✷      𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘 always seemed to come off wrong for Brooke Flores. It works in many mysterious ways to screw up people, especially when they are so close to fulfilling something that could end up great for someone, no one in particular. It was a stupid metaphorical statement that Brooke ended up believing, and now he was looking at the steps of Greendale Community College, regretting everything he did to get here. He has more years to waste trying to look for something that suits him rather than doing something that fits everyone else's dream but his.

He always did what was best for others but never for himself, because it never worked. As much as he wanted to be the perfect son, he couldn't achieve the dreams his father set out for him. As much as he wanted his heart to operate for everyone, his brain would have to take charge during his years of community college. Brooke had a list of things that were to be achieved in his years of being at Greendale ―

1 ) Find a true meaning to your life, especially what the future means for you. (This step cannot be messed up... It can't be your dream, Brooke.)

2 ) Get your emotions sorted out; you can't have another breakdown at work again. Otherwise, no one will respect you the same as any other person. (Or, in this case... Maybe don't have a breakdown over school work, or everyone will look at you differently. Just focus on taking mediation!)

3 ) Do not, and I repeat, do not fall in love with anyone and then end up spilling all your secrets to them when you get drunk. (Spoiler alert: you are a lightweight, and it never works, idiot, So... Don't mess this up.)

Three essential goals, all to be completed within the years of being at Greendale, seem manageable; Brooke had it all under control. That is, until the first day of community college, which hit him at once with a harsh impact. Leaving him breathless is not a good way; Brooke may have gone too far with his life to get to this moment. Brooke Flores couldn't fight against the friction of his past that messed up his plans that were set up perfectly by his family ― he knows not to argue with his father, for he would lose. No matter what he did to be the perfect son, he had to leave all the roles to his brother, for he was the golden child, and Brooke was an attempt.

Brooke came from a line of accounters, bankers, jobs that involved crunching down the numbers, but he wanted nothing to do with that. He did not want to count another number in his head, breaking every calculator he owned and wanting to separate his identity from the rest of the Flores. His heart had always felt warm when he played the guitar, letting the music play throughout the room. Brooke preferred his fingers to be scarred by the strings of his dreams rather than what was paved. Brooke wanted to be his person, so maybe Greendale was an excellent place to start his journey of self―discovery, even if he knew his family would be disappointed with him. Disappointment always looked good on Brooke, or so he thought.

So, of course, the first thing on his bucket list was to learn a new language, and Spanish was the first thing that popped up in Brooke's head. It was easier for him to grasp something when a study group popped up in the library with seven other students in his class. Maybe Brooke was able to have a good year with his new study group. Even if it meant fucking up all three of his goals, doing all three with Jeff Winger.

welcome everyone to something in my eye, and i am so excited to write this! anyways, i have been binge―watching community, and i have grown such an attachment to this show, so uh, my solution? make a fanfiction! i knew that i wanted to write something for jeff winger before i get started with the community fics, because i love him so much!! so i hope you all enjoy something in my eye as much as i do :)

✶ of course, i had to write a bisexual―awakening for jeff winger, because that man was not straight, and you can't tell me otherwise. which is why i have created brooke flores, who is about to change this man's whole life with one single look <3 better yet? brooke flores, the disaster bisexual who has no idea what he's doing, doesn't know what he is doing to jeff's mind. i intend to mess with their minds, and i think it's going to be a very interesting part to write :)

✶ brooke is someone that is struggling with finding his cultural identity, especially towards his heritage, and having the fear of living up to his father's expectations!! i really wanted to write his experience with that, while also dealing with finding his dreams and essentially disobeying his father's wishes ― which is a huge thing! it goes to make things more relatable as readers, to see a character also struggling with such things :')

✶ i am just so excited to write brooke's interactions with the study group, because i have so many ideas that i have planned for this, especially with abed, and britta, but all characters have something special with brooke!! i just wanted to create a silly little found family for brooke because he deserves it <3

✶ also, as of 29/04/23, i have added a new character, which is brooke's brother, antonio flores! i wanted to include a concept of a golden child in the flores family, and how brooke reacts to that, and such. i actually have plans for antonio in the later acts, which i am excited for, especially for when the study group meets him hehe (that's a little hint for you to see what's gonna happen!)
