, picking up speed along with Sonic.

They run toward the Yoke when three more Eggforcers fly at them. Nine spins his metal tails and he, Sonic, and Gwen flies with the case. The Eggforcers smashes into each other, creating an explosion. Nine, Sonic, and Gwen descend to a ramp. Sonic winked before he and Gwen pushes the case and Nine up to a ramp through the portal. They fly off the end and go through the blue portal.

In No Place, Nine screams as the case bounce off the surface of the sea, which causes him to fly up. Gwen quickly creates water hand to grab Nine and places him back on the case.

"Gotcha!" Gwen said.

"Thanks." Nine said.

"No problem. That's what friends do."

This made Nine smile. Sonic looks up ahead.

"Buildings? Here?" he questioned.

"That doesn't look good." Gwen frowned.

Another ship flies out of the red portal to reveal Don't and Babble piloting it. It starts firing at Sonic, Gwen, and Nine, to which the two hedgehog siblings dodges them. Eggforcers fly out from the front. Sonic and Gwen pushes the case between the buildings and the Eggforcers chases after them.

"Two on your six." Nine instructed. "Can't you go any faster?"

"Not on this water. We'll never build up enough speed like this." Sonic said before he and Gwen cut around the corner.

The Eggforcers go straight into a wall. Sonic and Gwen finds the Angel's Voyage.

"There be no wind in me sails! Curse these buildings." Batten ranted.

"Ahoy, guys!" Sonic greeted.

"Ahoy!" Gwen waved at them.

"Sonic! Gwen! You be back!" Batten smiled, flying over to them. "Ye got yer own boat!"

"This isn't a boat." Nine stated.

Sails comes up next to Batten with Catfish.

"Technically, anything that floats be a boat." he explained.

Sails looks at Nine and his eyes widens as they stare at each other.

"Actually, we're just passing through. Any chance you could help us out?" Sonic asked.

"Helping you out only brings more trouble, but if you could sweeten the deal?" Batten said.

"How about that one?" Gwen pointed ahead.

They turned to see the Council's ship. Sonic grins as Gwen finished her sentence.

"Wouldn't you like another crack at these guys?" she asked with a grin.

"Argh! They really put the bog in me boots and I've been itching to use the cannons."

Catfish brings out the cannons.

"Thanks, Batten!!" Sonic and Gwen said in unison before they took off with the case.

On top, Nine looks back at Sails, who waves. As soon as they left, they started shooting fireworks as they explode around the Council's ship. Nine starts flying as Sonic and Gwen holds on, heading through the red portal.

In New Yoke, they landed on the deck with the case.

"Having friends in all the Shatterspaces comes in handy. Just wait 'til you meet Tails. You're gonna love him!" Sonic said happily.

"Yeah, he's just as smart as you!" Gwen added.

Suddenly, they heard a thud and turned to see Dread landed in front of them.

"Dread??" Gwen and Sonic said in unison.

"Gwen." Dread said, running over to Gwen and cupping her face.

This caught Sonic and Nine off guard by Dread's sudden gentleness towards Gwen.

"Ye alright?" he asked.

"I'm okay, Dread. Really." Gwen assured him with a smile.

Dread smiled in relief as the two were having a moment when Rebel flies from above and drop Knucks. Knucks lands in between Gwen and Dread.

"What do you think you're doing?" Knucks sneered.

"Checking on me first mate?" Dread sneered back, stating the obviousness.

"Your first mate? I think you're mistaken."

"Mistaken? Ye thought wrong."

Gwen gets annoyed and pushes them away from each other by placing her hands on their chest.

"Guys, knock it off. We have a bit of a situation right now." she scolded.

"Sis is right, but you guys should be friends!" Sonic said.

"Not gonna happen. I already have enough friends. Gwen included." Knucks said.

"The only friend I need is me beauty Gwen." Dread said.

This made Gwen sigh at this.

"Gwen's right. The Council's forces are converging on you." Rebel said to Sonic. "You brought the trouble. Now take it with you."

"We've got bigger problems." Nine said, pointing at something ahead.

They turned to find Eggforcers flying down.

"We need to go." Nine urged them.

"We'll buy you some time." Rebel said.

"I'll see you later, guys." Gwen said to Dread and Knucks.

"Ye be careful, Gwen." Dread said.

"For once, I agree. Don't die on us." Knucks said.

"I promise." Gwen assured.

