Before this, in an unknown city, sometime in the far future. There are ruins of buildings everywhere. The white hedgehog is flying around the city slowly, looking for any flames. The ground below has become nothing but a sea of lava, with the occasional rumble of thunder and flash of lightning from the storm clouds covering the sky.

"This world was devastated before I was born. A harsh, bleak place, where we live in eternal darkness. Life is a struggle, and people live without hope. How did this happen? No one will answer me directly. But they always point... to the flames."

A tornado of flames swirl up before him. He uses a psychokinetic blast to clear the flames in front of him and they die away.

"These flames. They burn away at my world destroying everything in their path. They come from a eternal life form we cannot truly defeat. The Flames of Disaster known as Iblis."

"Silver!"

Silver turned to see a lavender and violet-furred, anthropomorphic cat with gold eyes, a small black nose and a white-furred muzzle. She has triangular ears with peach colored canals and a long tail with the end frayed and dark purple. Her fur is longer on each side of her head and sweeps slightly upwards.

"Blaze, what's wrong?"

"He's appeared again!"

Looking in the direction Blaze pointed in with an angry scowl, Silver flies away as Blaze jumps quickly from roof to roof to follow him. Silver and Blaze have gone through Crisis City and are running right up to confront Iblis, who emerges as a fiery golem monster ready to attack with a roar. They are stunned but look up.

"Come on, you monster!"

Iblis moves on and roars in the flames.

A pit of molten lava is shown where Iblis once stood following his defeat by Silver.

"Looks like we stopped it for now." Blaze said.

"But, it'll just rise up from its ashes again."

Silver hits a brick wall with his fist in frustration.

"What's the point of all this? It'll never end."

"Calm down, Silver."

"Then tell me what we should do. How can we completely destroy Iblis?"

Blaze is unsure what to do and closes her eyes to think. All of a sudden a dark voice is heard.

"...By knowing the truth, of course."

Silver looks around to see who spoke, and he and Blaze look up at black hedgehog, on top of a ruined building. He appeared almost identical to Shadow the Hedgehog, aside from having green eyes with slit pupils, a pale-skinned muzzle with no mouth, and the fact that everything that is red on Shadow is a greyish-blue. Just like Shadow, he had rings on his wrists and ankles.

"Just as a flower comes from a seed, or a chicken comes from an egg, everything has an origin. You need to find the being originally responsible for this catastrophe."

"Is that really the answer to our problem?"

Silver points at him.

"Tell me, do you know who it is?"

The twin-like Shadow looks at Silver with a sinister look in his eyes.

He leads Blaze and Silver into the database.

"To fix this present timeline, you need to change the past."

The group looks around the database.

"But, that's impossible." Silver said.

"With my help, you can, because I have the power to travel through time!"

Silver is surprised.

"No way!"

"In order to change the past, you must eliminate the individual who has awakened Iblis. The Iblis Trigger."

Silver and Blaze think and ponder, then...

"If I eliminate that guy, will our world be saved?"

The twin-like Shadow nods.

"The Day of Disaster... Here are my records of this event. This was when Iblis was freed and his flames were released into the world."

He turns on the computer, and Silver and Blaze see images of Soleanna and other things.

"And you have this person to blame."

He takes out the purple Chaos Emerald and shows it to Silver, who takes it and gazes upon it. A vision of Sonic and the flames appears, and makes a close-up of Sonic staring blankly.

"I see it! So, that blue hedgehog's the Iblis Trigger?"

Blaze gets closer to Silver and stares at him and the emerald.

"Blue hedgehog..."

Silver hands the emerald back to him.

"I'll send us back in time to the point when the Iblis Trigger was alive."

He generates a sphere with his hands, places it on Silver and Blaze, and the three of them vanish.

It is a bright, sunny day in present-day Soleanna in the forest outside the city. A portal has opened up, and Silver jumps out of it alone as it closes. He looks around.

"Where am I?"

He sees that Blaze and a mysterious black hedgehog are not here.

"Blaze?... Blaze!"

Silver finds that no one is here.

"I guess I got separated. This is so unbelievable."

He sees the path ahead near a tree and looks up at it.

"Now I must fight for the future!"

Silver throws his fist around and runs off through the forest.

Back to Sonic and Y/N as they are running and rocket roller skating through the town with Elise in Y/N's arms.

"Umm... Why are you two helping me?" Elise asked.

"No special reason." Sonic answered.

