"Two times - so what?"
"You never told me the reason why you broke up with me", Riven mumbles but he doesn't seem to be angry. He feels calm. "I was thinking about someone", I admit, "It felt wrong. I felt like I shouldn't be with you."
"Did you see him? Did you think about him often?", Riven asks interestedly. "I haven't seen him while we were dating. A few times, probably about two times." "Two times a day?" "Two times while we were dating."
"God, Scar, I could kill you right now", Riven hisses and stands up, "That's completely normal! Did you think that I was ignoring the hot girls around me? Of course I looked at some girls and of course I didn't go home with them but thinking of someone two times or taking a look at someone is fine."
"I felt so bad", I mumble. "You could have talked to me and we would have found a way to make it work, Scar", Riven accuses me, "I wanted this to work out so bad. I still want this to work out but you.. you're trying to be independent so hard."
"I don't want to end up like mom who doesn't know her own children." "I know that your parents made mistakes, S, but you're not Olivia and I'm not Andreas." "But you're doing what he says", I complain, "He wanted Saul's house to burn down so you helped him." "Shit", Riven curses quietly and rubs his temples, "You saw us?"
"I've been there", I nod, "I'm not blaming you. It's just always been complicated between us. I'm so thankful that you've helped me finding mom and I'm thankful for how you've protected me from Beatrix yesterday, but you also confuse me. I wanted to take time to think about everything but we're right in the next disaster here at Alfea."
"You're right", Riven nods, "I've chosen the wrong moment. Can we talk about it after this disaster is over?" "Of course. Riv, it's important to me to be clear about my emotions", I make clear whispering and take his hand.
"I know. The sun's already rising. Let's head back to my room and rest for a bit, alright?", Riven suggests and grins at me, "And please don't stop flirting with me until we talk about us." "I won't", I laugh and take his hand as we go back to the specialists' house.
"It's only been a few months but you already sound like him, Sky", I hear Saul say as we open the door. There he is. Saul's at Alfea. "How could you sneak in?", Sky asks what Riven and I are asking ourselves as well.
"And why are you holding the sword that you gave to Sky?", I add looking at Sky seriously, "He's given it to you." "What are you two doing here together?", Saul ignores our conversation and the situation that we're in and points at Riven and I.
"We're just spending time together. Can we concentrate on what's important?" "You're right. We'll talk about this later. But we have to have a conversation as well." Saul turns to Sky and Riven and I sit down on his bed.
"No, we don't. They're going to find you. You can't sneak in here after everything's that Bloom and Scar have done for you." "I've realized that it's just a matter of time until they find me. What do you expect from me? I would never leave for exile without having talked to you. I wanted to apologize to you."
"Okay, I've heard it. You can leave now", Sky replies emotionlessly so I stand up. "Sky, it's Saul. He's our real dad. Rethink your words", I warn him seriously. "What do I need to do to make up for it?"
"Leave. Leave Alfea, Blackbridge, far away from here. Go away and never come back." Sky goes into the bathroom so I turn to Saul now. "He'll calm down", I promise him and we say goodbye once more. We don't know how much time we have so it's better to be quick.
"Come here", Riven whispers after Saul's left and drags me down onto the bed with him into his arms, "He'll calm down soon. Let's sleep for now." "Hmm", I mumble tired and cuddle my head into his chest.
Just a few hours later, the specialists are supposed to prepare the upcoming meeting for the former students. "No reward for being quick", Andreas comments the way we're working. "I can leave earlier. That's a reward."
"I assume that you've found out from Riven what happened to Saul's house", Andreas speaks up and I feel my veins throbbing already. He's the last person that's allowed to talk about Saul. "You mean Scar's and my house?", Sky shrugs, "I've heard of it."
"This night is going to be long and exhausting. Arrogant former students who have no idea what hard work is", Andreas says surprisingly softly and takes a bottle of champagne giving it to us, "This usually helps me dealing with the situation. You three take today off. Your mood is hardly bearable."
Andreas looks away from us as mom enters the room and approaches us. "Rosalind wants to talk to you", she tells me and I nod. I'm so happy to have mom back that I would do anything she says.
"We'll be done in two hours", Andreas says to mom and the way he looks at her is so different from what I know of him, "I'll come back to the apartment. We'll have enough time to get ready." Mom nods and smiles at him. Her smile seems real.
"You wanted to talk to me", I say to Rosalind when I enter her office. "Yes. I've heard about your little.. let's say discussion with Beatrix. Andreas called it a dangerous situation." "It wasn't a safe moment", I agree.
"Why haven't you defended yourself?" "Because defending myself would mean attacking her. I'm not going to hurt someone willingly." "You're a powerful fairy, Scar. If you don't learn to defend yourself with everything that you've got, you and your loved ones are going to be hurt."
"I guess you're right", I admit because I really think that it makes sense what she says now, "But it's not that easy." "That's fine. We all have to learn our lessons. I offer you to help you in this case. You're serious completition for determined fairies like Beatrix. Let me tell you how to keep your family safe."
"I'll think about it", I nod slowly. This time, it sounds like Rosalind could help me so I would think about it at least. "Good. Now get ready. You and your family are going to join the meeting tonight."
