Don't Wait
All his life, Sam Winchester had been ridiculed for being gay.
At school, he'd be made fun of, beat up, talked about, you name it.
His family treated him like utter shit. The only person who didn't was his older brother, Dean, since he was gay himself. And, his Uncle Bobby who had a husband named Crowley.
The only time Sam was ever at ease was when he was in another town, away from all the people who gave him hell.
He made his own money and would borrow one of his uncle's cars, and would just leave.
He would always rent a motel room for the weekend and would relax.
One day, Sam was sitting in his motel room, laptop open, and a cup of coffee next to him. He was trying to finish up an english paper his teacher had given his class to do over the weekend.
With a sigh, he finished the paragraph he was on and saved his work. He then got up and stretched. Deciding he needed to get out, he grabbed his wallet, key to get in his room, and his cup of coffee, then left his room.
After about half an hour of walking, he made it to a diner he had never been to. Humming, he walked in and found an empty table.
A nice waitress named Amara came over and took his order, then disappeared to go get his food.
Sam leaned back in his seat and looked down, waiting for his food. He was lost in his own thoughts, but was rudely pulled from them when someone sat across from him. He looked up and got met with blue eyes.
"Hello," the guy with blue eyes said with a smile.
"Um... Hi?"
"I just wanted to say, you're really cute."
Sam was taken aback. His cheeks turned a dark red as he smiled. "Th-Thank you..."
"Of course. I'm Cas."
"Sam..."
"Nice to meet you Sam."
"You too, Cas."
The two smiled at each other, then looked away once Amara sat down Sam's plate and glass. "Castiel, don't bother the nice boy."
"Aww, come on Auntie. I'm not bothering him. Am I, Sam?" Cas looked at Sam with a small smile.
Sam shook his head lightly. "No, not at all."
Amara shook her head. "Don't do anything idiotic, Cas." She walked away with a smile on her face.
Cas smiled and looked at Sam again, who still had a blush on his face. "Don't take this the wrong way, but are you gay?"
Sam gulped lightly and shrugged.
Cas suddenly got a sincere look on his face. "Sorry if it's too personal... I just wanted to know, because I am and I was going to flirt with you if you are. I didn't want to look like a fool ifyou aren't gay... or at least bi."
Sam's blush darkened again. "I... am gay," he muttered quietly.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Okay! Good!"
Sam looked up at him. "You're very straightforward... and open about being gay."
Cas smiled brightly. "So I've been told. There's nothing wrong with being openly gay."
"But, most of the world views it as unacceptable, so why put it out there?"
"One if my friends, who's gay as well, once told me, don't wait for the world to be ready. Find what you're looking for."
Sam stared at him in slight shock. "Wow..."
Cas smiled at him. "So, I'm taking his advice and trying to find what I'm looking for... And I think I found it."
