Chapter Sixty-Four

"So this gun and this dagger.. It can kill anything?" Jenny asked, and John nodded.

"Yes. If we run out of bullets before we find the demon that killed Mary— You can use the dagger to kill the demon." Sam and Dean turned at Jenny with a hopeful look, and she stiffened awkwardly.

"Okay. Let's get these weapons." Jenny fixed her grip on her machete before quickly walking to the barn.

There was a short hushed conversation between the three men before following Jenny, who peeked into a window. John walked over and looked in next before slowly sliding it open. He gestured for Jenny to go in, climbing through the window and rolling quietly to her feet.

Jenny walked along the wall, avoiding the sleeping vampires in their hammocks as she felt as if something was pulling her to a separate room. She shook her head to try and clear the urge, but it only grew stronger.

John met Jenny at the open door, both looking in to see the Colt in a holster, hanging on the wall.

The two snapped their heads at the sound of a bottle clanking, Dean freezing in his spot. He looked at his father and girlfriend before continuing his walk. John looked back to Jenny.

"Go help them." He whispered and she quickly shook her head.

"No. I can feel that dagger. Like it's— pulling me towards it." She answered, slowly walking towards the door. John grabbed Jenny's arm, shaking his head.

"Go with Sam and Dean, Jennifer." He ordered, and Jenny looked at his hand gripping her arm.

"And I said no." She shook him off, walking into the bedroom. John watched her angrily for a moment before following her inside.

Jenny stopped to stare at the two sleeping vampires before turning as the sound of a vibrating pulse dragged her to the nightstand. She walked to the other side where the woman was sleeping, slowly inching towards the nightstand.

John and Jenny froze at the man turning in his sleep, looking at one another before Jenny's hand slowly reached to one of the cabinets.

As Jenny started to open the cabinet, an unearthly road startled her and John, and caused the sleeping vampires to wake up. Jenny and the woman made eye contact before she was suddenly slammed into the wall. She fell to the ground with a loud thump, groaning in pain as the vibrations continued to echo in her ear.

The sound of glass shattering made Jenny look up, a blinding light since the vampire had ran out of the way.

"Jennifer, run!" John demanded and Jenny scrambled up, looking at the open cabinet to see the dagger. It was shining in the light and directly in her face. Jenny paused, staring at it as if she were in a trance. "Jennifer listen to me!"

She slowly walked towards the dagger. But before she could grab it, she was thrown over the bed by the male vampire, who then grabbed the dagger and ran out along with the Colt. The trance seemed to have ended in an instant and Jenny looked at John, confused from the ground.
"What—"

"Let's go!" John gripped Jenny by the shoulder and lifted her up, running out of the room with her. The two met back with Sam and Dean outside and up the slope slowly.

"They won't follow. They'll wait till tonight. Once a vampire has your scent, it's for life." John explained as Dean kept staring at Jenny.

"Well what the hell do we do now?" He asked as John sighed, shaking his head.

"You gotta find the nearest funeral home, that's what."

Dean and Jenny walked up to a funeral home in their suits, Jenny finally listening and going with black flats instead of heels. "There is no support in these things." She grumbled as Dean stopped at the door to look at her.

"You always gotta complain about shoes, don't you?" He asked as she shrugged.

"If they ain't boots, they ain't good." She smiled, opening the door for Dean, who rolled his eyes and walked in.

"Can I help you two?" A woman a few years older than Dean and Jenny asked, sitting behind a desk. The two showed her their fake badges, smiling.

"Yes uh, we're actually here to look at some of the recently deceased." Dean answered as the woman frowned in confusion.

"Uhm... What for?"

"We just need to get some identification of the deceased for classified purposes, if you don't mind." The woman stared at Jenny and her odd smile, glancing to Dean as if he would chime in.

"She's the boss here, ma'am. Just need to see some dead guys." He smiled, and the woman slowly nodded, typing something in before grabbing a key, handing it to Jenny.

"Don't touch anything other than the corpses. Morgue is downstairs." Jenny took the keys, turning to Dean before he followed her down the hall and towards a staircase.

