leave your worries, be free to the last | genshin impact ninjago au

To those who do not know Genshin Impact it is a Chinese action game with fun combat and awesome characters! I've totally fallen in love with it and I wanted to write a ninjago version!

Starring Lloyd as The Traveler of course.

It may be confusing to those who don't know what Genshin is but I'll try and explain everything. I'll also include Vocabulary at the bottom.

Title from the English translated lyrics to Let The Wind Tell You 让风告诉你 (Genshin Impact Fansong)

This song is so cute I love it. 👆🏼

Lloyd sighed in relief when he finally made it to Monstadt. The town looked grande in front of the rising sun, the flags waving in the wind as he strolled across the bridge. The pigeons scattered as the traveler walked by. The little boy feeding them glared at Lloyd with ferocity.

"Hey!" Timmie scowled. "You scared them away!"

Lloyd gave an apologetic smile and hurried away before the child could berate him any more. Paimon, his small, floating companion drifted beside him. She clapped her hands with excitement as people bustled by.

"Paimon is very hungry!" The girl told him. "We should get some food!"

"We're here on business Paimon!" Lloyd rolled his eyes. "We can't get distracted!"

Paimon tilted her head innocently. "But if we're hungry we're more likely to be unfocused!"

Lloyd sighed. "Fine. But I need to see stop by The Adventurers Guide first, okay?"

Paimon cheered with excitement. The fairy-like creature zipped quickly ahead, dodging past the village people swiftly. Lloyd shook his head with amusement and jogger after her. His cape swung behind him as they arrived at the little stall. There was a young man in front of them. He wore dark clothes, detailed with read. A katana was very visibly hanging at his belt. Beside it a pyro vision. The man was talking very heatedly with the lady working at the desk, irritation evident in his tone.

"Look," the guy said through gritted teeth. He visibly was restraining himself. "I'm not putting up a commission. I'm asking if you know anyone I can use for backup."

"Our guild is for adventurers, Kai." Katherine replied with equally forced patience. "I think that a problem like this will have to be looked at by The Knights of Favonius. Even then, you may not get anyone. There's a lot going on, The Abyss Order is getting braver and we're losing a lot of people because they're helping to get a handle on the attacks."

"Yeah! Fight the guy that took my sister!" Kai snarled.

Katherine gave him a look. "You don't know if it was Garmadon who took her."

Lloyd felt his blood run cold at the name. Paimon glanced nervously at her friend. Kai simply bared his teeth at her and went to storm off, crashing into Lloyd. Kai cursed and went to shove past Lloyd but the traveler stopped him.

"Wait..." Lloyd said quietly.

"Listen, buddy. I don't have time-" Kai snapped.

"I'm trying to help you!" Lloyd cut him off before leaning over the desk to talk to Katherine. "Not everyone is in the war. Is there any person you can spare? Anyone you know who's looking for a job, like me?"

"Uh- Lloyd? What are you doing?" Paimon questioned nervously.

Katherine furrowed her brow. "There... may be one person but he's not recommended..."

"We'll take whoever we can get." Lloyd told her.

Kai raised an eyebrow. "We?" He said dubiously. "I don't even know you!"

"We have a mutual goal at the moment and I think we should take advantage of it." Lloyd lifted his chin.

Kai studied him. "You're just a kid." He said incredulously.

Lloyd sputtered. "You're not that much older than I am!"

"Kai, this is The Traveller, Lloyd. He's one of our best adventurers." Katherine explained. "Lloyd, this is Kai. He's a blacksmith at The Four Weapons."

Lloyd inclined his head. "Look, I'm willing to help you. You don't seem like you're in the position to be picky about help."

"Why do you want to help me anyways." Kai asked, crossing his arms. His eyes narrowed. The scar over his amber eye pinched with the movement.

"Uh-" Lloyd swallowed awkwardly. "Like I said a mutual goal."

Kai stared at him for a moment. Paimon squeaked from the intense look and hid behind Lloyd. After a moment something flickered in Kai's eyes before he spun towards Katherine. "Okay, what adventurers are available?"

Katherine scribbled something onto a piece of paper and handed it to him. "Here is the one person that is crazy enough to follow you into Garmadon's lair." She said.

Kai gave a muttered thank you before he took off. He strode quickly down the steps, reading the list as he went.

"Hey!" Paimon complained.

Lloyd shrugged. "We better follow him."

"Be careful with that one." Katherine nodded to the retreating shape. "He's a wild card."

Lloyd gave an awkward nod and then ran to catch up. The taller boy's fast pace never wavered. Not even when Lloyd came up beside him. Kai barely acknowledged their presence.

"Where are we going?" Lloyd asked at last.

"The junk pit near Springvale." Kai said curtly. "Someone named Jay Walker lives there."

"How many are you hoping to have on the team?"

