Day 25: Spending Christmas Morning Together

(I'm so sorry for what you're about to read, don't beat me please.)

Bakugou's eyes opened slowly, the bright sun shining on them. It was finally Christmas morning, the day both the blonde and sleeping redhead had been waiting for. Cuddling a little more into the taller's chest, he yawned. While he was laying there, the blonde felt a small push in his abdomen. He guessed it was just Kirishima, shrugging it off.

"Katsuki?" Kirishima whispered, his voice husky from slumber. Bakugou looked up at the sleepy redhead and smiled.

"Merry Christmas Eijirou." He muttered, pulling himself up to place a kiss on the redhead's lips. He felt Kirishima smile into the kiss, making him giggle. Their first Christmas "together". Kirishima pulled away, giggling.

"Do you wanna open presents first Katsuki?" His response was a nod, the blonde boy

pulling himself from Kirishima's chest. Feet soon on the ground, the redhead watched as the smaller boy looked at the presents under the tree.

"Why are there numbers on them?" Bakugou asked, turning to look at his boyfriend. Kirishima pulled himself out of bed, wrapping his arms around the blonde's waist.

"Fourteen presents for the fourteen months we've been together...open them in order babe," Kirishima answered, watching the look on his partners face. A smile spread on his face, the blonde sat down on the floor, reaching for the unwrapped bouquet of flowers with the number 'one' on it.

"Our first date?" The blonde turned to Kirishima, getting a nod. As he hugged the flowers to his chest, Bakugou reached for the second present. Tearing open the wrapping paper, the blonde pulled the mug out of the box. Kirishima knew Bakugou knew what memory that was representing, judging by his small giggle.

"This is so fucking cute..." Bakugou murmured, placing the two gifts to the side. Kirishima gestured for him to open the third, a smile on his face. The nerves were starting to build up, was he really going to propose? Would Bakugou say yes? The redhead was lost in his thoughts, only pulled from them when he heard the blonde gasp.

"You know I've been dying to get a cookbook...this is so damn cool...Jesus you really out-did yourself Eijirou..." Bakugou said in awe. Kirishima watched in silence as the blonde went to the next present.

"You cheeky bastard..." As soon as the words left his mouth, Kirishima began laughing. He scooted a little closer to the blonde, wrapping his arm around his waist. The sweaters in Bakugou's hands were matching, one saying 'Red Riot' and the other saying 'Nitro'. Since they had already come out, they'd be able to wear them whenever they wanted.

Setting the sweaters aside, Bakugou reached for the small heart-shaped box.

"You fucking didn't...EIJIROU!" Bakugou yelled, laughing. It was the box of chocolate pretzels. Bakugou was already starting to get emotional, and it was much earlier than Kirishima expected. He was gonna make him cry, and there was no doubt about it. Kirishima put his free hand in his pocket, playing with the ring box. Next, Bakugou saw the cactus, his laughing only becoming louder. He kissed the pot of the plant, making Kirishima giggle. The nerves, that weird nervous feeling in his stomach wouldn't go away. Kirishima tried to let it go as he watched the blonde open up the next present.

"You...fucking dork...this restaurant is expensive! Eijirou!" Bakugou turned to the redhead, clearly shocked. A smile still tugged at Kirishima's lips. He loved seeing the blonde so happy and lively. It was something he had kinda lost over the past month, but he finally had it back. Kirishima wished he could stay like this, forever. Bakugou opened the next box, pulling out the keychains. He didn't even say anything, a small frown on his face.

"Babe?"

"I-I...wow. This is so fucking perfect I just don't know what to s-say..."

Kirishima tightened his grip on the blonde's waist as he set the keychains aside. Next, he pulled the wrapping paper off the bathing suit, which quickly lightened the mood. A giggle left the blonde's mouth, remembering the memories associated with each present. He opened the next three, the pins, basket, and Polaroid, a smile staying on his face the whole time. At this point, Kirishima's heart was basically about to fall out of his ass. The last two were the most important. As Bakugou unwrapped the second to last present, the redhead held his breath.

"E-Eijirou...oh my god..." Tears welled in the blonde's eyes as he flipped through the book, each picture bringing back a new memory. Looking at each picture, Bakugou finally reached the end. He looked at the tree, confused.

"Isn't there a fourteen?" Bakugou asked, turning to his lover. Kirishima was full on about to vomit on himself, nerves taking control.

"How a-about you look?" He responded, pulling his arm back to his side. Bakugou stood up and began searching around the room. Kirishima, at first, just followed, knowing exactly where the present was. He was waiting for the right moment. Bakugou then walked over to the closet, his back facing Kirishima. While Bakugou's attention was on that, Kirishima got down on one knee, reaching for the blonde's hand.

"Katsuki." he began, catching the blondes attention. At first, he had no clue what was going on. Kirishima had no idea what he was going to say, no speech or anything. He just pulled words from his heart, so they were honest.

"I um...To start this off...I wanted to tell you how much I care about you. How much you mean to me. In these months we've spent together, I've learned so much about you, and you've learned so much about me. We've come to trust each other with everything we have, supporting each other no matter what the situation. I love you with all of my heart and would do anything to protect you from harm, and from the things that could make you sad, angry or scared. I want to be the one to protect you...for forever," Kirishima pulled the box out of his pocket, the realization hitting the other boy like a bus. Tears started gathering in his eyes, the redhead not able to stop it. "I know this is sudden...and that we're both so young...but I really do think we are a match made in heaven. We're still immature, but we can mature together because I can't see my future without you in it. So...Katsuki..." Opening the box, Kirishima watched as Bakugou broke down crying. "Will you marry me?" Bakugou couldn't say anything, nodding. Taking the ring out of the box, Kirishima slipped it onto the blonde boy's ring finger. Before he could do anything else, Bakugou tackled him to the ground, crying hysterically.

"E-Eijirou...I l-love y-ou, you f-fucking sa-p." Bakugou murmured, his voice broken and shaky. This moment, to both Kirishima and Bakugou, was beautiful. Somewhere they could stay forever. Gripping onto his boyfr- no, fiance for dear life, Bakugou cried his soul out. There was no way he could beat that present.

They lay on the floor for a few hours, Bakugou crying silently into Kirishima's chest. Over time, he calmed himself, his tears drying. When he was finally calmed all the down, the blonde pushed himself to sit up.

"Eijirou...I can't beat that."

"The best present I got this year was you, babe."

"You're sappy."

"But you love me."

"I do."

After Kirishima had opened all of his gifts, the newly engaged couple went downstairs to get breakfast. Bakugou was sure to keep his hand hidden well, that way no one could see the ring. They spent the rest of their day spending time with their friends. It was so awesome, seeing Bakugou so happy around everyone else. Time flew by, and before they knew it, it was 9 pm. The pair headed back up to their dorm, Bakugou basically half asleep. Kirishima had to carry the blonde to bed, carefully placing him on the bed. Kirishima climbed in with him, pulling the blonde to his chest. There were no words that needed to be exchanged, today was the best day they had ever had together. Moments before the pair fell asleep, Bakugou's phone rang. A sleepy Bakugou removed himself from his fiance's grasp, picking up the phone. What he heard made him break out into violent sobs.

"Katsuki...we're sorry to say, your mother didn't make it. We're so sorry for your loss."

[ A/N And that's it! I'm sorry for the cliffhanger, and for posting the last 4 parts MONTHS later, but for being a piece of shit, I am working on a sequel to this, and it will be just as awful and angsty as this one....if you do have any suggestions or something I should add, please let me know! Thanks for over 500 reads, when I saw that I literally screamed :) ]