Sonic, Gwen, and Nine rush off. Rebel flies over and smashes the Eggforcers as Knucks and Dread punches the other Eggforcers. The trio then get the case to another ramp when more Eggforcers chase after them. They all speed toward the green portal and then fly through it.

In Boscage Maze, Sonic, Gwen, and a screaming Nine go down as Eggforcers into bare tree branches, dropping through the canopy. With the case, they speed down vines and roots and land on the grass.

"That was..." Nine started.

"Fun, right?" Sonic said.

"Yeah, you get used to it." Gwen added.

"Once we put the prism back together, things will be nonstop awesome all the time in Green Hill." Sonic said happily before he and Gwen pushes back the case.

"Green Hill?" Nine questioned.

Suddenly, the Mothership comes through the portal  and more Eggforcers fly down.

"Chaos Council's not playing around." Sonic glared.

"Man, are they annoying." Gwen groaned.

"They won't stop coming until they have the Shards. We need to get to the Void. Now." Nine urged them.

"Agreed. We just need a runway." Sonic said.

Three Eggforcers fire at Sonic, Gwen, and Nine. Sonic and Gwen pushes the case between the stumps. Nine looks ahead and sees the Scavengers. Gnarly tries to pull down the lamppost with T'Challa attempting to push it down.

In a slow motion, Sonic and Gwen passes them. Nine and Mangey stare at each other with wide eyes. Then at full speed, Sonic and Gwen runs and skates on. The two hedgehog siblings looks at buildings.

"This deforestation and commercial construction is really starting to tick me off." Sonic said in annoyance.

"No kidding." Gwen agreed.

"You're not the only one..."

Thorn and Birdie hit the Eggforcers.

"...and your friend looks a lot like Mangey." Thorn said.

"Who's that?" Nine asked in shock.

Thorn jumps down and approaches them.

"Thorn Rose, meet Tails Nine." Sonic introduced.

"It's just Nine." Nine corrected him.

"What have you done now?" Thorn demanded to Sonic.

"Not me. Them!" Sonic pointed up at the Mothership.

"I won't let them do more damage to my jungle." Thorn glared, gripping onto her hammer.

Everything in the jungle shakes.

"An earthquake! Now? Can't Mother Nature see we're trying to save reality?" Sonic exclaimed.

"That was no earthquake, bro." Gwen said grimly.

"Look!" Nine pointed to the case.

A gap in the case glows red. Sonic backs away from it.

"That's not good."

"Their powers are intensifying because of the close proximity. The case won't hold them much longer." Nine explained, sealing the case with his metal tails.

"Can you clear a runway?" Gwen asked Thorn.

She nods and jumps on Birdie.

"For Boscage Maze!"

They fly above the canopy as Birdie screeches with Thorn letting out her warrior scream. The Kraken and the Yolkomotive fly through Boscage. Rusty presses buttons, making the Kraken fire. The Yolkomotive swoops and hits Eggforcers. Rusty and Black Rose saw something zoom past them and watch Thorn and Birdie. Thorn hits Eggforcers with her hammer and Birdie breaks one apart with her talons. Thorn leaps at an Eggforcer with her warrior scream and slams it down before landing back on Birdie.

"Who is that??" Rusty and Black Rose both asked in unison.

In the jungle, Sonic and Gwen finally managed to pick up speed.

"Gotta go fast!!" Sonic yelled out.

"Keep going!!" Gwen yelled back.

Blue and purple streaks appear around the two. Pushing Nine and the case, they vanished.

In the Void, Sonic lets the case go, looking tired. This made Gwen and Nine worry as they're slowly moving away from Sonic.

"Sonic!!" Gwen and Nine called out as they drift through the void.

Gwen looks ahead and is relieved to see Shadow, who flies toward them and slows down.

"It's about time." Shadow said.

"Sorry. We have a lot of setbacks there." Gwen apologized.

Sonic smiles and flies to them, landing on the purple rocks.

"Nine, meet Shadow, Shadow, meet Nine." he introduced.

Gwen moves over next to Shadow as Shadow pushes the case with the help of his air shoes. Nine looks at Shadow.

"You're not another version of Sonic. But you could be twins!"

This made Gwen snicker as Shadow looks unamused.

"Hardly, I am the ultimate life form." Shadow said.

"Don't listen to him. Come on!" Sonic said.

They all head for the yellow gateway.

In Ghost Hill, Sonic and Gwen lands on the grass as Shadow and Nine sets down the case.

