Chapter 8 Laying Down his Rules

Adrien's POV:

He could not believe his ears. His father wanted him to what?

He blushed. He could not do it.

That would not be right.  She would never agree to such a thing.

"Father, no that disgusts me you would even suggest such a thing," Adrien yells. He is angry. How dare his father tell him such a thing.

He would never agree to such matters. No, he would not touch Ladybug in that way.

If he wanted to he couldn't. He promised himself he would do such a thing if the woman agreed to it and he doubted she would. He had his principles. He had no intention, of such activity without putting a ring on her hand first.

"Adrien, you do it or will fire her. You know I will and that would be for us all. She is good for you and you know it," His father argued.

"How dare you!" Adrien punched his father in the eye. He gasped when he saw the bruise that formed. "I will never sleep with her!" He shouted.

How would explain this to her?  He ran off miffed.

Later, that day, Adrien sat inside his tent sobbing. He could not find the words to explain what happened to her. How could he face her after his conversation with his father?

He felt mortified that his father would dare to put such bad thoughts into his head.  Ugh, why could he have had a normal father?  But no he had the dirtiest, worst father ever.

He sat there stunned. He refused to come out when Ladybug arrived that day. He could stand to be near here thanks to his father. It is all his fault he thought to himself.

"Adrien, are you in there?" Ladybug called out. She did not see someone come behind her and shove her through the doorway. She tripped. "Ouch," She said with a groan. She looked up to see Adrien sitting at a desk. She could see he was troubled about something.

Wait she was in the boys changing room. She gasped when she realized how bad that may look to others. "A-Adrien, I was just going," She said.

"Ladybug, listen to me, you," Adrien remarked.

Ladybug sat and looked at him in shock. He sounded angry. Why?  Was it something she had said or done? She thought he was okay with her being close to him or had she misunderstood?

"A-Adrien?" "L-Ladybug, my father is a stubborn man and he ordered me to violate you, but I refused. Do you understand?" He asked.

"W-what?  You mean he wanted you to ..." Ladybug's face turned pale mid-sentence. "I told him on no terms would I do it," Adrien explained. "I refused to do that to you, I will never touch you without your consent, I swear," Adrien said.

Ladybug came closer and kissed me. I sat there astonished. What had brought this on? I never saw it coming.  I returned the kiss. Her kiss made me want things I never thought possible, but I had given my word.

She lifted up my shirt and I gasped. "D-Don't..."I said.

Ladybug let go of my shirt. She had tears in her eyes. "Bug?" I asked. "Adrien, you don't know how much..." She began. She fainted and I caught her.

I had to do something fast, I could not let my father see her here. I did not want anyone to stain her reputation.

I carried her to the back half of the tent. I laid her on the air mattress and put blankets on her. I kissed her forehead. "I will check on you later, get some rest, L-Ladybug." I did not know why I was stuttering.

I exited the tent and checked my surroundings good Nino was not here yet and neither was Alya. I  went to the shoot with no makeup this time.  I sure hoped no one would notice too much.

After the shoot, I went back to my tent. I checked on her but she was gone. I saw a note, "Dear Adrien, meet me at 8 pm. You know the place. Love, LB."  I knew she must have left it, but what did she mean by the place?

         I smiled. I better meet her at 8 o'clock, I thought.

       Ladybug's POV:

I  spoke to Adrien and we kissed. I tried to tell him how glad I was that he did not plan to carry out his father's ridiculous idea. The very nerve. It made me livid to think that Gabriel would expect Adrien to sleep with me for a publicity stunt made me want to puke. I was glad that Adrien had been the gentleman and refused.

I knew then, I was all wrong about him. I  fainted. I came to on a air matress in the back of the tent. I knew Adrien must have hidden me while he was away. How generous of him.

I stood up, wrote him a note, placed it on the mattress where I knew Adrien would see it, and left.  I had every intention to tell him the truth. Fine truths, but when and where?  Why did Alya think I needed to reveal my identity was silly? I mean I was only wearing a cheek costume mask, some makeup, and dress-up clothes some I made and others I found at a discount store. Did it matter that much that I wore a disguise to work?

What if Adrien hated how I was without all this?  Who was I kidding he had said I was beautiful without it.  How did I know he would notice the real me?  Had I ever given him the chance?

I thought he was cute, but stuck up at first. But now, I thought he was a proper gentleman, one I respected and dare I say, loved.  I blushed at the thought. Could it be he loved me? Is that what he was trying to say?  Is that why he refused to obey his father's stupid orders to rape me?

I hoped he would come at the appointed time. I knew if he did that meant he at least liked me. If not, I would do my best; not to let on how I feel about him. I smiled.
