Chapter 15
"So, Laurel decided not to come after all?" Thea asked Oliver when he arrived at the address she'd given him in Ivy Town.
"No, Sara's in town." Oliver said.
"Yeah, that's more important. I hope Quentin understands why you're skipping out on that family dinner." Thea said.
"He doesn't know yet. Laurel wants to surprise him and she'll tell him a version of the truth. That I'm here helping you out with something and that I didn't want to interrupt family time." Oliver said.
"Yeah, I wonder what excuse Sara will give her dad about her job, since she can't exactly tell him the truth, since we agreed to leave Quentin in the dark." Thea said and Oliver nodded.
"Speaking of dark, according to Sara, Nora Darhk is somewhere in Star City with Ray and I'm hoping that she can tell me where her bastard father is so I can kill him." Oliver said.
"Who are you talking about killing?" John Constantine asked as he entered the building.
"Someone I think you're familiar with. Damien Darhk." Oliver said.
"Do I even want to know why you're suicidal enough to want to try to kill that bastard?" John asked.
"Probably not. But that's not why I asked you here John." Oliver said.
"Right. You mentioned a friend of yours under league of assassins style mind control. Where is he?" Constantine asked and Thea grinned.
"Allow me to show you." Thea said as she walked over to a wall panel and slid it out of the way to reveal a hand scanner.
"Ryan hooked us up." Thea said as she placed her hand on the scanner, which glowed green.
"Identity confirmed. Thea Queen." an AI's voice said as the whole wall slid away to reveal a secret passage.
"Why do you have the entrance to your base located in a random building?" Oliver asked.
"Who said this was the only entrance. And this building is the future sight of Queen Consolidated's Ivy Town location. Now come on." Thea said as she led them into the tunnels.
"What is this place?" Constantine asked as they walked, lights coming on as they did.
"We call it the Labyrinth. It's a pretty fitting name since the tunnel network we're in runs underneath the whole city." Thea said.
"I take it you're a bit of Greek history buff then?" John said.
"You could say that." Thea said with a chuckle, considering the fact that she was technically a goddess.
"Man, I'm honestly surprised Star City doesn't have a tunnel network like this, considering all the other crazy things it has." Oliver said, thinking of the nexus chamber under City Hall as they entered what had to be Thea's team's meeting room, where Roy, Nyssa and Ryan were waiting.
"Oliver." Roy said with a grin as he hugged him.
"Hey Roy, I trust you're taking good care of my little sister?" Oliver asked.
"Of course." Roy said.
"Please, more like I'm taking care of him." Thea said with a chuckle.
"Nyssa." Oliver said.
"Oliver." Nyssa said with a respectful nod.
"You didn't tell me you were palling around with Ra's al Ghul's daughter." John said.
"I assure you Mr. Constantine, the only thing I want for my father now is for him to die. A feeling I've confirmed with my sister Talia, who was one of Oliver's teachers, also shares." Nyssa said.
"That's another reason I'm here. I believe that one of the reasons Talia trained me was so that I could overthrow her father." Oliver said and Nyssa said.
"She confirmed as much when I spoke to her. I can only hope that she taught you enough." Nyssa said, though, that it was just an act for John's sake, since she knew that Oliver was more than skilled enough to kill her father.
"Good to know. But anyways, perhaps we should get to the matter at hand." John said, though he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something off about Thea. She was giving off an odd aura.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Thea asked him, noticing him eying her cautiously.
"Because it's clear that there's something you're keeping from us sweetheart. The aura you're giving off, that's something far more powerful than any human or magician could give off. So, mind sharing with the rest of the class?" Constantine asked, causing Oliver to look at his sister.
"Thea?" Oliver asked her.
"I was going to tell you Ollie after I'd had a chance to fully understand it myself, but a few nights ago, the same night we captured Tommy in fact, I had some kind of vision where I saw the actual goddess Artemis." Thea said.
"Impossible. Based on what I know, while the Olympians were real, they died out centuries ago." John said.
"Most of them did, but Artemis was able to hang on longer than most due to the fact that people believe in her, or rather, the moon. But she could only hang on for so long." Thea said and Constantine put the pieces together.
"And she made you her vessel." Constantine said.
"I'm sorry, vessel?" Oliver asked as Nyssa and Ryan looked at Thea in concern too.
"I'm still me, but before she could fully fade, Artemis told me that she needed to transfer her remaining power to an earthly vessel otherwise, well, let's just say bad things happen." Thea said.
"What kind of bad things?" Ryan asked.
"Let me guess. Since Artemis was a moon goddess, since her power dissipates completely, it could have consequences on the moon." John said.
"Pretty much. I don't really have a lot of mastery over my power yet, but I'm trying to learn." Thea said.
"Her Artemis skills are how she was able to beat Tommy." Roy said.
"That, but I also know that our Tommy is still in there somewhere, since I got him to stand down by telling him that he's my brother." Thea said.
"John, can you help him?" Oliver asked and John nodded.
"Take me to him." John said.
"We're holding him in a detention area, which we've started calling Tartarus. Even before she became a goddess, your sister had a real flare for Greek mythology." Nyssa said with a grin.
"Well it is appropriate since it's the deepest, darkest part of the tunnels." Thea said.
"Enough. Let's go see what Merlyn did to him." Oliver said and Thea nodded as she led them towards Tommy's holding cell.
"Well, well, this is a surprise." Tommy said when Thea returned to his prison with Oliver in tow.
"Tommy. What has your father done to you?" Oliver asked as he looked at his best friend.
"He opened my eyes to the truth. The Tommy Merlyn you knew was weak. My father made me stronger than you could ever imagine." Tommy said.
"John, can you fix him?" Oliver asked.
"I can try. But it would require you letting him out of his cage so we can touch him and I don't foresee that being a good idea for our safety." John said.
"I'll handle that." Oliver said.
"You sure. It was hard enough for me to fight Tommy, do you think you can handle it?" Thea asked.
"Believe it or not, wouldn't be the first time I've had to beat up my best friend." Oliver said, thinking back to when he'd had to fight the Earth Two version of Tommy.
"Okay then, let's do this." Thea said as she moved to open the cell.
