"I think he's coming too..."

"Let's hope so, otherwise she'll flip."

Shadow's eyes opened slowly, a bright light momentarily blinding him. His ears twitched to the familiar voices, but he couldn't see properly. Confusion wrapped his mind, why was he on the ground? Why was he unconscious? The moments from before were hazy, he couldn't remember a thing.

"About time." He felt hands clasp around his arms, hoisting him to his feet. In front of him stood a blue blur and a red blur, "That was quite a fall. Are you okay?"

The dark hedgehog shook his head, trying to regain focus, before rubbing his head, "What happened...?"

"You don't remember? Ow!"

"Give him a break Sonic, it was pretty shocking news to all of us."

"Didn't need to hit me..."

Finally Shadow was able to see the two in front of him, Sonic rubbing his arm and Knuckles with his arms crossed. The sight, although normal, had the hedgehog in more confusion.

"To be honest Shadow, we didn't know you had it in you." Knuckles chuckled.

"Have what in me...?" He tilted his head.

The two looked at each other, "(Y/N)'s pregnant..."

Shadow stared at them, before it clicked and he groaned, "That's why I was on the floor..."

"Yeah, you passed out big time." Sonic chuckled.

Knuckles punched him again, "Shut it Sonic, this is clearly a shock for him."

Shadow's head spun, as if he was about to pass out again, and the two had to hold onto him, concerned looks across their muzzles.

"You bet it's a shock. It shouldn't even be possible..." The dark hedgehog said, "I'm a creation, not a creator..."

"Well now you are both! Ow! Knuckles!!"

Sonic whined as Knuckles punched him for probably the third time since Shadow had been conscious; Shadow had to stop from smirking.

"We better get you home.." Knuckles grumbled, "(Y/N) is probably worried now."

He turned to the red echidna, "And why didn't she tell me herself...?"

"She did. But you passed out, so she went home."

Shadow frowned as the two then lead him home, ears laying back in annoyance.

-Gee, thanks (Y/N)...-

~A FEW MONTHS LATER~

"Shaaaaadoooooow!" A (f/c) (a/t) whined from the couch, rubbing her swollen stomach.

"Yes...?" The ultimate lifeform walked into the room, holding a cup of green tea.

"It hurrrrrrts."

He sighed and placed the tea down, "I know it does... I'm sorry."

"Don't start..." She looked at him, "We've already spoken about this..."

The hedgehog sighed and nodded. They had. Many times. You see, Shadow the Hedgehog and (Y/N) the (a/t) were together. It was the smallest surprise among the group. The bigger surprise was that, well, (Y/N) was pregnant.

And we all know what that means.

"I know, but I still feel bad."

"You shouldn't! You said it yourself, this is an amazing outcome from..." Her cheeks turned red, "You know..."

"I do, now drink your tea."

She sighed and reached for the cup, before yelping and hugging her stomach. Shadow's ears perked and he knelt beside her, a hand resting on hers. She looked at him and sighed.

"It just kicked... It's normal."

"Clearly it isn't if it's hurting you..." He glanced at the pregnant belly, "God knows what I've put inside you..."

"You don't need to worry-"

"Yes I do. I am half alien (Y/N), most of my blood belongs to the Black Arms, and the rest is a mad human scientist, and possibly some other poor Mobian's blood. God knows what that mix will create..."

The (a/t) sighed and cupped his cheek, "Don't worry. I doubt it will do anything serious, it's just stronger than an average... Whatever it is."

"Exactly..." He grabbed her tea and held it to her lips, "Drink, it should calm it down."

She nodded and took a sip from the teacup, the sweet liquid was nice and warm down her throat. Within a moment, the painful kicking stopped, and she relaxed. It had been like this for a few months, painful kicking and movement from the baby.

Or whatever it is.

"It seems to like green tea... Thank God, I can finally get rid of it..." (Y/N) smiled and laid her head back.

"Should we find out it's gender?" Shadow blurted the question without a second thought.

"We should, that way we can name it."

