Apologies
Damian wandered through the hallways of the Seven Sin Co building, unsure of where the meeting room was. Since he was now a part of the team, he wanted to make sure he attended meetings. Looking around, he spotted his co-worker Evan. "Oh! He might know where the meeting room is." He thought as he sprinted towards the green haired demon.
However, he went a bit overkill and accidently knocked him over. "Hey watch it!"
"Eek! Oh, uh, sorry, Evan, I was just trying to get your attention. Do you know where the meeting room is?" The black-haired sin asked. "Yeah, it's done the hall, but there isn't a meeting today, it was moved to tomorrow, didn't you get the email?" Evan asked, only to be met with silence. "Uh, well... um... Sorry I didn't know how to use the computer. Sorry that I'm so incompetent..."
"Geez it's fine, just stop apologizing so much, I mean, the more you say it the less genuine it sounds, not to mention it's kinda annoying." Evan commented before taking Damian to set up his computer. "Annoying...?" He thought. He was going to dwell on that for a while.
"Alright you got all that? I'll just leave you some notes, so you don't forget."
"Ah, uh, thank you, Evan. S-" Damian paused, catching himself about to apologize again. "See you later." He corrected. "No problem."
As the greenette walked out, Damian sighed. "Is it really annoying? I mean... I guess it is annoying to have to constantly reassure someone like me... But I just feel like I'm a burden..." He thought. "... Should I even go to the meeting tomorrow?"
As he dwelled on it, he started forming orbs. He does this whenever he's stressed or just feeling general despair. "Gah! Oh no, if they touch them, I'd have to apologize. What if that makes me more annoying??? Ah! Maybe if I seal them away, they won't touch anyone." He thought as he grabbed them. Being that he created the orbs, he was able to touch them without them bursting and affecting him. Once he got them all he shoved them into a drawer of his desk.
Just then, he got an email from Levi. "Bonjour, I heard you got your email set up. Tres Bien~! Anyway, the meeting is at 1:00 pm, make sure to remember. Also, if you would like anything for the meeting (Snacks and such) Please respond with what you would like. TTYL, Levi." The email said. Damian, wanting to reply to an email for the first time, responded to it, but only said "Plums".
"Is that too simple? Should I explain more? Wait, are plums hard to get in hell?"
As he worried about it, he released more orbs. "Calm down, just calm down and collect the orbs you made."
As he muttered to himself, he didn't notice the door open. "Damian, I got your email. did you want fresh plums or..." It was Levi. "Oh? Are you alright? You seem exhausted."
"Oh, um, I'm fine, thank you for the concern." Damian stammered as he was hiding the bag of orbs behind his back. "Are you sure? You look like you're about to pass out." The red head commented, trying to see what its younger coworker was trying to hide. In truth, creating all those orbs took a lot out of him, but Damian wasn't going to let that interfere with his job.
"I... I'm sure. Um, and I would like fresh plums at the meeting tomorrow, if it's not too much of a hassle... S-" Damian paused as he was about to apologize. "Wait I shouldn't apologize; Levi might find it annoying...!" He thought.
Levi, just thinking maybe he slept wrong, decided to let it go. "Alright, well, I'll come back at the end of the day to walk home with you." It spoke before leaving. Once it was gone, the ravenette let out a sigh.
He could barely keep his eyes open. Most of his energy was released. "Maybe I should get some coffee from the break room?" He thought as he got up, stumbling down the hall to the break room.
Unfortunately, two of his co-workers were there. Ava and Garrett. "Oh, hey Damian, are you okay? You look tired." Garrett commented. "Yeah... I'm fine, I was just going to make some coffee."
"Are you sure? Seb can knock you out if you want. Just for an hour so you can rest-"
"I'm not that tired." Damian stated before pausing. "Thank you for the offer though... I guess." He said as he brewed the coffee. However, he heard whispering from Ava. "He isn't going to apologize? How rude."
Damian was going to lose it. "It's rude to not apologize, it's annoying to apologize too much...! Why can't I just do things correctly?!" He thought, taking his coffee and bolting, accidentally dropping some orbs as he ran. He was almost back to his office when it happened, the last of his energy was used running and making orbs. He hit the floor as he passed out, spilling his lukewarm coffee all over the polished linoleum floors.
An hour later, he found himself back home in his bed. He was in his pajamas, as if he wasn't at work at all. "Was it a nightmare?" He asked himself. He got his answer as Levi entered the room, a concerned look on their face. "Damian. I brought you some tea." It spoke, placing the mug of tea beside him. "What happened...? Why am I back home...?"
"Well, you passed out in the hallway, and we thought you had been overworked, turns out you were from all the orbs in your office. But... I wanted to talk to you about that. Why did you make so many?" It asked, sitting on the foot of the bed. "I...I..." Damian could barely get through a sentence before his eyes welled up with big black tears. "I didn't want you to think I was annoying...!" He sobbed.
This broke Levi's heart to see him like this. "Awe, Mon garçon, why would I ever think of you as annoying?"
"B-because Evan said, 'if you apologize too much it'll lose its meaning and it's annoying'. But then I didn't apologize, and Ava called me rude." He continued to sob. "I see..." Levi stated as he scooped the smaller sin in its arms. "Don't listen to them. I would never find you annoying. Your constant apologies are a cute little quirk I find adorable."
"You... You won't?"
"Of course not, I love you like my son. You had a hard day today, how about we spend the rest of it doing something fun?" Levi suggested, getting a nod from Damian. Once the younger sin calmed down, the two got some takeout and spent the rest of the day watching a movie.
