chapter 9
A few months later
It was a few months passed after the hand-holding incidents between you and Adrien. You don't want to make an assumption, but you can't help but be suspicious of his actions, making you process a thought in your mind.
Does he have a... crush--
No! You slapped yourself in the face very hard. Good thing Alya was in the kitchen, probably preparing snacks. Don't even go there, Y/N L/N. He doesn't like you.
You sighed deeply before standing up and deciding to help your best friend. "Hey, Alya," you voiced out. "Need any help over there?"
"Nah, it's fine," she replied instantly. "Just pick the movie were gonna watch."
You headed towards the floor before the TV. It was filled with numerous DVDs and CDs. Your hands skimmed over the covers of each movies, mostly romance. You shook at your best friend's choice of genre. After a minute, you had no choice but to pick (decent romance movie). You really have no choice but to pick the most normal out of all the DVDs.
Finally, Alya entered the room with a tray full of plates and cups. You stood up and helped her carry it to the table. The blogger muttered her gratitude before taking her seat. You inserted the CD inside the player and pressed start.
"So, what did you pick?"
You shrugged. "(movie)." You took the bowl of popcorn from her and started munching.
All through the movie, you and your best friend made some comments about the clichès and plotholes of the film. You even nitpicked the male protagonist, saying that 'he wasn't hot enough to be in the movie'. Alya rolled her eyes at the comment, but laughed along with it.
The movie finished with a kiss, just as you had expected. The credits rolled up the screen. You sighed as you tried to fix your hair.
"Y/N~" Alya dragged your name, making your head turn to her. You raised an eyebrow. "What's upppp, girl? Tell me the juicy deets!"
You were confused. "About what?"
"About you and Adrien! Don't think I didn't see those sneaky winks and intertwining of hands!"
"Alya, please. It's not real! It's not like... we're dating-- we... we're just friends!"
"Doesn't look like it!" Your friend objected. "Y/N, he likes you!!"
"I don't know," you stared at the wall weirdly and shrugged. "Does he, though? How will I know?"
Alya smiled at your direction. "Ask him."
You immediately interjected her idea. "No, no, no! That's a bad idea." She shrugged nonchalantly. You sighed. "What ever it is you're thinking, you better stop it. I don't have a crush on him. I confirmed it myself. I. Don't. Have. A. Crush. On. Adrien. Agreste." You flailed your arms around Alya's face, pretending to fight her.
She chuckled. "Okay, okay. Calm down, Y/N. I'm not forcing you to marry him or something, sheesh."
You groaned, sitting up. "I'm going home." You stood up from your position and stretched a bit, your shirt slightly going up. You sighed in relief and fixed the cloth.
Alya giggled again. "Sure, girl. See ya tomorrow!"

The next days, you noticed that Adrien's sudden ministrations suddenly-- stopped. You didn't know why, but it's kinda weird not being greeted with a ruffle on the hair or shaking of the shoulders whenever you two meet.
You went up to your seat and greeted Alya that was early as usual. Nathaniel wasn't here yet, but he'll come soon after. Just as you sat down, she showed you videos about her Ladyblog. You took interest, because you have to admit, having a hero in Paris was unbelievably amazing.
Moments later, Adrien, Marinette, and Nathaniel came rushing through the door with their bags. Nathaniel sat down beside you, not without a greeting. You waved back, but eventually going back to listening to Alya's stories.
You kept on watching, until a noise interrupted you from nowhere. You averted your gaze from your best friend's phone to hear Adrien and Marinette laughing.
You arched your neck and tried to take a look at what they were laughing at. You saw his phone, and a video of a cat tumbling down the stairs was shown. It was looped, and it didn't make you laugh, even one smile.
You leaned towards Alya and whispered, "Why are they laughing? It's not really a hilarious video."
She turned her head towards you and smirked, raising a brow. "Why, jealous?"
Your nose scrunched in confusion, before rolling your eyes. "Alya, for the last time. I will never have a crush on him."
Alya laughed. "Okay, okay. I'll stop. Oh, you're so in-denial." You gave her a stern look, as your best friend tried to resist her giggles coming out of her mouth. "Hmhmhmhm, I'm sorry!" She laughed again.
"It's not really funny," you said, diving your head on the table with your arms hanging out on the edge, your eyes trailing off to where Marinette, Adrien and Alix sat.
The next classes, Marinette was almost sent to the principal. Why? Because she and Adrien laughed uncontrollably again, gaining the attention of everyone. They didn't regret it though, they still laughed over some joke Adrien had said.
"I bet it was his lame cat puns," you whispered over to Alya, which she smiled at.
The two of you looked at Adrien whol leaned at Marinette, probably telling her another cat joke. After a minute, Marinette covered her mouth from squealing. You rolled your eyes and tried your best not to kill them with your glare. Nathaniel tapped your shoulder. "Hey,' he said, pointing his pencil at the board. "What's that say?"
"Oh it's this and that," you told him. He basically repeated everything before going back to his writing. While writing what Ms. Bustier wrote, you heard laughing from in front of you. You rose your head a bit and silently peeked at the blue-haired girl, laughing her ass off, as the blond smirked at her reaction. You sneered, pressing your fingers on the pen until it bends. You shushed the noise, really loudly. Luckily, they both notice, but it only went quiet for a minute before they started whispering to each other again.
You got too distracted in watching them so much that the teacher already dismissed the class. Alya had to snap you out of your mean, mean thoughts.
Alix stood up, picking up her gum wrapper and throwing it at Adrien and Marinette's direction. "You two should get a room,"
They blushed at the same time, as they scooted far from each other. You rolled your eyes.

You went to your usual table and met everyone there, except for Marinette. You sat your tray down and everyone started to eat.
"Yo, where's Marinette?" Nino asked.
Adrien shrugged. "She's with Rose and Juleka. They're eating lunch together from now on."
"Aw, that's a bummer." He pouted.
"It's okay, Nino," You tried to comfort him, though you don't know the first thing in comforting a friend, you really wanted to help him. "We still have each other, and that's important."
Everyone agreed. You smiled up at him, which he smiled back.
Alya smashed her fists into the table. "Guys!" All of you looked at her with much anticipation. "Guess who's birthday's next Mondaaayyy!" Her thumbs pointed at herself. "So y'all better have a surprise party for me or I won't be talking to you forever!"
You rolled your eyes. "Don't worry, Alya. We're not going to surprise you." You quickly winked at both Adrien and Nino, who once nodded.
Alya shrugged. "Fine. My birthday's not that special. I don't really care or whatever..." she trailed off, making you smile.
