The days had passed slowly at the Compound, as If they were taunting Tony. Laughing In his face that he had done wrong, that he was struggling to teach Peter how to be a wolf. Hell, was he even a good mentor to the kid? Those thoughts were quickly shaken away as Tony was poked In the side of the face, an attempt to bring him back to the present from his mind. Golden amber eyes would land on Peter's bright, curious face. "Mr. Stark?" The teen Inquired, tilting his head. "What'd you say again, kid?" Tony would question In return, trying to remember what they were talking about. Looking around, they were situated outside of the compound In the lower field at the back. Closest to the forest line. "You were gonna help me gain control of shifting." Peter reminded the genius. Nodding In remembrance, said genius turned his attention back onto the teenager In front of him. "Right. Let's get to It then, shall we?" He flashed a smile. Standing up, Tony would stretch his arms above his head. Peter was quick to join him In standing up, clearly eager to learn about this new transformation.

Tony, fiddling with his fingers behind his back to help him calm down and focus, looked Peter In the eye and flashed a small smirk. "Shifting sometimes comes at random, when you're overwhelmed by strong emotions. Say, you're suddenly frightened or angered." The genius rambled on, taking a hand from behind his back occasionally to move his hand around as he spoke. Peter nodded, Intensely watching his mentor. "So, just like the other day?" The teen questioned. Tony winced before swallowing. He nodded and continued on with the lesson, trying to Ignore the stinging of that memory. He would rub his arm as If the pain of the wounds still existed despite long gone now. "Shifting your first time Is excruciatingly painful, the next couple shifts after that still hurt but that begins to lessen as your body Is adapting to your new ability." "Like when I got bit by that spider!" Peter chirped before Tony could continue. "Yes, like when you got bit by the spider." He confirmed, a small smile pulling at his lips at Peter's excitement. The kid was always eager to learn new things, sure his excitement was draining time to time, but It made Tony's day to see that kind of excitement and Innocence. "It will take time to adjust to everything, as you have experienced once before." The engineer took some time and rambled on a bit more about things Peter needed to know before he attempted to shift back to a wolf.

"Now, the real fun." Tony finally said, which got the teenager's attention. A curious, joyful, shimmer In his eyes appearing. "Oh! Just a warning, when shifting back you will be naked." The word made a slight pink rise to Peter's cheeks, which In turn Tony bit his tongue to not snort at It. "Exactly the reason I told you to wear clothes you didn't care about before you came out here, and to bring an extra set to change Into." The teen glanced to his side where the folded set lay on the grass. "We, the pack, like to hide out clothes at the bases of trees, or under roots, or even In a bush before we change. That way no one will stumble upon It." Grabbing the hem of his shirt, Tony pulled It over his head. The brunet folded It In his arms, motioned for Peter to pick up his clothes, turned on his heel and headed for the closest tree. Peter was quick to follow his mentor. Crouching down beside the roots of a tree with long grass poking through, Tony pointed to spots that were best for hiding their clothes In. Demonstrating, the genius placed the folded up shirt underneath the roots of the tree. Following his Instructions, Peter took his extra set of clothing and hid them under the roots close to Tony's shirt. "I care about the jeans I'm wearing, I am not letting them get ripped." Tony muttered, slipping them off to leave him In his boxers. Folding the jeans, he'd drop them onto his shirt. Peter averted his eyes out of respect, looking at anything but the male In front of him.

Clapping the kid on the back, Tony guided him back to the open field. Not far from the tree. "Now, as I promised, the real fun." He flashed a grin, golden amber eyes lighting up for the first time In days. Peter glanced up to his mentor and smiled wide. Removing his hand from the kid's back, Tony backed up a few paces while still facing him. "Shifting Is actually really simple, although It seems complex." He began, moving his hands about as he normally did when speaking. "Close your eyes," When Peter did, Tony would continue while circling him. "Block everything around you out, as hard as that may seem. Focus on your body, your limbs, your fingers and toes, your muscles, your bones. Now, take your body and Imagine It as your wolf. Let nature take over." It did not take long for Peter's body to slowly snap and pop In and out of place. "Do not fight the transformation, It only harms your body and makes things worse." The brunet teenager's body shrunk, his features began to change and his skin grew fur. When the transformation was done, a yearling wolf stood In front of him. Light red, black, tan, and fawn fur covering his four legged body. Light amber eyes staring up at Tony before a tip of excitement, glee, and happiness came from the small wolf. The yearling not seeming to care that his clothes did rip, as Tony did warn him. Chuckling, said genius would allow himself to easily shift from human to wolf. The dark brown, almost black, wolf grinned. Golden amber eyes meeting light amber. "Welcome to the view level of a wolf, kid. How does It feel?" Tony questioned. Peter moved his paws, cautious, looking like a toddler learning how to walk for the first time. "Weird, but It's a cool kind of weird!" He answered, looking from his paws up to Tony. Tony smiled. "Good to hear, now come on. One paw after the other, trust yourself." Peter nodded, looking back to his paws. Slowly lifting one and placing It ahead of him, taking his right hind leg and moving It as well. He was wobbly, that's for sure. Tony turned his body so his side was facing Peter, he began to walk around. Demonstrating how It looked and which paws moved together. Peter tilted his head as he watched. After watching for a short while, he attempted to copy his mentor and try walking forwards again. Still finding himself wobbly, but that quickly began to drown out as he got his footing slowly but surely. Making his way towards Tony, but Tony would back up every time. Encouraging the teen to try to get him. Peter, seeming to get fed up, crouched down and leapt at his mentor. Tony barely managed to dodge him, surprised at the sudden charge. Peter landed on the other side of the genius, summersaulting until he stopped on his belly, limbs spread out. Laughter broke out from Tony, who was soon joined by Peter. "Good try, kid. Maybe you'll get me next time." Jokingly taunted the engineer. "Oh, I will Mr. Stark! Don't you worry about that!" Peter growled out, a playful glint to his lighter eyes. The teen jumped to his paws, taking a few seconds to steady himself before jumping at the older wolf again. Tony, watching him carefully this time jumped to his paws and dodged again. "What was that about catching me?" He'd taunt, continuing to dodge the kid. Backing up, jumping out of reach, or even running away from Peter. It eventually resulted In Tony running away from Peter as the kid chased after him, sometimes stumbling on clumsy paws but he was keeping up pretty well. Well enough to the point that Tony was turning sharply and nearly falling on his snout because the kid was keeping him on his toes.

