Separation: Part 2
"NO! NO! LEO! MIKEY! D-Donnie!" Raphael screams and shouts, falling to his knees as he cries, ugly, loud sobs escaping his throat. "No.. my brothers..."
The alien pirates glance among themselves as Raphael sobs, remaining silent as they watch. The pirates keeping the two of you restrained watch your every move carefully, and glance at the Captain often for any other orders.
Your eyes brim with tears, staring at the ship as it crashes down to the nearby icy planet, struck silent with shock and woe. You barely have time to process Medusa's next words before you are forced to move.
"Take them down to the dungeons. We will decide their futures in a game of Fates." Captain Medusa smirks, one thumb hooked on her belt and the other resting on the silver handle of her sword, unaffected by Raphael's cries and your stunned, traumatized expression.
Stumbling forward suddenly, you take a deep breath as you mindlessly walk behind Raphael and the pirate holding him restrained, down into the depths of Medusa's ship. Raphael's sobbing has died down as they imprison you in neighboring jail-cells, and now he stares at the wall past his prisons bars. You stand in the middle of your newest prison, observing him: his electric green eyes threatening to spill over with fresh tears, face riddled with shock, devastation, and anger. Indescribable anger, burning brighter than one thousand suns combined. The kind of anger that both frightens and excites you, and in the end, can deeply hurt you.
"Please... please wake up... c'mon Raph.." he mutters, knuckles turning white as he grips the bars of his pen, his stare turning into an intense glare.
"I am... I am so, so sorry, Raphael.." you utter softly, unable to raise your voice any higher for him to hear. "I... I didn't mean for this... for any innocents to be hurt."
"Shut up!" He snaps suddenly, startling you slightly as he glares at you through his tears. "You knew that something could happen, so don't feed me lies to comfort me!" He sniffles and slumps against the wall, sliding down to the ground and breathing deeply. "My family... is either dead, or so badly injured that they soon will be dead." He stares at the floor, listening to the ship creak and groan as it sails through the infinite seas of space. The news is so frightening, to be the last survivor of your family, that he can barely comprehend it... and as he does, he feels like his whole reality is burning to the ground.
"I know..." you breathe, knowing there is truth in his words as you sit by him. "And I cannot even begin to fathom what you are experiencing... but I truly am sorry."
He glances at you, observing you to see if you are sincere. You stare at him with sympathy as you lock eyes with him. Both pairs of eyes hold great amounts of grief and suffering. Worlds lost.. families lost.. or about to be lost.
"What do we do now?" He croaks out, wiping his face with his hand and sniffling. "And what is Captain 'Medusa' gonna do to us?" He stares at you with a pained expression as he asks these questions, looking so sad and hopeless. You can tell he will feel that pain in his heart for a long while, that his look will remain unchanged; it will be a deep, ugly scar on his heart and soul, if his family is truly gone.
"We will see... I will try to negotiate our freedom, perhaps a trade of some sort... but I fear Tyra will wish to keep you. She seems to like you.. and not in the good ways..." you sigh wearily and rub your drained eyes, leaning back on the wall of strikë planks that this magnificent vessel is built of.
Raphael's eyes linger on you for a while longer, observing your take on the Captain's fancy of him.
"Do you think she'll let us both go?"
"I am hopeful... although it might take much more bargaining to free you..." you sigh and let your head lie back.
His eyes tear away from you and stare at the floor, and he copies your positioning, sighing deeply as his thoughts wander to his family..
~ On the Moons of Thalos, amidst the debris of the Fugitoid's ship ~
As the icy wind blows through the wreckage of the Fugitoid's ship, Donatello slowly sits up with a groan. Trying to rub his head, he discovers his space helmet is in the way. He grows more alert at this and looks around, his eyes widening slightly as he recalls the events that took place moments ago.. or was it hours? He has no idea how long he passed out.
"MIKEY! LEO!! APRIL, CASEY!!" He shouts, trying to stand and falling over due to his bruised, either broken or dislocated ankle. He finds his staff nearby and grabs it, using it as a walking stick. "PROFESSOR!! RA—R-Raph.." his voice fades and he looks around, feeling hopeless and terribly alone. "Raph.. and Y/n... they're gone... are they all gone?" He clutches his staff at this thought, shivering as he hobbles through the snow. A familiar groan causes him to turn to the right, and there he sees Michelangelo sit up.
"Ooowww... my head.." he whines, blinking as he looks around his white surroundings in a daze.
"Mikey!" Donnie quickly hobbles over and hugs his little brother with all his strength, so relieved that he is alright.
"Donnie... where are we, bro?" Mikey asks, gladly returning the hug with one arm. "Geez... it's freezing out here!" He shivers and looks around, his eyes squinting from all the whiteness.
"I know, little brother..." Donnie shivers as well. "Can you stand?" He asks him.
He nods and stands up, clutching his badly bruised arm with a small whine of pain.
"I-I think my arm is broken.." he sniffles as his nose runs, unable to wipe it with his helmet in the way. He huddles close to his taller brother as the icy winds blows through and chills him to the bone.
"I'll fix it once we find the others and get to the medical bay at the ship." Donnie wraps his free arm around his youngest brothers shoulders, keeping him close, warm and protected as they walk through the small bits and chunks of the ship.
"Do'ya think Raph is ok?" Mikey asks in a small, concerned voice, trembling as the cold wind rages and gusts around them, making him walk even closer to his brother.
"I'm sure he and Y/n are figuring out a way to escape and find us right at this moment." Donnie replies, scanning the area around him. "Do you see the Professor anywhere?" He asks with a slight frown.
"No... with all this white, I'll bet he's perfectly camouflaged!" Michelangelo giggles slightly, lightening the mood a bit. Donatello smiles slightly, his eyes widening when he spots April's yellow spacesuit.
"April!" The two brothers shout, rushing over and lifting her up out of the snow. "She's out cold.." Donnie bites his lip in worry and checks her for broken bones. Mikey rubs her arms to help warm her up, watching her face for any change, any signs of awakening.
They continue to try and rouse the redhead, until a hand grabs Donnie's shoulder, and he screams in fright.
(I know, I know, I'm horrible for keeping you guys on these cliffhangers, bUT IT'S SO MUCH FUN!!)
