After Klaus's declaration, they had silently agreed to leave. Eira was nervous, she felt like she was walking on egg shells. Klaus wouldn't stop staring at her, trying to probe her reaction to what he told her. But she didn't have one to give.

    He could chase after her all he liked. Her feelings of right now were that she cared for him, she didn't want to see him get hurt. But she didn't care for him in a romantic way, at least not yet. This new her needed to be around him a lot more for her to feel that way or maybe she wouldn't feel that way at all.

   The whole car and plane ride back to Mystic Falls, they didn't say a word to each other. Eira didn't know what to say and neither did Klaus but her silence put him on edge, mostly because he didn't get to hear her voice that he loved so much. It drove him crazy, her silence.

   They arrived back in Mystic Falls. It was just becoming dawn. They were at the car at the airport. The hybrid Klaus brought with him was sent to the other hybrids at Tyler's house to find out what happened while he was away and report back to him. The hybrid came back and told Klaus the news that the hunter died, Elena killed him.

    The hybrid took a step back in fear of Klaus's anger and Klaus shooed him away. The hybrid quickly vamp sped away and Eira walked closer to Klaus. She entwined her hand with his.

    His anger was gone as soon her hand touched his. He stared down at her and she spoke, breaking that silence between them,"It'll be fine. Everything will be fine."

   Her words were a melody and he was entranced by its speaker. He fell under her spell that she had so tightly weaved him under the moment he saw her for the first time in that school hallway.

   Klaus sighed and his mind revealed a truth,"I miss you."

   Eira was stuck, frozen. She felt bad that she couldn't give him what he wanted or tell him what he wanted to hear. But it would be lie if she gave in and fulfilled his every wish.

   "Klaus, you know I don't...," she got cut off.

   "I know," Klaus pulled away from her, letting go of her hand. "You can't remember so therefore you can't miss me. I understand. It hurts but I understand."

   Eira bit her lip and nodded,"I think I should go home now."

   "Is that what you want?" Klaus asked.

   "It's been long enough and I can't stay with you anymore. It's too much," Eira explained.

    Klaus went and opened the door of the passenger seat of the car for her. She looked at him sadly and got in the car. Klaus came around to the drivers side and he started driving the car. His grip on the steering wheel was tight as he drove.

    They pulled up outside the Salvatore boarding house. Klaus vamp sped out of the car and he opened the passenger door. She got out and Klaus got her bag for her.

   She grabbed it from him. She looked up at him and said,"I do hope you'll be okay."

   "I will never be okay without you," Klaus replied bitterly, just making her feel more badly than she already did.

   Eira walked away from him and she went inside the house. Klaus watched her leave, wanting to never let her go. But he did.

    Eira walked into her house and she went upstairs to her room. She started taking things out of her bag and putting them into drawers. She heard a whoosh of air and her brothers had entered her room which had the door open.

    "You're back," Stefan stated.

     Eira just nodded and continued putting things away. Damon stated,"You're still mad."

   Eira turned to her brothers,"Yes, I'm still mad."

    Eira sighed,"But you're my brothers and I know that the only people I'll ever truly have is the both of you. So, I need you."

    Stefan and Damon looked at each other before looking back at Eira. Stefan took a step closer to Eira while Damon stayed back.

  "We'll be there for you. No more lies or betrayals," Stefan swore.

   Eira looked up from the ground and she looked at him,"You promise?"

   Stefan looked at Damon and he nodded. Stefan looked back at Eira,"We promise."

    Eira walked to Stefan and hugged him, tightly just wanting someone to hug her. She felt sad because of Klaus and she just wanted someone to be there for her.

    If that could be her brothers, she would be happy. She loved her brothers the most in her whole life. She would die for them and in her heart she believed they would die for her. She could forgive them for anything as long as they stayed her loving brothers.

   Eira pulled away from her hug with Stefan and she went to Damon. She hugged the life out of him and he chuckled. Her mood was getting better by the minute and a smile lit up her face. One thing she was sure of, the only people she would need in her life was her brothers at least for that moment.

    That one blissful moment.

    Eira stayed with her brothers all morning. They talked for hours until Damon got a urgent call from Elena. He left to help her because he loved her or at least he thought he did.

   Eira was left with Stefan and he asked,"How was Italy?"

   Her mood dejected and a frown took over her face making Stefan worry. Eira thought for a moment before speaking,"I don't know what to do. I wish I could remember because I feel bad."

   "I can tell Klaus cares about me so much and I feel bad," Eira continued, putting a hand to her heart, clutching at it.