"As long as I'm around, you'll always have a wingman." Ghost Hill Tails said. "And Gwen, I will be a man you always see me as!"

Sonic and Gwen watches those versions of their friends and smiles.

"The forest is the most beautiful place on earth." Ghost Hill Amy said.

"I don't need the details. Just tell me who to smash." Ghost Hill Knuckles said. "And uh, Gwen, uh... y-you're the amazing person I've ever met."

Shadow stands besides Gwen and growls at Sonic.

"Sycophantic wish fulfillment." he said, making Gwen glare at him.

Nine approaches them, looking around.

"This world, it's like an embryonic Shatterspace, like it got stuck in the blueprint phase while forming. Hmm. Perhaps it would be useful in finishing the Grim—"

"...but I get things done." Ghost Hill Rouge said. "Say Gwen, wanna go for a date sometime?"

Nine stops and steps towards Ghost Hill Tails, who hovers above the ground.

"As long as I'm around, you'll always have a wingman. And Gwen, I will be a man you always see me as!" Ghost Hill Tails repeated.

"This is the friend Sonic and Gwen thought was like me?" Nine scoffed. "We're nothing alike."

Shadow watches with a suspicious glare. Just then, everything shakes and the ghosts glitches. This made Gwen worried.

"What just happened?" Shadow asked in alarm.

"Another reality quake. We don't have much time. We need to hurry." Nine urged.

"Follow me."

Shadow skates towards Ghost Temple Mountain as Sonic and Gwen follows, pushing the case with Nine on top. In front of the Prism blueprint, Shadow, Sonic, and Nine open the case. Seeing those Shards made Gwen back away from them and the Prism blueprint.

"It's finally over. Now we just have to rebuild the prism!" Sonic said.

He was about to reach over to the shards when Nine stopped him.

"Stop! It's not that simple. The alignment must be perfect. The slightest variation could have massive repercussions." he explained. "People, places, and things can be ripped from existence. One small mistake, and poof! Reality is changed forever."

Sonic stare at him for a moment before scratching his head.

"Tiny details are not my thing." he said sheepishly.

"I can do it. I just have to make some calculations." Nine said.

"How can we help?" Sonic asked.

"I need to be left alone to work. No distractions. Too many in a tight space. I don't want anything to go wrong. But Gwen can stay here. I need to talk to her." Nine said, looking at Gwen with a hint of worry.

Gwen caught on what he means by that and nodded.

"Yeah, sure."

"You sure that's okay?" Shadow asked, not wanting her to be alone with Nine.

"Don't worry. I'll be okay with Nine. He helped me. I can trust him." she assured him.

Shadow hesitated for a moment and nodded.

"I'll take Sonic outside. Best to keep him away." he said.

"Thanks for putting it together, buddy. This is why we're a great team." Sonic gave Nine thumbs up.

Sonic, Gwen, and Nine high five and smile. Shadow leads Sonic out. Sonic looks back and waves. Nine and Gwen waves back.

"First things first, I've got to stabilize the Shard energy."

"You want to talk about what happened back there?" Gwen asked, looking down.

Nine stops and looks at Gwen with worry.

"Yeah. Are you going to be alright?"

"I... I think so."

"Did you tell Sonic?"

"No... I don't want him to worry."

Nine approaches her and takes her hand. Gwen looks at him, who looks determined.

"As soon as we fixed this, I'll find a way to get the Shard out of you before anything happens to you, I promise."

"Thanks, Nine." Gwen smiled. "So, what can I do to help?"

"You can help me by telling me if I found the right shape of these blueprints." Nine said, pushing the case towards the prism blueprint.

"Sweet."

Outside, Shadow talks to Sonic.

"How do you know you can trust him?" he asked.

"Trust is an issue for you, Shadow. That's why you don't have any friends." Sonic said.

"I don't think your friend wants the same thing we do. And I'm worried for Gwen's safety."

"Hey, cheer up! We're so close to this all being over! Once Nine rebuilds the Paradox Prism, and Green Hill reforms, everything will finally be back to normal. We did it!"

Oh, Sonic shouldn't have said that. They heard a crackling sound and Sonic froze and slowly turned to see a yellow portal opens and the Mothership arrives. Shadow turns and glares at Sonic, who smiles nervously.

"I may have spoken too soon."

Mr. Doctor Eggman looks at the mountain from the screen.

"A new world, with yet another Shard!"

He then let out an evil laugh and place his fingers together.

"Wonderful."
