Pilot Chapter Part I
Pilot Chapter Part I: A Successful Mission
The dark night made itself shine brighter even when the moon wasn't there, the fluffy and darker clouds climbing up above some of the beautiful surrounds. Four men carrying with a deadly experiment and I was the infiltrated one in a black locked car. I had a bigger risk of failing this mission but I couldn't since it was the little town of Zerhaliha, a corrupted town from left to right which I worked against it to bring back the peace and harmony.
-When will be arriving, boss?- A man from my left asked, looking just like a secret agent, with black clothing.
-We will in some minutes. You have the bottles?- the big man asked, looking slightly fat but never stopping being intimidating.
The man with a lab suit nodded, giving his bag a little pat as the boss nodded, in satisfaction.
-What about you, lady? Will you prepare the formula with him?- He directly looked at me with such cold eyes, very eager to know a clear and direct answer and I reacted quickly, giving him what he wanted...
-Yes, sir. Prepared to do anything to confirm my loyalty to you.- I talked without hesitation in my voice and clearly, he believed me. Or that's what I believe so...
I adjusted my lab suit and looked at everyone in the car while the other scientist took out another bag, opening it and taking out a little bottle that had no specifications while he was laughing silently.
-This is the plan B if the A doesn't work. We'll get our boss out and then we will leave the town burn to ashes with deadly chemicals.- As the scientist spoke, there was clearly a hint of a obscure smile upon his face as he looked again at the boss, which agreed and laughed in his seat, very pleased.
-Very well, Jaydel. You will make sure this young lady helps and you will inform me if she is ignorant of a single step in the creation of this chemical. If she is, heads will roll downtown.- He spoke coldly, looking at my way as he suddenly let out a devilish laugh.
-I am being humorous, you clearly are capable of doing greater things. But don't fail me, you heard? Me and my men will find out if things aren't going at the way we want.- He leaned slightly forward towards me and my body felt tense quickly, pressure accumulating inside me as he, again, gave me that devil and cold look. The look of an insane human being...
-Yes, sir.- I decided to keep my mouth shut and nod, aghast of the minimum movement or mistaken answer enough to drown myself and assassinate the entire town.
Some minutes later, the car itself stopped and the chofer got up from his seat, unlocking the door and opening it for the boss, being the first person to get out. His three guardbodies went out of the car as fast as they could to secure the area: a modern hotel.
The hotel was a five stars class, looking fine and elegant but the rumours about this hotel has been spreaded among the townspeople, saying that the hotel had been accepting bribery since its start and the reason was because the owner couldn't afford the taxes controlled by the corrupted men of this oh-so called ''Boss''. The boss, weeks later after the inauguration, had him for his big monopoly and to crumble to ashes this whole controlled economy was a hard task assigned to only me.
After I let out a sight, the scientist went out and I did too. My dark brown hair moved swiftly through the soft wind that surrounded the night and so my lab suit did, floating with such grace that then I decided to walk quickly, approaching them all.
While I was walking, the Boss was explaining his plan: to leave the scientist and I to mix carefully the chemicals in the basement of the hotel, guarded by one of the three guardbodies. He would be on the rooftop, enjoying the celebration of having total control over the people of Zerhaliha and their businesses.
Jaydel and I walked with the bodyguard to the hotel and instead of taking the elevator, we had the longest way to the basement: downstairs.
With each step towards the basement, I was thinking in my family... My mother and my little brother, Fallerius. I left them hidden in another city thanks to the Agency specialized in training young soldiers and protectors to take back the old and beautiful Zerhaliha, they informed me my family would had provisions and somewhere to live in peace without the Boss and his men knowing.
Adelline Nourew was dead and buried under 5 meters of earth, I decided to take in my hands this deadly mission with my false name: Mazharie Madellio. I dye my hair from purple pastel to dark brown and changed my eyes colour from green emerald to gray obscure to cover totally my real identity.
-So, Mazharie... are you prepared to create the most powerful weapon against this weak and poor city?- The scientist asked, with such an interest and a curiosity, while the bodyguard, him and I were finally on a secret lab bigger than the principal floor of the hotel.
It had a queen sized bed (which I don't question why but looks so comfortable), a long brown table full of chemistry glasses and chemicals ready to their use and the items to measure the quantity. The rest of the room looked as a living room but keeping its old style with autumn colors.
