01. Tears.

There are a lot of mistakes in this chapter, I will fix at a later date.

Dedication for this chapter goes to @LadyoftheDark for guessing the name of the 'magic man'; Fergus.

This might be boring, but the next chapter I'm going jump straight into the story.

"Thank you daddy, papa, I love you both to the moon and back," Kristy said with tears rushing down hee cheeks as she said the words she used to tell them everyday.

"Bye daughter," Ashley whispered holding onto the sobbing Kyo in a tight grip as his own body threatened to collapse.

Kristy stepped inside the cab of her Mustang and sat staring at them a second before she closed the door and stomped on the gas, leaving the territory.

"We love you," The heart broken fathers whispered together through the fading mind-link as they watched the car disappear.

The second she left her parents' territory Kristy felt a sense of freedom unlike anything she had felt in years, though it was tainted with the knowledge she had left the two most important people in her life behind, heartbroken

***************************

Earlier That Day.

Kristy gently pressed on the large purple bruise that cover most of her lower abdomen, flinching away when pain pulsed through her beaten body.

A small whimper left her lips and tears stung her eyes, she refused to let them fall.

'I am not weak, I won't cry.'

Her bloodshot eyes stared back through the mirror with burning intensity, judging her. Kristy's pale hands skimmed across her stomach feeling every flaw that littered her skin, whether it be cuts or burns.

A pained sigh left her lips, it was beginning to be more then she could take, but Kristy knew she wouldn't tell her fathers.

"Kristy! Sweetie, come down stairs!" Kyo yelled from the her bedroom door.

She stared at herself a few seconds longer before she quickly dropped her shirt, covering her body afraid he might come see why she hadn't answered his call.

A fleeting look in her bathroom mirror assured her that nothing looked out of place.

"Coming Papa!" She called to him once she reached the threshold of the bathroom.

Kyo smiled sadly at his little girl - well she wasn't so little anymore - her dull green eyes that used to radiate with happy now stared emotionlessly, her striking raven hair now hung lifeless-ly around her shoulders.

No matter what Kyo and Ashley would always think she was the most beautiful woman to walk the earth, she was after all their daughter.

He and his mate had been worried about her for so long about her, they had let her be thinking she would bounce back or that it was just some silly teenage phrase.

But it had only progressed and they had no knowledge of what to do to make it better. They missed the little girl that used to sing and dance up the corridors at five in the morning, now they were lucky to see her smile.

"What's wrong papa?" Kristy asked knowing his moods, he was upset about something.

"We'll talk about it later, sweetie."

They walked to Kyo and Ashely's room were Ashleys' hulking form took up most of the huge king size big.

Kristy crawl onto the bed and laid leaning against his chest as Kyo laid down on the other side so she was inbetween then.

They sat in a peaceful silence relishing in the moment, it had been many years since they had just sat together with no worries.

Ashley heaved a sigh running a hand threw his hand,  "we know something is happening baby girl." He finally revealed.

Both Kyo and Ashley felt their daughter stiffen in their arms, her eyes wide as she stared at both of them in horror.

"They couldn't know, right? Please tell me they don't." She begged in her mind praying to any god or goddess that would listen.

"We don't know what it is," Kristy relaxed in their arms releasing the breath she didn't even realize she was holding.  "But we know it's bad," Kyo continued,  "we both know your not happy here anymore sweetie. Your dad and I worry about you, your our little girl, our daughter and we can't even protect you!"

Kyo was mental beating himself up, where had they gone wrong? What could they have done to save their daughter this pain?

Tears begun to leak from his eyes, Kyo felt like such a failure. He failed to keep his daughter safe from the cruelty of the world.

She smiled faintly, Kyo had always been the more emotional of her two fathers. He was always doing what he thought was best, and sometimes it was misguided, but he tried, no one could fault him for that.

Ashley was more strict and protective of the two of them. He was their protector. She couldn't wish for any two better parents.

"I'm not happy" Kristy whispered softly to the silence, her eyes closed to block out the pain she knew would be plastered across their faces.