"It's what we do." Y/N said.

They jump over a canal.

"Sonic! Y/N!" Elise exclaimed.

More of Eggman's Egg Gunners block Sonic's and Y/N's path. Y/N puts Elise down and both her and Sonic destroys all of them. However, they barely have a chance to catch their breath before they heard Elise scream and saw Eggman grabbing Elise with his Egg Mobile while their back was turned.

"I'm afraid our little game ends now."

Elise wriggles an arm free.

"Y/N, take this!"

Elise throws the blue Chaos Emerald to Y/N and she catches it.

"I've got it!"

"And don't worry, we'll rescue you!" Sonic said.

"I know." Elise said.

Eggman scoffs.

"It's only a matter of time before it's mine. Until then, you can hold onto it for me!"

Eggman flees with Elise into the Egg Carrier and leaves Soleanna while Sonic and Y/N watches it depart.

Silver is atop one of the houses as he sees Sonic and Y/N. He jumps off and lands on the rooftop and is about to go after Sonic when Amy grabs him.

"Now I've got you, Sonic!"

"Hey!"

"It's about time I finally caught you again!"

Amy opens her eyes and looks at Silver in shock.

"Hey! You're not Sonic!"

She slaps him and speaks, embarrassed.

"Um... I'm sorry!"

Silver tumbles but tries to gain his balance. Amy buries her face in her hands as he looks at her.

"Ah, I'm..."

He turns and sees that Sonic has vanished along with Y/N.

"Huh? Hey, where'd they go?"

He looks around.

"They must have run off!"

"I'm sorry. Did you miss someone because of me?" Amy apologized.

"Ah... it's okay. I'm sure the guy I'm looking for is still on the island. I'm sure I can still find him."

Amy grabs Silver's hand.

"Well then, I'll help you!"

"What?"

"Two heads are better than one when looking for someone!"

"Hey, just wait a second!"

"What's your name?"

"...Silver."

"That's a nice name. I'm Amy Rose. It's nice to meet you!"

She runs with Silver, holding his hand

"Ah... Hey, wait!"

Sonic and Y/N are running and rocket roller skating through Castle Town during the day. They hear Tails calling their name and stop.

"Sonic! Y/N!"

"Tails! Long time no see!"

"Hi, Tails!"

"I'm glad that you're here. I heard that you tried to save the Princess from Dr. Eggman. You're going to rescue her, aren't you? Let me help. I may not know what Eggman's up to, but it can't be a good thing!"

"OK! With your help, this should be a piece of cake."

Sonic runs off. Y/N pats Tails' shoulder, making him blush.

"Let's go for another adventure!"

Y/N skates off.

"Heh heh. I'll do my best!"

Tails follows Sonic and Y/N.

"We've got to hurry and save Elise." Sonic said as they run around the rock circle up and down to the ocean as they run and skate through it without a problem.

As they go across the ocean and the rock circle again, they made it to the other side of the island as they spun on the pull up and flew high up in the air as they bounce on every place that made the jump even higher. They went across the bridge when they bump into the killer whale that jumped over in the ocean attempt to eat them as they go across the ocean.

"Whoa, that's a big one."

"Yikes."

They kept going forward as the killer whale swims after them, destroying the bridge they are crossing. When there's no path for them to go, they jump as they landed on the broken part of the wooden bridge and grabbed onto the fin of the killer whale.

"Tails! Go ahead and push the gate switch so he doesn't get out!"

"Okay, Sonic, Y/N! I'll be right back!"

Tails flew away to find the switch. Sonic and Y/N struggled to hold onto the killer whale as it tried to get them off.

"Tails, hurry up!"

Tails then found the switch as he pushed it as the gates started closing down. The killer whale stopped and Sonic and Y/N jumped off of it and flew over the gate. They made it on land and saw the flying ship, but it was getting away.

"Darn! We're not going to make it.'

"Then, let's speed it up!"

They ran and skated through the beach as they attempt to go after the ship. But once they got close, it was too late. The Egg Carrier flies away as Sonic, Y/N, and Tails watch it. A feather falls down from the sky which Sonic picks up. It looks like one of the feathers from Elise's dress.

"It looks like the Princess was moved to another location."

Tails walks around Sonic and Y/N, while they look at a feather.

"Let's head back to the city!"

Tails leave. Sonic clutches the feather and follows.

"We'll be back for you." Y/N said, looking to where they had gone before following after Sonic and Tails.
