Halloween store
Evan sat in the living room, excited. It was his day off and he was waiting for Preston so they could go to the Halloween store that opened in hell 2. "Oh man, I can't wait! This is the closest thing to a date we've been on in a while, and to the Ghost Halloween! One of the biggest seasonal chains ever!" He thought, wallet ready as he waited.
However, the purplenette just came downstairs, still in his PJs. "Oh, Hey, morning Evan. You look nice today." He commented, seeing Evan in his outside clothes. "Ah, thank you." The envy demon replied but was feeling irked. "Why didn't he mention that we're going to the Halloween Store? Did he just say that we were going just to get my hopes up?" He thought as he watched Preston go to the kitchen. "Ah, right, he eats first than showers. Maybe he'll mention it after his shower. If I ask him, he'll get annoyed with me so there's no point in asking."
"Babe, you good?" Preston asked, eating his piece of toast. "Ah! Oh, Pres, yes, I'm good." Evan lied. However, after his shower, the purple-haired demon wasn't ready, he didn't even have socks on. "What the hell? I thought that- Y'know what, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, he probably forgot." The green haired demon thought. "Well, while he remembers, I guess I'll do some laundry." He said as he got up, not changing, just in case.
As the hours moved by, Evan was getting restless. "He still hasn't remembered. Maybe I should drop some hints." He thought entering the living room, where Preston was watching TV. "Hey, Pres, what day is it?"
"Uh, Friday? Why?"
"Oh, no reason." Evan said. "Yeah, he completely forgot. But he shouldn't have set this up then, because he always forgets these things if they aren't written down! Well, that's on me for thinking he'd even remember... What if he isn't even forgetting? What if he just doesn't want to go on a date with me?" He thought as he went back to dealing with the laundry. Though he decided to give him an hour before just going by himself.
And as that hour was up, he went to the door. "Preston I'm going to Ghost Halloween; I'll be back in a bit." He stated. "Alright have fun." The pride demon stated before going back to his show. He was binging all the episodes of a series Evan recommended.
Evan paused for a bit before heading out. "He doesn't remember...? Like at all? I even mentioned the location, and yet he just glossed it off. Have I done something to upset him?"
He dwelled on the thought for a while as he shopped around the store. He really liked the accessories, so he just got some green and black ones, since they matched his vibe, he also got Preston something since he knew the purple haired demon would ask if he got him anything. "I'll come back later to pick out a costume with Pres... If he even wants to do a couple's costume..." He spoke to himself on the way home.
As he entered, the purple haired sin was not on the couch. "Huh? Where is he?"
"Oh, babe you're back. I, uh, thought you'd be gone longer." Preston called from the kitchen. "He is he in there? He doesn't know how to cook." Evan thought before entering, seeing Preston plating up from ordered food. "I thought that if I plated up take out it would seem like I made it myself."
"Okay... Why?"
"Well, to be honest, you're mad at me and I don't know why so I thought sharing a cooked meal at the table would be a way for us to talk, but I don't know how to actually cook so uh, yeah."
"... You don't know why?"
"I don't. You didn't talk about it." Preston stated. "Well, yeah, I didn't want to seem annoying." Evan commented, looking away. "You aren't, you wouldn't. Can you tell me what is wrong?"
The two sat at the table, facing each other, and Preston was ready to listen.
"You said last week that we were going to go to Ghost Halloween together and I thought it was because you didn't like me." The green haired sin confessed. "Really? That's it?"
"Well, it was the only date like thing we've been able to do for a while now, and I just thought maybe you'd remember tha-" Evan started before realizing he was losing his temper. "I... I'm sorry. Let's just forget about this."
"Nope. I'm not gonna." Preston said before getting up. "Why is he getting up? Is he leaving? Oh, shit, I fucked up, didn't I? I shouldn't have been so short tempered. He's going to leave me forever and never love me again!"
As Evan feared the worst, tears forming in his eyes, he also got up. "Ev? What's wrong?" Preston asked, only getting to start the kettle so they can have tea to comfort them.
"Please... Please don't leave me... I-I'm sorry for having that outburst..." Evan quickly apologized. "Huh? Why would I leave you? I mean I should have written it down somewhere on the Calander like other events. That's on me. I'm sorry I forgot."
"So... So you're not leaving me?"
"Nope. I know it won't make up for it, but next day off we have, we'll go, erm, but remind me, okay?"
"Okay..."
"Want a hug?"
"Yeah... I love you..."
"I love you too."
And so, the two embraced each other and went to eat the dinner Preston plated up. It was somewhat lukewarm, but Evan didn't mind.