"Why?" Kyo asked with salty tears still falling,  "we can fix it," he insisted.

Kristy laughed humorless-ly as she gripped her fathers arms pulling them close. It wasn't that easy for Kristy to explain, she knew for sure they would both blame themselves. Kristy couldn't stand the thought of them knowing that their pack members beat her because they homophobic. She loved them too much to put that burden on them.

"We know your planning on running away." Ashley said patting her hair like he did when she was just a child.

"I-I I wasn't-" Kristy stuttered confused, how did they know she had planned on leaving.

"There no need to lie sweetie, we know know."

"But I'm disappointed that you didn't come to us," Ashley said, his voice thick with the emotions he battled not to show.

"I would if I could," she whispered.

A knock down stairs forced them to leave the bubble that had created.

The small family of three laid silent for a moment longer before getting up with a sigh, the world waited for no one.

"Wear something nice Kristy, it's your 19 birthday sweetie."

"Alright daddy."

Kristy had almost forgotten that today was her birthday she would rather have it be dismissed, but alas shewas the  alphas child and that was to be celebrated.

In her room Kristy picked out black high waist skinny jeans, awhite button up that was tucked into her shorts loosely, she had the sleeves rolled up to her elbows and her black suspenders we're firmly on her shoulders. Her rainbow thigh-high sock a striking contrast to her over the knee laced up buckled boots.

Kristy walked into the hall and almost walked right back out when she spotted the evil incarnation; her grandmother.

She stood to the right of Ashley; her son, looking ever the colourful peacock she was. Her brown greying hair was pulled into a tight bun at the top of her head as her brown eyes stared at Kristy with disapproval. The bright blue cardigan and her white skirt doing nothing to light the aura that surround the old hag.

There was nothing nice about Grace Bethany Time, nothing at all. She was all mean, and she always had something to critic Kristy on.

"Late again, Kristy?" Grace asked arrogance adding a chime-like laugh to make it appear less hateful.

"Sorry grandmother Grace," Kristy murmured, trying not to wince at the laughter of the others in the room.

"Well your here now we can eat," she said snobbish-ly taking hold of her son's arm and walking of to the table.

"I hate that woman," Kristy grumbled under her breathe.

"You and me both, sweetie," Kyo whispered in her ear before taking her to her seat.

Kristy almost groaned aloud when she saw where her fathers had placed her; right with the people that bullied her most.

Unfortunately for Kristy, Kyo and Ashley had it in their head that Kristy was popular when in fact she was far from it.

She sighed and resigned herself to the torment she would face through this dinner.

Once seated Kristy kept her head down trying not to look up when she felt their stares.

"I have a present for you Kristy," someone said from across from her.

She was shocked to see Emily Thomson holding out a small bright pink box towards her while looking at her smiling.

Emily Thompson had never in her nineteen years ever been nice to Kristy, so she was instantly suspicious.

Kristy took the box carefully, like it was a bomb ready to explode, afraid of what might be inside.

Pulling away the pink poke-a-dot ribbon to find a small purple jewelry box, Kristy shot a look up at Emily to see her nodding encouragingly at her, her eyes shining with mischief.

Kristy pulled the box open and nestled between the baby pink cushion shining menacingly in the light was a razor blade.

Tears slowly made there way down Kristy cheeks as she struggled to control her emotions.

A month ago during P.E someone had spotted the white lines that covered her wrists and instantly called her out on it. Kristy had stopped self-harming last year, but the scars would always be there.

"Go a little deeper next time," Emily laughed, it was apparently contagious because the rest of the wolves around joined in.

*

Kyo watched as Kristy stormed out the glass side doors headed for the forest just past the boundary of the house, into the dark forest.

He didn't know what to do anymore, they were clueless.

Kyo's attention went back to where the other teenage wolves sat, all laughing. He had been told they were her friends, was that wrong? Weren't they?

They has seen Kristy around them multiple times.

Ashley watched Kyo's eyebrow crease half-heartedly listen to his mother rant about something or rather.

"Its time," Kyo whispered sorrowful his voice breaking even through their mate link.

