Chapter 16.
The man with the evil eye.

Cu Culainn/ Tanta went with it until he suddenly remembered.

"Wait there's still time."

He said after pulling her off him and taking a breath.

He grabbed Emer by the hand and quickly led her inside then up the stairs.

Jack looked disappointed as he watched the missiles getting closer.

But gave his friend a sly wink anyway.

"Come on Jack your coming with us."

Cu Culainn said and felt his arm been pulled off him as Emer stopped dead on the stairs.

"WHAT!!" She screamed.

"Don't care if it's the end of the world but there's no way I'm going upstairs with you and JACK!"

"Ah, Miss C'mon sure I've even got champagne, like."

Smiled Jack holding the bottle up.

"By the Gods! if you two want to survive follow me NOW."

Shouted Cu Culainn heading up the stairs.

Emer gave Jack dagger looks that wiped his cheeky grin from his face.

He decided best to wait until the love birds were a few steps ahead before following them up.

He was surprised they were heading into the attic.

"Tell you boy, if you built a bomb shelter, you must off read your instructions upside down, like. There meant to be in the basement."

Jack said as he climbed into the attic after them.

He found his two companions stopped frozen blocking him from going any further into the attic.

He soon knew why.

There by a giant mirror stood a strangely sinister man with red hair holding a girl, Abbie from next door, by her throat and pointing a pistol at his friends Tanta's head.

The sinister man looked like someone out of Sherlock homes.

His eyes unnerved Jack.

One was dark blue but the other was bright green.

Jack looked down and saw Bran lying dead at this sinister's mans feet.

The fear he felt he could not feel coming from Tanta.

But he could feel his friends hate.

Sinister man cocked the giant old fashioned pistol.

He only had eyes for Tanta.

It was as if He and Miss Hathaway meant nothing to him.

That scared Jack the most.

"Let her go Catbad."

Tanta ordered as if the gun aimed at his head wasn't there.

"My monster you should have killed this little witch ages ago. Now by defying destiny. Changing your past. She has ended this world."

"I won't say it again."

Tanta threatened.

Sinister man just smiled.

"Don't worry my monster I won't harm a hair on her cute head. You see. She is special. She has changed everything. God loves her and I want to find out why?"

The man pulled back towards the big mirror.

"Times almost up my Monster. Have to finish this another time!"

"Count on it." Tanta promised.

Sinister man jumped into the mirror pulling Abbie with him.

They just disappeared

Vanished.

Jack was stunned.

But not for long.

Emer screamed pointing to a missile which seemed to be falling straight towards the attic window.

Tanta moved fast he picked Bran off the ground and flew the dead dog into the mirror.

It vanished like sinister man.

He picked up Miss Hathaway and did the same.

Her screams of horror vanished with her.

Jack knew what was coming.

"Ah now so, if it's alright with you boy, can we jump together, like?"

He asked his Pal.

"Sure boy that's grand." Agreed Tanta smiling.

They stood by the mirror side by side.

"We go on three."

Tanta calmly said holding up three fingers.

Jack gave a nervous nod.

"One.."

"THREE!"

Tanta roared and flung his friend into the mirror.

"FU----" Jack disappeared.

Tanta watched the missile which seemed to speed as it got close to the window.

"I just wanted to be a vet."

Cu Culainn said and as he stepped towards the mirror the room exploded into a million pieces.