"Honestly, I was going to go by myself." Kai grumbled. "But some old guy advised me against it."

Lloyd wasn't sure how to reply to that so he kept quiet as Kai stalker his way down the road. The young man stopped in front of the large statue beside the path. Lloyd pressed his hand to it. The statue of the seven lit up with a cool blue glow. Lloyd closed his eyes, choosing the teleport waypoint closest to Springvale. There was roar in his ears and his stomach churned like it was being turned inside out. Then, just as quickly as it came, it stopped. Lloyd opened his eyes and the scenery had changed. The cute little houses appearing before him.

Kai led the way. He walked with arrogance, like he knew he didn't belong there but he didn't care. Lloyd wishes he had that kind of confidence. Paimon and him exchanged looks as they followed. Kai made it to a little house at the edge of the town. Junk and old broken down objects were scattered around. They carefully picked their way through as Kai knocked on the door, his hand twitching at his side nervously. Lloyd could tell he was on guard.

There was a click and a crash as the door swung open. Revealing a youthful boy with bright curly ginger hair and a wide smile. An electro vision danced on his sash, the purple contrasting with the sooty blue of his clothing. Humongous goggles were balanced on his forehead, sliding over his eyes a little as he greeted the newcomers.

"Hello!" He said brightly.

"Oh no," Kai groaned. "This team is going to be full of children."

*****

Jay, Lloyd learned, was decently okay at fighting. He wasn't the world's best but having an electro was valuable onto the team. Jay used a catalyst, the boon fluttered around him as he projected his bolts towards the incoming hilicurls. Lloyd drew his sword, swiping easily and projected a wind blaze  towards Kai so he could finish them off.

"Woah! You're anemo!" Jay exclaimed. "Where's your vision?"

"I don't have one." Lloyd shrugged.

"That's not possible." Kai bent to collect the items the hilicurls left behind. Sharp arrows heads and broken masks were strewn across the singed grass. "Every human elemental user has a vision."

"Well, I don't." Lloyd turned away from them. "Where should we head from here?"

Jay perked up. "Oh! We should go ask my friend Cole to help!"

Kai scowled. "We're wasting time!"

"I promise we aren't!" Jay assured him. "Cole is really good. Plus, he's a geo. He can crystallize. It's very helpful in battle."

The boy glanced at Lloyd. "It creates an elemental shield."

"I know." Lloyd tried not to roll his eyes.

Kai chewed on his lip. He obviously wanted to find his sister. Lloyd could sympathize. But having another tool under their belt would be beneficial. "Will it take long?" Lloyd asked Jay.

Jay shook his head. "I know where to find him."

Lloyd glanced questioningly at Kai. "Fine." Kai muttered.

Lloyd looked back to Jay and smiled. "Let's go."

*****

It wasn't long before Zane joined in. The quiet young man had snuck up on them while they were trying to follow Garmadon's tracks. Lloyd was trying to use his elemental sight to tell where Nya went. The talent helped him track any trails elemental magic left. Cole, who was a strong but surprisingly jumpy boy, screamed when Zane suddenly appeared beside him. The ravenette swung his claymore with quick, panicked motions.

Zane easily dodged the blows, icy blue eyes perplexed as he hesitantly pulled out his bow. "I come in peace." The peculiar, pale, young man assured them.

Kai had his eyes narrowed. His blade lit up with flames as he pointed it at the stranger. "How do we know we can trust you?"

"I know what you are looking for." Zane blinked calmly back. "I can help."

Kai relaxed his stance. But only slightly. "Okay." Kai said warily. "What do you know?"

****

As much as Lloyd loved battles, there was something that put him more on edge about this one. Maybe it was the fact there were more lives at stake. Maybe it was because his father was involved. But no matter what it was he still couldn't let it affect if combat skills. Lloyd couldn't afford any slip ups. He was happy he could rely on a team now though. It was interesting to see how they fought.

Kai battled like he was on the last few seconds of his life. All power, no thought. Flames went flying, a dangerous glint flashed through his eyes as he pressed on, sword swinging.

Zane on the other hand was meticulous. He was a cryo, the cool and decisive nature of his moves contrasting nicely with Kai's aggressive strikes. Zane moved backwards slowly, his fingers swiftly nocking an arrow, the elemental energy building as he held it, before he let it fly. The aim was perfect of course.

Cole was steady, he feet always planted in a firm stance whenever he swung his giant weapon. The blade would whack through the enemies with ease before he used his elemental burst, lava arm, lit up his biceps with orange energy before he threw a string explosion of energy at them.

Jay's fighting style was best described as explosive. While Kai was more of a punch, Jay was like a dab. A pinch. He was quick and sporadic but left enough damage that he could go in later with something big!

Lloyd moved with purpose. His blade spun through attackers like they were butter. His eyes were set on Kai's sister, where she was trapped. Lloyd jiggled the lock when he got there, cursing when it didn't budge.

