Rebecca pov...a few years later

I'm standing on top of Titans tower looking at the sunset. It's so beautiful, but I can't believe that I messes up. My dad gave me one job... To follow after them...I couldn't even do that and almost got killed in the process.

"This reminds you of someone Dick?" I heard my mother say as I didn't turn around.

"Yeah it does" I heard my uncle say as they both walked beside me looking at the sunset as well.

"Looks pretty huh?" My uncle said as I smiled but then got sad again

"..I guess" I sighed as they both looked at me

"What's wrong?"

"Mom I messed up. I almost died.. I'm always failing at missions that we go one. I just want to be better but I can't" I said downgrading myself.

"Rebecca, I understand stand you want to be perfect but there is no such thing as perfect. " my uncle stated

"Perfect is doing something right. Sweetheart since you started to train with us you have been saying I want to be perfect. Being a hero doesn't mean perfection, or having powers. If their was a thing as a perfect hero then the titans would not have been here....you see what's in me and your uncles hand?" My mom carried on to what uncle Richard said as I looked in their hand as they had a rock in their hand

"A rock? But how does this go with that you were-"

"This is a symbol of what you are doing to yourself"

"Becca your Green X right? Green X doesn't downgrade herself"

"Green X doesn't but Rebecca V. does"

"Rebecca if you downgrade your self it affects your ability to fight crime" my mom said crushing the rock as it held a diamond inside. I couldn't believe it. The diamond was so pretty and the light from it nearly blinded me.

"Hey mom I have a question?"

"Which is... "

"When I was little and you told me stories, you said uncle Richard was taken in by the richest man of Gotham. How come you didn't go?"

"Because she was going with someone else.. "

"Dick what do mean?"

"After the funeral about a day later I was with Bruce. The woman who worked at the orphanage told me that you got adopted and you left. "

"I didn't leave... That's how I meet Tony there. You know you could have told him about me"

"I thought you left, and I got depressed about that wondering if I'll see you"

"Well you have now.."

"They keep me...because i could make them rich when i get around 16 or 17 but i didn't"

"You ran away right?" I asked my mom as she nodded

"Yeah, Thad also the day I ran into slade and my mine was twisted"

"From the woman at the orphanage said that the person that wanted you only wanted you and no one else, my emotions became numb and I became cold hearted trying to lash out because I felt as if I wasn't special" my mom said taking off her mask

Morgan pov
"You are special." My brother said as I smiled giving them both a big hug

"And Becca, be ready at 5:00 am. Ima get your confidence back up"

.................okay so I'm stopping the book here basically this is where the book was going to end anyway. So I'm on to the next book.