Tony ran around the field, kicking up dirt and grass on his turns, attempting to run away from his apprentice. Glancing behind him constantly to ensure the kid wasn't going to get him. The genius laughed as Peter kept trying to grab him by his tail and yank him backwards, sticking his tongue out at the yearling wolf. Peter would jump to the right side of Tony, making Tony turn to the left. What Tony didn't know was that there was a tree there and he wasn't looking where he was going. Turning his head quickly, Tony smacked Into the tree, falling back onto his butt then flopping onto his back. Blinking In surprise. Peter leapt at Tony with an exclaimed "RAAA!", sending the two wolves rolling through the grass of the lower field. Tony landed on his side, Peter spread out over his side. The two were breathing heavily but laughing at the same time. Clearly having enjoyed themselves. "Well kid, sometimes you got to run before you walk and you definitely did that." Tony remarked, grinning up to the yearling. It took a few moments to register In Peter's mind, before his face lit up and he jumped to his paws. "Mr. Stark! Mr. Stark! I did It! I was walking- and running- and jumping and and so many other things!" He sputtered out In delight, jumping out like a kid In a candy store. Tony watched him from where he lay on the grass, grinning. One of the first real smiles he had given In days. A true smile. "You did It, Pete. Good job." He praised, watching Peter's smile turn Into a beaming one at the praise from the person he looked up to. Peter jumped onto Tony, giving the male a hug. Well, the best hug he could as a wolf. Which Tony returned.

"Well would you take a look at you two." Came a familiar voice, making both wolves look up. Walking down the hill, with a slight limp and a bandaged arm, was Natasha. Her red hair down around her shoulders, emerald green eyes shining In the early afternoon sunlight. A black tank top around her torso and black leggings that hugged her frame. To say Tony's breath was taken away was an understatement. "And Tony Stark out during the daylight? That's a rare sight to see." She joked, making her way towards them. As she neared them, two red ears would perk from the top of her head so she could hear and understand them. "Take In It, baby, because It's not gonna last long." Tony returned as a remark, rolling onto his paws and standing up once Peter got off of him. Natasha gave a smile, shaking her head. "Oh I take In It alright." She snickered, winking. "So, I see you were successful In helping Peter learn to shift and move around." Tony nodded, glancing to the teen next to him. "Yeah! I even ran around!" Peter brought up. "That's great, Pete." Natasha smiled. "So why'd you come down? Other than to see me of course." Tony questioned, flicking his tail behind his hindquarters. "No, I came to see Peter. He Is cuter after all." Natasha smirked, watching Tony's face twist In offence. "Rude." Tony huffed. "But seriously, Steve wants you for hunting. Said something about me being benched due to... this." She motioned to her arm, then her leg. "The leg was from a sparring match with Bucky." Tony forced himself to swallow a snarl at the mention of Bucky hurting one of his mates. As well as swallowing a wince at the mention of her Injury due to his mistake. Natasha seemed to brush off his near wince, yet her eyes narrowed the slightest. "Now, get going. I'll help Peter learn to shift back." Tony nodded, turning to retrieve his clothes.

"Now, let's get you shifted back. Where'd you leave your clothes?" Natasha asked, turning to Peter. "Wait! You can understand me?!" Peter questioned, suddenly extremely excited. "Yes, with these babies." Natasha pointed to her ears. "That's so cool!" That was the last thing Tony heard after he shifted and changed, making his way to the main building. Swallowing anxiety. Hopefully this time he wouldn't get someone Injured.. hopefully.
