Chapter 11 - Strawberry Moon
Moonlight.
False looked up at the full moon as she was standing on a high building. The skies were clear, and the stars were visible, twinkling brightly from afar. The cold midnight wind roared through the area.
She smiled softly, before jumping down to the balcony below with a smooth landing. Looking down at the city from the view above, the nightlights and flashy bright commercial screens glowed, standing out and giving a beautiful view.
But at the same time, just beside the lively streets, the pitch black alleyways were barely noticeable, almost symbolizing the duality of the society perfectly.
Her phone started buzzing silently, signalling that someone was calling her. She slowly took it out, and saw who was trying to contact her, before jumping down to the dark alleyway to find a more secure location to accept.
"Hello?"
She accepted the call as she entered the Southwest Safehouse. "Hello, 'Vir', it's been a long time since we last talked," She greeted back to the caller.
"It has, hasn't it," 'Virror' replied. "How have things been for you?"
"Not so much has changed," False said, sitting on the nearby couch. "How about you? Has anything changed for you?"
"Not necessarily. Maybe one or two things, but that's it."
"Mhm, yeah, same," False replied. "Is there a reason why you called me?"
"Oh, right, I was just about to get into that," Although you could barely hear it through the call, there were mouse clicking noises as 'Virror' was checking something on her computer. "So, you know my main employer?"
"Which one? You work for multiple companies, right?"
"Yeah, but I'm talking about one in particular, you know, X-T-V."
"Oh, that one," False immediately knew what she was talking about. X-T-V is a company that excels in technology, and was basically the main unsaid rival of Aque Corp, with both having a not-so-pretty history with each other, despite both CEO's public 'friendship'. "What about them? Did something happen?"
"It's nothing in particular, but recently I think something's off. You do know about what happened with the news site and all that, right?"
False shifted a bit at the topic. "Are you talking about the whole ordeal of Hermald getting taken down and all that? Do you know something about that?"
"Well," 'Virror' sighed. "I do think I know something about it. And I figured I should tell you about it, since I'm assuming you know about the thing that happened to your ally, 'Red Bullet'."
"Yes, I do know about that. You saw it too?"
"Yep," 'Virror' confirmed. "Regarding that article..."

'Watch' shut the window of the building slowly as he exited, be careful not to make any noise as to not alert anyone inside. Well, not like it would matter anyways, since he was already out and done.
He walked out of the yard and headed for the alleyways, disappearing into the darkness. Now that he was done with the hit, he would perform what he was originally planning on doing tonight.
He climbed and parkoured until he was on top of the high city buildings. In the distance, he could see the glowing midnight lights of the central part of the city.
You should've not bitten more than you could chew