"Well, that was easier than I tho— oh." Dean cut himself off as a security guard stood next to a door marked 'morgue.'

"Delightful." Jenny walked toward the guard, who gave her a suspicious look. She waved the key in the air.

The guard only huffed, causing Jenny to look at him suspiciously before unlocking the morgue door. She let Dean inside before shutting it, sliding the shades down.

"It smells like my grandma's in here." Jenny frowned, turning to see dean pulling out a random dead man from one of the cabinets.

"You got it?" He asked as she rummaged through her inside pocket, pulling out a needle and syringe. She walked over to Dean, then proceeded to shove the needle in the dead man's arm.

For a moment, she was expecting the guy to have already been embalmed, but dark blood started to pour into the syringe, followed by a weird smell. Jenny cleaned off the needle and stuck the cap back on it, then stuffed it in her inside pocket. Dean down turned his lips, humming.

"Well. That went a lot faster than I thought it would."

Jenny, John and Sam peeked out from some bushes, Jenny gripping a bow and arrow as Sam held a crossbow, both arrows dripping in the blood she had gotten only an hour ago.

For a moment, nothing happened as Dean pretended to look at the Impala's engine like something was wrong. A car then pulled up and a woman got out, incoherently talking to Dean.

After a few short seconds, the vampire backhanded Dean, causing him to slam into the Impala. Jenny's grip on the string tightened, watching as the vampire grabbed Dean and lifted him into the air, another vampire walking out of the car.

The vampire lowered Dean to her level, slowly inching him closer to her. Jenny stepped out behind the bushes, shooting the vampire holding Dean directly in the chest with her arrow. Sam emerged, shooting the other vampire.

"It barely even stings." The vampire holding Dean mocked as Jenny lowered her bow.

"You should be patient." She snapped, the vampire dropping Dean as she collapsed, unconscious. "You okay?"

"Peachy." Dean answered as John walked over to the other vampire, raising his machete above his head before slamming it down. Jenny flinched as a few splatters of blood hit her face, slowly opening her eyes to see the vampires head roll to her feet.

"Well that's bloody inspiring." She joked, wiping her face. She turned back to Dean, taking his hand and lifting him off the ground. Dean looked at Jenny for a moment before wiping more blood off of her face.

Jenny looked up at the stars above her and the Winchester family, a small breeze blowing her hair behind her and the smoke from the bonfire directly in her face. She looked over as John handed Dean a bag, gesturing to the fire.

The vampire next to Jenny stirred, and she instinctively kicked her, looking back at the Winchester's.

"Toss this on the fire. Saffron, skunk's cabbage and trillium. It'll block our scent and hers, until we're ready." John explained as Dean opened the bag and sniffed it, coughing in disgust.

"This stuff reeks." Dean gagged as Jenny shook her head with a smile.

"That's the idea. Dust your clothes with the ashes, and you stand a chance of not being detected."

"You sure they'll come after her?" Sam spoke up, gesturing to Kate, the vampire who was still unconscious.

"Yeah. Vampires mate for life. She means more to the leader than the gun. But the blood sickness is going to wear off soon, so you don't have a lot of time." Jenny slowly looked down at Kate, shuffling away.

"A half hour oughta do it." Sam sighed, Dean tossing the bag in the fire.

"And then I want you out of the area as fast as you can."

"But—"

"Well, Dad you can't take care of them all yourself." Dean interrupted Sam, looking to Jenny to see her smile had changed to a look of anger.

"I'll have her. And the Colt." John argued as Jenny scoffed, shaking her head.

"But after. We're gonna meet up, right? Use the gun together.... Right?" Sam asked. There was a long pause, and Jenny stood up.

"You're leaving after this, aren't you?" Jenny asked with an angered attitude, crossing her arms. "I mean, that's why you even dragged us here, isn't it? So you can get this fucking gun with our help, and then ditch us to fight that demon!"

"I'm trying to keep you guys safe." John argued as Sam stood up.

"By treating us like children?"

"Or using us for your own advantage!" Jenny continued, pointing at Kate. "You've seen how we work during hunts, John. Obviously, we can handle ourselves."