"Thank you everyone for coming here to celebrate this wonderful occasion with us tonight, Kristy our own beloved daughter's nineteen birthday.

"We have important business to attend to, but everyone is welcome to stay the night is still young." Ashely finished taking Kyo's hand and leaving the same as their daughter had.

*

"Are we really going to do this?" Ashley asked breaking the silence between his mate himself, shifting the heavy duffle bag into a better position on his shoulder.

Kyo who was slightly ahead of him moved a branch out of the way the way as they continue to walk through the woods to find their runaway daughter.

"Don't make me second guess or I'll never be able to let her leave," Kyo warned Ashley.

"Alright alright, but... do you think we're doing the right thing?" Ashley couldn't help but ask, forgoing the tough guy persona now it was just his mate and himself.

"I don't wanna see pain in our baby's eyes anymore," Kyo confided choked up taking Ashley's hand for comfort.

Ashley squeezed his hand back fighting the feeling that rested on his chest every time he thought of the tears he'd seen his baby girl shed.

To many times had she smiled while pain was the dominate emotion in her eyes.

Loud gut-wrenching sobs broke the lovers moment, rushing they made for where the sound had come from.

In a fetal position half hidden by the twisting roots Kristy laid sob her heart out.

Dropping the bag both men ran over to her pulling her from the damp ground and into the warmth of their bodies.

All three begun to rock back and forth taking comfort together like they used when Kristy was still a child.

Once they had settled down enough Kristy choked out,  "I have to leave." It was so quite one might have thought she hadn't said a word.

"We know" Ashley whispered.

"Tell me about how you found me, one more time," Kristy asked holding onto her fathers in a bruising grip, they didn't complain.

Kyo started,  "it was here under this very willow tree, where I was going to reject my mate. I was afraid to admit I was gay and planned to marry a human so it wouldn't be known."

Both Kristy and Kyo felt Ashley's arms tighten around them, remembering the fear he had that his mate didn't want him. It still hurt to even think about it.

"We were arguing under the canopy trying to keep dry from the rain that was pouring heavily. With the rain, thunder and of course our yelling neither of us could hear the tiny whaling of the children hid behind the roots," Ashley continued.

"You dad took me into his arms and kiss me," Kyo smiled his eyes twikling in the faded moonlight.

"Shocked the Hell out of him, I did," Ashley said proudly chuckling.  "Got us both to quite down real quick too."

"It was then, we hear it," Kyo smiled.

"What papa?" Kristy asked, already knowing, she'd heard the story a thousand time, she could recite it from memory, word for word.

"A cry." Ashley whispered.

"It was the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. Ashely and I cautiously walked around the roots tying  locate where the sound had come from. I tripped over and there right in front of me was the creature that made the sound; a baby wrapped in a red blanket.

"I pick the baby up, the blanket was miraculously dry, not a stop of rain. The baby opened her big green eyes and stared straight into my eyes, like she was staring right into my soul, seeing every flaw and every misdeed. I started crying."

"As he was does," Ashley continued.  "I peeked over his shoulder and those forest green eyes flashed to me. I was captured. I looked at the baby than at Kyo and said,  '"She's ours"'. He looked me like I was crazy, there we were him eighteen and me twenty both males and taking a child in, a baby girl at that." He laughed.

"Cautiously Kyo had lifted a finger and ran in over the babies face, she watched us before her eyes begun to flutter, she fell asleep in my arms.

"It was under this tree with a newborn on the pouring rain did we finally become the fairly we were always destined to be," Ashley finished.

Ashley stuffed the duffle bag into the back seat of the black an white striped  1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 that was Kristy birthday present, listen to Kyo told their daughter of all the dangers to stay away from, that they were just a phone call away.

"Okay papa, I promise I'll be safe." Krisry laughed pull a crying Kyo into her arms.

"I love you, fathers," the raven haired girl smiled up at the two men that meant the world to her, one foot inside the cab of her car.

"Thank you daddy, papa, I love you both to the moon and back," Kristy said with tears rushing down hee cheeks as she said the words she used to tell them everyday.
