Clarissa's P.O.V

"Shit", I muttered lowly underneath my breath, realizing how bad I just screwed up. Again.

"Excuse me Mrs Kerrington", I gave her a small smile and raced to catch up Alec.

"Alec!", I shouted, he turned around and glanced at me then started walking again.

"Please! I'm so sorry Alec, talk to me", I pleaded, sweating and panting, desperation clear in my voice.

"You're the last person I want to talk to Clarissa", he said nonchalantly and began, my stomach dropped.

"Look at me!", I yelled, his steps faltered and his shoulders went stiff. I walked up to him and slowly placed my hand on his cheek, the feeling suddenly comforting me. My eyes soften and my heart warmed when I saw a flicker of emotion behind those barriers.

"Alec, please, Talk to me", I spoke softly, my voice croaked, my hands began to tremble when the thought of my dad's anniversary flashed through my mind.

"Clarissa?", he looked at me in concern and I couldn't utter a word, I started getting dizzy and I gripped onto Alec's hands for a steady hold.

"Hey, I got you", I felt a pair of warm muscled hands embraced me in a hug. I closed my eyes and concentrated on my rapid breathing and escalating heartbeat.

"Calm down love, everything will be fine", he whispered softly and kissed my temple hesitantly. It took only that to calm me down and prevent me from having a panic attack.

"Thank you", I gave him a soft smile of gratitude.

"Let's go take a walk", he said after a couple of awkward seconds. I happily obliged and walked along side him. It was a good day, I thought.

"Are you okay Alec? Like really okay okay?", I asked him sincerely, a couple of heartbeats passed by before he answered.

"No not really, you?", he sighed, putting his hands in his pockets.

"Not really", I answered with a disheartened sigh, we looked at each other and there was just a feeling of understanding around us.

"My father's coming back soon", he explained, I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Isn't that a good thing?", I asked, I remember that it has always been him and his mother.

"No", he clenched his fists.

"I grew up without a father, do you know what that did to me? It traumatized me, he is the center of the reason why my life had gone so wrong", a look of fury and sadness washed over his face. My heart aches for him, I couldn't even imagine growing up without my father. He was my hero.

"Alec, I get it", I said but he kept his head down. "Hey, look at me", I whispered softly and turned his head to me.

"My mom left me, I grew up with a mother and yes she was the center of the reason why my life had gone so wrong too but look, right now she's all I got, in-spite of everything that she did, I learned to forgive her. You can too", I encouraged him but I knew that this would upset him because I remember how upset I was when everybody was trying to tell me to forgive my mother after what she has done.

"What? Are you fucking kidding me?", his body froze and he looked at me with a scowl plastered on his defined face.

"Alec, please calm down, I know what you're feeling now, trust me, please", I pleaded, hating to see him so much raw pain.

"I can't forgive him! I— My— Look—Maybe I just don't have a good heart like you!", he shouted but then instantly slammed a hand over his mouth.

A tear slipped out of my eye, "so that's what you were so afraid of", I really looked at this amazing person in front of me and I honestly can't believe what he's saying.

"I look at you and all I see is a person that has went through so much pain, suffering, agony and have had so many losses in life. I see a person who's afraid to love and afraid to give because he doesn't want to be hurt so badly again. I see a boy who has so much love and kindness in his heart, eyes filled with hidden compassion. I see a person who hides behind a mask that no one dares to try take off, afraid to see a monster. Let me tell you, when I took off that mask, All I saw was a man, A beautiful man  with so much raw emotions, you're my whole beating heart Alec", I wiped the tears that began flowing down Alec's cheek.

"I—I—I love—", I knew what he was struggling to say so I just nodded my head understandingly.

" I love you too Alec Kerrington", I placed a small kiss on his cheek.

I entwined my hand with his and started smiling like crazy, It's such a good day—-

"Watch out!", I screamed out.

Crash

"Help!"

"Give this to your mother, son".