And so, with some difficulty, the two headed to the clinic. (Y/N) leant on Shadow, gripping his hand tightly. Once in the building, the two booked an appointment and sat down, waiting for the ultrasound. The (a/t) sighed and pulled Shadow's arm around her, nestling into his side.

The hedgehog smiled down at her and hugged the pregnant (a/t), resting his head on her own. Time passed and another couple walked in, requesting a second ultrasound for their child. Shadow watched them take their seats, noticing how the girl kept her head lowered, while the male stared at (Y/N). The dark hedgehog growled and held her close, ignoring the arm rest which dug into his side.

The male chuffed and turned away, his arms crossed. (Y/N) let out a whine and Shadow loosened his grip.

"My back..." She mumbled.

"I'm sorry..." His ears lowered, and he let her sit up. He noted her obliviousness towards the other male and sighed, patting her head.

"It's fine..." The (a/t) looked around, "Oh, we aren't the only ones."

He chuckled slightly, "Did you zone out again?"

"I guess I did." She shrugged.

"Miss (a/t)?"

The two looked up, before following the nurse into a dimly lit room. She motioned for (Y/N) to lay on the table and lift her shirt. Shadow grumbled, staying close to her and holding onto the clothing, as if to stop her from pulling it to high. The nurse gave a nervous laugh.

"Now, this will be cold, okay?"

"What will be- Gah!" (Y/N) froze when the nurse applied gel to her stomach, her fur standing on end. Shadow pat her head slowly, watching as the nurse did her thing. Soon enough, there was a small infant on the screen in black and white.

"Your child looks very healthy and..." The nurse frowned and the alarms went off in Shadow's head, "Strange... This is very rare... Especially for an interspecies relationship." (UNLESS YOUR CHARACTER IS A HEDGEHOG THEN IGNORE THIS PART)

"What is it?"

"Your child seems to be full hedgehog..."

"Is that all...?" (Y/N) asked nervously.

"Yep, would you like to know the gender?"

The couple nodded.

The nurse smiled, "It's going to be a boy."

Shadow's tail wagged, he didn't know what to expect, but the thought of raising a male like him made him relax in a way. From what he had seen on the internet, daughters were expensive and a lot of hard work (As a female I know this is true. Don't you DARE take offence...).

"A boy. Fantastic!"

"What will we call him?" The hedgehog glanced at his partner.

"Hm... What about (B/N)?"

He smiled, a genuine smile that made (Y/N)'s tail wag happily, "I love it."

I KNOOOOOOWWWWWww IT SAID PROTECTIVE BUT FUCK I TRIED I DON'T KNOW OKAY I HAD TO MAKE UP A SENARIO AND THEN STICK TO IT AND WHEN I STARTED WRITING THIS IT WAS SO SHIT SO I JUST SAID FUCK IT DO YOUR OWN THING AND THROW IN SOME RANDOM PROTECTIVE MOMENTS GAAAAHHHHH FUUUUUUUCK.

Anyway! One more request left and then 1) Requests will be open again 2) this book will go on a break (the start of my hiatus). Don't worry I'll be back, but I'm taking a break to:

1) Work on another story! I ACTUALLY THOUGHT OF ONE YAYYYYY

2) Work on the requests and ideas for this book (remember I get random ideas in my head and still write those)

3) Work on My King (CAUSE I NEED TO GET IT DONE OMG IT HAS GONE ON FOR TOO LOOOOOOONG) *more info below for those interested

4) Plan some more stories

And keep in mind that during this hiatus, I will still update When We Get Bored (and my art book... If I feel like it...) But that is it.

*So My King isn't done yet (CLEARLY) but I don't want to go on a full hiatus until it is finished. But, this book itself (the X Reader) is soon going to be on break. One more chapter left and then I won't update until next year (Because I had goals for my books before my hiatus can start, which was; My King – Finish whole story and; X Reader – Finish requests [1 left] and then get a heap of new requests)

Now. THE REQUEST ARE NOT OPEN YET OKI. I WILL POST A CHAPTER REQUESTING THEM HOWEVER IF ANY ARE POSTED HERE I AM GOING TO IGNORRRRRRRE.