"Zane! Cole!" Lloyd yelled.

The blonde turned at his name and nodded once with understanding. Kai moved in front of Zane, converting him, as the blue-eyed young man shot an arrow. The cryo energy swirled around it before it hit the lock dead on. The mechanisms groaned as frost coated the metal and with a clang, Cole threw his enhanced fist at the lock, causing it to shatter.

"It's about time." Nya sighed with relief. "Thank you..." she hesitated as she looked over her rescuers. "Strange people I don't know?"

Her eyes brightened as her gaze set on her brother. "Kai!"

"Traveller," A raspy voice interrupted the reunion before it even started. Lloyd felt his lips twist in a snarl when he saw Morro step towards him. Green wind swirled around each of his large, purposeful steps. "Your father is very disappointed." Morro tsked.

"Lloyd, come on!" Jay called as they ignored the newcomer. Nya was hastily grabbing her polearm as Kai fussed over her.

Lloyd was frozen in the spot. The haunting eyes of his former cousin locking him in place. "Where is he." Lloyd finally said. He hated how small his voice sounded.

"What's going on?" Kai's attention switched to Lloyd as he watched Morro stall closer to The Traveller. "Hey! Don't move another muscle!" Fire flew towards the approaching figure, Morro easily sent a blast of wind to block it.

"Waiting for you." Morro tilted his head. "He says the Abyss Order will only hold back so long. It's time for you to choose your side."

Lloyd's companions had stopped. There was a mix of fear and confusion in their voices as they called for Lloyd. Paimon looked anxiously to her friend as Lloyd stared at Morro.

There was the sound of a bell. It startled all of them except for Morro, who simply angled his head to listen, a little smirk on his face. "You have three days." Morro told him. A purple swirl appeared behind him and he hopped back into it before disappearing. Something heavy weighed on Lloyd's heart, his skin prickling with unease as he turned, only to be stopped by two, furious, amber eyes.

"What," Kai said slowly. "Is he talking about?"

da end.

VERY BADLY EXPLAINED GENSHIN VOCAB

The Traveller (Aether or Lumine)

Main gal or dude of Genshin. A playable character featuring the protagonist of your choosing being launched into another words cause evil lady attacked the them.

Emergency food- uh- I mean- Paimon!

Floaty friend who speaks in third person, is motivated by food, and occasionally asks stupid questions. The Traveller found her when they were fishing.

Monstadt

First area you meet when you drop into a totally new world. Has food, shmancy knights, and cool characters.

Elements of Genshin

Pryo is fiyaahhhhhhh
Geo is earth.
Dendro is nature.
Anemo is wind.
Hyrdro is water!
Cryo is nice- I mean ice!
And Electro is electricity.

Visions

The people in Genshin Impact get their fancy powers when they're recognized by the gods. The gods give them this pendant thing called a vision that gives them their elemental magic.

The Adventurers Guild

They hire peoples to do stuff for people so they are adventurers. Also the lady who works there is Katherine and for some reason she can be in two places at once-

The Knights of Favonius

Knights that protect Monstadt and get a lot of shade from a character named Diluc.

The Abyss Order

Evil. Bad. Monsters. Rawr.

Springvale

Lil town. A quiet village. Every day like the one before.

Catalyst

Book go boom! A weapon in Genshin Impact. Usually a hook or circle artifact thing-a-majig.

Elemental Sight

You can track elemental traces and stuff. Like a Doggo but different

Claymore

I don't think it was mentioned but Cole uses a claymore. Which is just a big sword for hacking and whacking.

Elemental Burst

When you store up energy from killing stuff you can use a bigger move that creates more damage. Or if your character is a healer it heals everyone.

Polearm

Stabby weapon.

There probably a lot more to do but I can't really think of more so just ask in the comments I guess. 😂

NOTE******
I don't play any video games so I was surprised by how much I fell in love with Genshin. I can't play PC so it's quite hard to play on my phone but I still love it. I'm not sure if it was the beautiful fantasy world, elaborate story line, cool characters, or the awesome combat but it's all so creative and inspiring to me.

I'm still new to the game and I haven't been able to finish the quest that I think is called Yaksha's Wish so I can't do co-op. Very annoying.

I'm saving up my wishes so I can get a new character! I have quite a few so far. My main is currently Ningguang because she does the most damage out of all my characters at the moment and I haven't been able to ascend my Diluc past 40 because I need some stuff for that. My favourite character is definitely Klee. She is so adorable I want her so badly. I also would very much like a Thoma please and thank you.

My party switches around a lot but I usually use Ningguang, Noelle, Diluc, and Barbara. I love to run around as Diona though. 😂 She's so cute.

I'm sure most people are confused but if there are any fellow Genshin players out there I hope you enjoyed!
