I'll Always Remember

Charlie,

The day you pushed me on the ground, getting scratches on my elbows and you laughing in my face. That was the day I knew you liked me. I mean come on, what other seven year old boy does that out of hate? I remember how your green eyes widened when I started to cry. You ran away, me wiping my eyes with my dress I stood up and smiled a little. I remember when you didn't talk to me the entire time we were in primary school, we had the same classes when we started middle school but we barely talked.

Simple greetings to each other, I knew you're little secret about your crush on me. It's ok because I liked you too. Your black hair, gorgeous green eyes, and award winning smile had me smitten when you gave me your crayons. We had our own group of friends in high school, I remember the small glances that we stole from each other but you always looked away first. Me being the confident girl that I was, I approached you at your locker and finally said how I felt. I remember how flustered you looked when I asked you out, telling me that guys usually asked out girls.

'This is the 21st century, Charlie if I like a guy I will tell him how I feel' I responded. You gave me an incredulous look then laughed. Agreeing, you walked away but not before giving me a slight push to my shoulder. I remember our first date and it was horrible, we went to the carnival and I ate too much and puked on your shoes. You were disgusted but took care of me, giving me ginger ale and crackers when you took me home. I remember how you wanted to kiss but I pleaded you to kiss my cheek, you kissed me anyway. I remember how soft and quick it was. I remember how we had to go to university, you went west and I went east. I remember that we made a promise to love each other always, I kept my promise and so did you when you proposed on graduation.

I'll always remember our fights of burnt chicken and forgotten birthdays but we made up. I'll always remember that I will stick by you when you got fired and help you get another job. I'll always remember that you told me you will stick by me when my dad died. I'll always remember the guy that I fell in love with while I'm reading this letter to you, but you're asleep right now. You better read this when you wake up.

Your old wife,

Andrea