   Stefan put his arm around her, pulling her into his side and she rested her head on his shoulder,"So is that why you're around him? Because you feel bad?"

   "No, I'm just- I can't help it," Eira tried explaining. "I don't what to do. I just need someone to tell me what to do."

     Like that, Eira fell back into her old ways of letting her brothers make her decisions for her. She thought it would be easier, more simple if she didn't have to figure out her confused, memory loss mind.

    Stefan tried to guide her in a way that allowed for her to figure out things for herself,"You once told me that everything would be alright when Elena and I broke up. You always like to believe that everything will be alright because that's who are you. So, just let everything happen on its own and it'll be alright."

    Eira smiled and pondered over his words. After awhile, Stefan got a call from Damon telling him that Elena hallucinated and killed Jeremy but he was wearing his ring so he survived.

   Stefan also got a call from Klaus telling that he knew that the hunter died and Elena killed him. He also knew about Elena's hallucinations which puzzled Stefan.

     Stefan left go to Elena's house because Klaus was waiting there. Klaus told Stefan how he killed the original Five hunters and how there was a consequence. The consequence was that Elena would see hallucinations until she took her own life. Elena had run outside and as soon as she did, Klaus took her.

    Stefan and Damon consulted Bonnie. She told them that she couldn't do the magic to break the curse that made Elena hallucinate but that they could talk to Shane because he knew everything. They made a plan. Damon would go with Bonnie to talk with Shane and Stefan would work on a way to get Elena out.

    Stefan called Rebekah and she spoke first,"I know you're calling for Elena. Don't bother."

   "Come on, Rebekah. Please. Just help me this once," Stefan pleaded.

    "Why do you want to help her anyway? You don't love her," Rebekah questioned.

    "I brought her into this life and Damon does love her. I can't let her get hurt," Stefan explained.

   "You truly are the better brother," Rebekah commented before sighing. "Nik left, he went to The Grill. There's some hybrids watching Elena. That's all I'm telling you."

   "Thank you," Stefan smiled.

   "Whatever," Rebekah said, sounding unconcerned but she was. She hung up the phone. She always liked Stefan. Even now.

    Stefan went back home to Eira, he would need her to distract Klaus and he immediately felt guilty. He didn't like using her, it was wrong. So if she didn't want to distract Klaus, then she didn't have to.

    Eira was in her room and on her dresser was that rose necklace that Stefan gave to her. He must have set it there for if she ever wanted to wear it again. She grabbed it and she clasped it around her neck.

   Stefan came to the open doorway of her bedroom and he saw her putting on the necklace. That guilt rose in him again.

   Stefan knocked on the door jamb to get her attention and she turned around. She smiled at him and that only made him feel worse.

   "I need you to do something," Stefan frowned.

   "What?" Eira asked.

   "Klaus took Elena," Stefan explained. "He's at The Grill and I need you to distract him so I can get her out."

   Eira looked down with a frown and Stefan spoke again,"You don't have to do it if you don't want to."

   Eira grabbed onto the necklace around her neck and she looked back up at Stefan,"I'll do it."

    Eira had to put on a dress to make sure Klaus stayed distracted. She didn't get why dresses distracted men but she went with it. Stefan brought her to The Grill and then he left, telling her he would keep her updated through her phone.

    Eira's heart hammered inside her chest as she walked into The Grill. She spotted Klaus at the bar and she walked slowly to him. Klaus knew she was there as soon as she walked in. He could tell by the scent of her blood.

    Eira walked and sat down next to him. Klaus looked at her and his eyes devoured every inch of her before returning to her eyes,"To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?"

   "I want you to give Elena back," Eira stated, nervously.

    "Is that what you want or did they just send you here to sweet talk me?" Klaus questioned, his face his showing disappointment.

    "It's what they want," Eira answered.

     "I didn't think you'd be one to go along with their plans. But you are wearing your brother's necklace again. You've reconciled. Congratulations," Klaus answered in bitterness.

   "Klaus," Eira looked down in guilt before looking back up at him. "I would never do anything to hurt you."

    "But you have. Here I thought I actually had a chance with you. But I won't, not as long as you do whatever your brothers say," Klaus answered and he stood up.

   Stefan went to Klaus's house and he entered. He walked silently through the house and then Rebekah showed up in front of him.

   "Well, don't just stand there," Rebekah said. "Come on."

   Stefan followed her,"I thought you weren't helping."

   "What Nik doesn't know won't kill him," Rebekah answered.

   "He could dagger you for this," Stefan stated.

   "I guess I'll deal with that when the time comes," Rebekah said and Stefan smiled.

