120. Shawn's First Father's Day

A/n: So, I know that Father's Day was yesterday, and I started writing this yesterday but didn't finish it. Also, the picture above has nothing to do with the imagine, but Shawn looks so good and I love the video that this is from, so yeah. Anyways, please enjoy this imagine. Okay, without further ado, let's begin!

I woke up in the morning and smiled. My handsome husband of a little over two years, the singer and songwriter, Shawn Mendes, was asleep next to me. Almost four months ago, I gave birth to our first child, a little girl, who we named Rose Lucille Mendes. I heard her cry, which instantly woke Shawn up. I started to get out of bed.

"No, stay in bed darling, I got her." Shawn said. I looked at him and shook my head at him.

"Nope. Today is your day off. Relax my love." I said as I walked out of the room and into Rose's nursery. I was dressed in shorts and one of Shawn's white t-shirts that was like a dress on me. I picked Rose up and smiled at her. As soon as I had picked her up, she stopped crying.

"She's such a good baby." Shawn said. I turned around and looked at him as I smiled. He was in gray shorts and a black tank top. I nodded.

"Yeah, she is. Happy Father's Day honey." I said. Shawn smiled as he walked over to Rose and I.

"Thank you. Mind if I hold her?" Shawn asked. I shook my head as I handed Rose over to him. His smile widened as he held her.

"Got her?" I asked. He nodded and then sat down in one of the rocking chairs that was in her nursery. I sat in the one next to him and smiled at my amazing husband and our amazing daughter.

"I love the fact that she looks just like you. She has your hair and eyes and everything. She's a spitting image of you. Aren't you Rosie girl? Don't you look just like your beautiful Momma? Yes you do sweet pea." Shawn said. My heart swelled with love for this man and our baby.

"I'll be right back." I said. Shawn nodded and smiled as he kept his eyes on Rose, who's so precious to him and I. I grabbed my phone, went back to Shawn and Rose, and took a few pictures of them.

"Did you take a picture of us baby?" Shawn asked as he looked up at me when I sat down next to him. I nodded.

"Yeah, I took a few of them. Do you want to see them?" I asked. He nodded so I got up and showed them to him.

"I love them." He said. I kissed his cheek and then sat down again.

"Thank you honey. Do you mind if I post them on Instagram?" I asked. He shook his head as he looked at Rose again.

"That's fine darling." He said. I went to Instagram and posted the photos that I had taken. In the first one, Shawn was holding Rose as he smiled at her. In the second one, he was rubbing her cheek with his index finger, and in the third one, he was kissing her forehead. I wrote the caption.

"Happy Father's Day to my amazing husband and Rose's amazing father! Shawn, I was already so in love with you before Rose was born, but to see you with Rose has made me fall for you even more. You're the best Daddy to our little girl and the relationship that you have with her truly is so beautiful to see. I love hearing you sing to her and watching you play with her and spend time with her. Thank you for being the best Daddy to our Rosie girl. Rose and I love you so much!" I captioned it. I set my phone down and looked at Shawn. He was smiling at her and then looked up at me.

"Do you think that she recognizes my voice from when I sang to her when she was in your belly?" Shawn asked. I nodded.

"Yeah. Remember how you used to sing Isn't She Lovely to her when she was in my belly?" I asked. Shawn nodded.

"Yeah." He said.

"Whenever you sing it to her now, it calms her right down. Whenever you talk to her or sing to her she seems to calm down right away. I definitely think that she's a Daddy's girl." I said. Shawn smiled.

"You know Mrs. Mendes, I never got a good morning kiss from you." He said. I smiled and giggled.

"Should we fix that?" I asked. Shawn nodded.

"Definitely." He said. I stood up and put my lips on his. I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon, I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my tummy, and I felt sparks shoot through my body like fireworks. We soon pulled away and smiled at each other.

"I'll go make us some pancakes, you stay with Rose." I said.

"No, I'll make pancakes." Shawn said as he carefully stood up since Rose was still in his arms.

"Babe, it's your first Father's Day. It's your day to relax." I said. Shawn gave me another kiss on the lips and then kissed my cheek.

"Is it okay if I at least come downstairs with you?" Shawn asked. I nodded.

"Of course it is. Should we put Rose in her little seat?" I asked. Shawn nodded.

"Yeah." He said with a smile. We went downstairs and Shawn put Rose in the baby chair that we had gotten for her.

"Pancakes or waffles?" I asked. Shawn thought for a moment.

"Waffles." He said. I nodded.

"Okay. Do you want to feed Rose while I make the waffles?" I asked my handsome and amazing husband. He nodded and then kissed my cheek before kissing my shoulder.