"And if you can't? What then, huh? You remember the last time you disobeyed my orders?" John stood in front of Jenny, gesturing to the scar on her neck. Jenny clenched her jaw, dropping her arms.

"Alright enough!" Dean yelled, stepping between Jenny and John, scowling at his father. "You know what Sammy, Jen I have been hunting. Hell you sent us on a few hunting trips yourself. You can't be that worried about keeping us safe."

"It's not the same thing, Dean."

"Then what is it? Why do you want us out of the big fight?"

"This demon? It's a bad son of a bitch. I can't make the same moves if I'm worried about keeping you alive."

"You mean you can't be as reckless." Dean commented. John went quiet for a moment as Jenny and Sam shared a look, turning back to the oldest son and his dad.

"Look... I don't expect to make it out of this fight in one piece. Your mother's death ... it almost killed me. I can't watch my children die too. I won't."

"What happens if you die? Dad, what happens if you die, and we coulda done something about it? You know I been thinking. I ...think maybe Sam and Jen right about this one. We should do this together." Sam nodded in agreement as Dean continued again. "We're stronger as a family, Dad. We just are. You know it."

"We're running out of time. You do your job and you get out of the area. That's an order." John walked off and Jenny sat down, covering her face in defeat.

✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Jenny jumped through the barn window, landing with a quiet thud. Dean followed after her, crouching next to her. "I'll get the vamps. You get to the cage." Jenny watched Dean rush off for a minute before rushing to a large cage full of people.

Some started to panic, Jenny shaking her head quickly. "No! No it's alright. I'm a good guy." She fumbled through her pocket, taking out a lock pick and shoved it into the key hole, jamming it around for a moment. She swung the cage door open and started helping the weaker people out first.

Dean then ran up, his machete soaked in blood. "We need to go. Now."

"Alright. Hey!" Jenny grabbed onto another person. "Help get them out."

"What about the other people?" The man asked, eyes wide with terror.

"We'll kill them."

✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Jenny fixed her bow and arrow, waiting with Sam and Dean in the trees. She watched as John pulled Kate out of the truck, a knife pressed tightly to her neck.

The voices were incoherent, but Luther, Kate's boyfriend, had set the Colt and Dagger down, slowly backing up. Jenny attempted to not look at the dagger, staring at John in order to focus on something else.

Jenny watched John lean down to pick up the Colt first, but Kate had gotten out of her restraints, throwing John into his truck. The Colt flew out of his hand, and John fell to the ground unconscious.

Dean ran out of the trees first, Jenny following and aimed her arrow at one of the vampires. She let the string go, the arrow piercing through the vampires chest. Sam and Dean shot the other two vampires with their crossbows, Luther spinning around to them. Jenny dropped her bow, taking out her machete and ran at Luther, swinging hard. Luther dodged, backhanding Jenny into his car.

Dean turned around with a machete, only to see Luther now had Jenny in a chokehold. His eyes widened in panic as she tried to pry his arm off her neck. "Don't! I'll snap her neck, put that blade down!" Luther demanded.

Sam and Dean froze for a moment before flinching as Jenny tried to breathe, a raspy noise escaping her as Luther cut off her air supply completely. She scratched at his arm, gasping for air as Dean and Sam dropped their blades.

"You people. Why can't you leave us alone? We have as much right to live as you." The hold on Jenny's neck only tightened more and she began to panic, her lungs felt like they just kept shrinking as she started to loose consciousness.

"I don't think so." Luther turned around with Jenny, only to be shot between the eyes with the Colt by John. His grip on Jenny loosened and she fell to the ground, coughing and gasping for air. She held her throat, heaving for air as Dean ran to her side.

"Luther!" Kate cried in horror. John turned to see her gunning straight for him, another vampire grabbing Kate and throwing her in the car. Jenny looked up to see the vampires retreating, Dean slowly helping her to her feet. Her head rushed with blood, leaning against him for a moment.

The buzzing feeling entered Jenny again as John held up the Colt and dagger, staring at it for a while, back in that trance. "Jen?" She looked at Dean, humming. "You okay?"

"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"