    Rebekah led the way to the room where a hybrid was waiting. The hybrid wasn't sired and didn't do what Klaus said anymore.

    "I've noticed this one has been a bit unruly when following what Klaus says. Not quite as willing," Rebekah said to Stefan.

    "He's not sired," Stefan realized.

    "Klaus would kill me if I let you take Elena. He'll back soon," the hybrid said.

     "He won't," Rebekah said. "We just need to get access to Elena and then you'll be free. Nothing will happen."

    The non-sired hybrid agreed. He went and told the other hybrids to go to Tyler's because that's what Klaus wanted. Stefan came out once the sired hybrids were gone and then Stefan was given the keys to the room. The non-sired hybrid left, needing to get out of town before Klaus found out.

   Stefan went into the room that Elena was in and she was hallucinating. Stefan tried to calm her down but she wouldn't. Elena grabbed a lead pipe and stabbed it into his stomach and then she vamp sped away.

   Rebekah came into the room and pulled out the pipe,"You just let her get away?"

   "I didn't expect her to stab me with a pipe," Stefan replied, holding a hand to his stomach as it healed.

   Stefan then called Damon and told him that he lost Elena. Damon was assigned to go find Elena and Stefan was going to get Jeremy to kill a vampire to stop her hallucinations.

   As Klaus got up to leave, Eira got a text from Stefan saying that he lost Elena and that Jeremy needed a vampire to kill. She had to get her answer from Klaus quickly.

   Eira stood up and grabbed Klaus's arm, keeping him from leaving. He looked down at her as she spoke fearfully,"I wasn't sent here to get you to release Elena."

   "You don't say," Klaus stated.

    "I was sent to distract you while Stefan got Elena," Eira explained. "I know you'll be mad, but then he lost her."

   Klaus tore his arm from her hand and he walked quickly towards the exit of The Grill. Eira struggled to keep up with him.

   Once they were outside, she called his name. He turned on her,"Eira, I love you, but you need to stop talking."

   "They figured out how to stop the hallucinations," Eira said as Klaus walked away from her.

   He turned back around,"Tell me."

   "Jeremy needs a vampire to kill. He's the new hunter," Eira explained.

    "Why aren't you the new hunter? You saw the tattoo," Klaus questioned.

    "I don't know. I don't have any tattoos on me," Eira said. "I'm Mother Nature, I guess that just allows me to see what's there."

   "Well, are your brothers offering themselves up?" Klaus questioned, sarcastically.

    "We can turn a person or one of your hybrids," Eira suggested, hugging her arms around herself. She didn't like speaking about killing someone.

  "Now, why would I have one of my hybrids killed?" Klaus asked.

   "Stefan got Elena out, they obviously failed you," Eira said and looked up at him. "And I'll do whatever you want."

    Klaus clenched his jaw but he unclenched it. He took a step towards her and he put his hands on the side of her face.

   "What I want is for you to promise me that from now on you'll do what you want. Not what your brothers want. Just you," Klaus voiced his desires.

    Eira stared into his eyes,"I promise."

  Klaus called Stefan and he offered up one of his hybrids for Jeremy to kill. Eira felt guilty. She'd been feeling guilty all day. She hated it.

     Klaus then took her home and then he left to make Elena's hallucinations stop. Jeremy killing one of Klaus's hybrids. Eira waited in the living room for her brothers.

   Her brothers walked in and she stood up, but kept staring into the flames of the fireplace. Stefan and Damon walked over to her.

   "Jeremy killed a hybrid. How did you convince Klaus to do that?" Stefan asked.

   Eira turned around finally to face her brothers,"See, that's the thing. All day I've been doing what both of you want. Because I love you. I always will."

   "I promised Klaus that I would do what I want from now on. I helped you guys today and it wasn't me. I distracted Klaus and I hurt him. All of it isn't me," Eira continued. "I can't be the girl from 1864 anymore. The girl that did whatever the both of you said because that's not me. I thought I could be that way today and I can't. Not anymore."

   "I'm doing what I want from now on. I might help you or I might not. But I'm making my own choices," Eira declared and she walked away from her brothers.

    Eira finally felt liberated or free. She felt like she could do anything now and she could. It was true, she wasn't the girl from 1864 that got dictated by her brothers. She was only herself, who she wanted to be, and she had Klaus to thank. Even when Klaus was hurt and mad, he still wanted the best for her. At that thought, she smiled.

   Author's Note: I feel like such a proud mom right now. My little baby Eira is growing up. Eira is going to be so independent throughout the rest of the season, it's gonna be great.