"Yeah. I love you baby girl." He said. I smiled.

"I love you too." I said. Shawn then sat down and fed Rose her baby food as I made some waffles for Shawn and I. I smiled as I heard him talk to Rose as he tried to get her to eat. As I waited for the waffles to be ready, I got my phone out and took a video on Snapchat of Shawn feeding Rose.

"Watch Rosie, look, here comes the airplane." Shawn said and then I recorded him make airplane noises. My heart swelled with love for this man. I wrote a caption for the Snapchat.

"So this is happening right now. I love this man, our daughter, and Shawn's love for our daughter so much!!!" I wrote and then saved it to my Snapchat memories and posted it. When the food was ready, I brought it over to the table. Shawn smiled at me.

"Thanks babe. I'm just going to finish feeding her and then I'll eat." He said. I nodded and rubbed his back a little before sitting down.

"Okay baby. I love watching you interact with her." I said as I watched him continue to feed Rose. Shawn smiled.

"I just love her so much, you know? And it's like, I never thought that I could love someone or something as much as I love you, but gosh, she's proven me wrong." Shawn said. I smiled.

"I know, I feel the same way." I said.

"My love?" Shawn asked as he finished feeding Rose and wiped her mouth.

"Yes handsome?" I asked.

"Promise me something." He said as he moved so he was turned towards me. I put my chin on my hand and smiled at my husband.

"Anything." I said.

"Promise me that even when we have a baby boy, you'll still call me baby boy." He said.

"I'll promise you that as long as you promise to always call me baby girl." I said. He smiled and nodded.

"I promise to never stop calling you baby girl." He said.

"Well, then I promise to never stop calling you baby boy." I said. Shawn smiled.

"Thank you darling." He said.

"You're welcome." I said. We then ate breakfast.

"What are the plans for today baby girl?" Shawn asked as him and I finished washing the dishes. He wrapped an arm around my waist and I leaned on him as I looked up at him.

"We'll do anything you want today. Today is all about you. But first, Rose and I got you presents." I said as we finished doing the dishes. I looked at Shawn and he smirked at me.

"How not even four month old baby picked out a present for me?" Shawn asked. I gently swatted at his chest as I rolled my eyes. He laughed.

"Okay, so maybe I picked out both presents, but still, one of them is technically from her." I said. Shawn gave me a kiss.

"Okay darling." He said.

"How about you go sit on the couch with Rose and I'll go get the presents." I said. Shawn nodded.

"Okay." He said and then gave me another kiss. I went upstairs and got the two presents. I then went back downstairs and Shawn was holding Rose in his arms as they sat on the couch.

"Ready for your presents?" I asked. Shawn looked up at me as he smiled and nodded.

"Yeah." He said. He handed Rose to me as I gave him the wrapped presents.

"Here you go babe. This one is from Rose, and this one is from me." I said as I held Rose in one arm and pointed at the presents with my free hand. Shawn opened up the one that was from me first. I saw his smile widen as he looked at the framed picture of us. It had been taken just a few weeks ago. Shawn was holding Rose in his arms, and my head resting on his shoulder as we both smiled at Rose.

"I love this honey. This is beautiful. Thank you so much." Shawn said before giving me a kiss.

"You're welcome my love. I'm glad that you love it." I said.

"So this one's from Rose?" Shawn asked with a smirk. I nodded and giggled.

"Yup." I said. He opened up the wrapping and I saw him smile again as happy tears formed in his eyes. It was a framed picture of him and Rose, soon after I had given birth. It was their first photo together, and you could tell by the look on Shawn's face in the picture, that as he smiled at Rose, he was proud. He looked at me.

"Thank you for this. I love it baby. This isn't even going to go in my office, I want to put this in our bedroom." He said before wiping a tear away.

"You're welcome. I'm glad that you love it. That was your first picture with her." I said. Shawn looked at the picture and nodded.

"Yeah. I love you Y/n, and I love you Rose." Shawn said as he set the frames aside and gently took Rose out of my arms.

"We love you too." I said. I leaned my head on his shoulder as we watched Rose. I looked up at Shawn and he looked at me.

"What's up baby girl?" He asked.

"Happy Father's Day." I said. He gave me a sweet and beautiful and loving kiss.

"Thank you baby." He said. I smiled at him and then at our daughter. The rest of the day, we spent with Shawn, doing whatever he wanted. He didn't want to do much, he just wanted to spend time with us, so that's what we did. I love Shawn, Rose, and how he interacts with Rose, so much. I'm so glad that he loved his first Father's Day.