-I have never been more ready in my life.- I answer, approaching the set of chemicals and gazing at him with a evilly smile upon my face. I pushed my hair to my back and as I remembered the recipe to create the chemical weapon, I collected the necessary bottles while he was watching in awe for me being such an intelligent person (which I was obviously but he never knew my real intentions, did he?).
-I'm glad you know the necessary chemicals to do this.- The scientist was pleased to see how I was doing, while he gave me a hand.
I looked back and noticed the door was closed and perhaps the bodyguard was outside it to attend us if we wanted anything.
As I started mixing the chemicals with the measure items, Jaydel turned his back to reach out for something on the shelf and I quickly approached him, careful to not make any sound. In my tight grip, I had a good amount of chlorophyll to put him into a deep sleep and I didn't hesitate, injecting the liquid as quick as I could.
When he realized what had happened, it was far too late while he was turning around, with a furious expression all over his face.
-You filthy trait-tor... !- He attempted to choke me but I saw this coming and I managed to kick hard his face, sending him flying onto the bed.
-I might be but you will pay for treating this beautiful town just as garbage and this people being turned into your slaves.- I approached him, penetrating with my cold eyes into his dark soul, watching him pass out from the overdose I injected into his body.
I smiled and turned around, picking the bottles of different colors, leaving them in the briefcase he early left on another table. Once I had everything ready, I picked up from the floor the little injection, leaving it on my pocket inside the lab suit.
My body moved forward towards the door as I attempted to attack quietly the bodyguard but I was caught off guard as he took my left arm tight, pulling me towards himself.
-Do you have the content?- He asked me, looking serious and never letting my arm go.
-None of your business, idiot!- I pulled my right arm towards his way with force and he stopped it, growing closer me and smiling while he whispered my real name and my codename.
-Nate, for fuck's sake! You scared the heck out of me!- I shouted-whispered, mad at his actions. He let go of my arm and entwined his hand into mine, pulling me with him.
-Now's not the time to talk this here, did you left any evidence?- He and I were going upstairs, towards the lobby as I damned myself: the fingerprints I left in the chemical vessels!
-I touched the chemical vessels.- I sighed as he let out a sigh too, muttering curses under his breath.
-Mazharie, you were supposed to use the special gloves!-
-The guy was observing me all the time! I couldn't do anything.- Finally, we were on the lobby and it was clear, luckily.
-Let's go, Cerly is waiting for us in the principal street.- He comment as we ran out of the hotel, I still holding tight the chemicals in their capsules.
-That must be at... Oh no, hell no. That's too far!- I looked at him, slightly stressed and furious.
-Don't complain, Daven and their men were surrounding this street and luckily today is their party.-
-Great idea, we'll ruin their party with stealing the most powerful chemical in this world. Remind me why the entire continent won't help us...-
Once we were running into the streets, I heard bullets being shot and one grazed Nate's arm, letting out a low yelp while he pulled me in front of him, protecting me and the briefcase.
-Nate, are you okay?!- I attempted to look back and the black car from early was chasing us with their bodyguards shooting without hesitation.
-It's not problem, you keep running and I'll see how we reach for Cerly!-
Luckily, we stumbled upon another big party, watching how people were dancing on the streets. I pulled Nate towards me to keep him closer, finding my way through a bunch of people.
Sadly, Daven, codename ''The Boss'' and his men were shooting dozens of innocent people while we were running!
-Damn you, Daven!- Between drunk and passed out people, my feet were growing tired and tired from the whole running.
-AGH! N-Nate...!- I closed my eyes and yelped loudly, feeling an intense pain inside the left side of my left leg. This was definitely not one of my most successful plans...
-Keep running, Mazharie! Don't stop, we're almost there!- We turned into another street and found another black car, where men covert in black suitcases started to shoot, the bullets passing behind us and one hitting the wheel of the black car where Daven and the others were, stopping completely in the middle of the way.
-N-Nate, let's go!!- I closed my right eye from all the pain in my leg, holding tight the briefcase and pulling with me Nate, who received a second shot from Daven himself, letting out another yelp, running quickly and taking me into his arms, without warning!
-Nate!- I let out a gasp and he kept running until we arrived to the black car, Nate and I entering as the other agents were shooting at Daven, the driver finally turning on the engine of the car as we made a whole 90° lap to run off into the arms of the dark night, being safe and sound but because of Cerly's reinforcement.
I looked straight into Nate eyes and we exchanged looks, smiling painfully and both of us closing our eyes softly, completely tired and relieved. With a blurred sight and an intense pain, I started to pass out in the car, letting my body sink into the dream world to have some rest...
