☆ KAZENOSUKE ☆

Just over two months later (September 22nd)

"Kazenosuke!" Candi Rose came over to his bed, shaking it like crazy. "Hurry up! You're gonna be late for your first day at university."

Kazenosuke was not a morning person, at all.

He was supposed to wake up like twenty minutes ago now but he didn't, because he had kept procrastinating that he wanted to sleep.

Today was his first day at university, and he honestly did not understand why he had to start there on a Friday.

It just didn't make any sense to him.

Right now it was 7:50, and Kazenosuke was really running late, but he didn't care. He had become very introverted over the past few months but he had a reason.

He wasn't even a thug anymore. He was just the quietest person ever now. One had barely even noticed him.

It was funny how much one had changed over the past few months. One could have gone from good to bad, or from bad to good. Kazenosuke was the second.

Either way, he really wasn't waking up anytime soon, and he had made it very evident in his next reply.

"What the heck, Candi Rose? Don't wake me up."

"Mum's waiting for you downstairs. The car won't drive itself. You're lucky you've already showered but you're seriously wasting time right now."

The thing was with Kazenosuke.

He had showered and everything.

But then he went back to bed.

No one knew why he had done that, but that was just the way it was. That was just the way Kazenosuke had rolled, and he didn't care who saw it.

When Kazenosuke had refused to get out of bed again, that was when his sister Candi Rose had removed his duvet cover from him, only for him to shout at her before heading downstairs once & for all.

Kazenosuke was currently 18 years old right now, and his sister was 13. She was really sweet and all, but sometimes she had really driven him round the edge.

In other words, his sister had honestly annoyed the guy so much sometimes that sometimes he had wished that he could have replaced her.

But... that was thug talk.

He wasn't a thug anymore.

He was a better person now.

Candi Rose was the only sibling Kazenosuke had had right now though, so God forbid but if anything bad had happened to her, then Kazenosuke would have been alone.

He also had his mother Castellaneta as well, but she wasn't in the best of states right now (physically and emotionally as well), with Kazenosuke realising this once he had headed downstairs after what felt like centuries but was really only like twenty minutes.

Castellaneta was an amazing mother and all but Kazenosuke was really worried about her. It was kinda like she was in the middle of life and death.

She had been visiting the hospital a lot lately because apparently she had symptoms of tuberculosis, but she didn't know if she had actually had it yet.

That was exactly why she wanted Kazenosuke to go to a nearby university, so that if Castellaneta was too emotionally unstable to look after Candi Rose, Kazenosuke could have done so instead.

"Mum, are you sure you'll be OK to drive me to university today?"

"I'll be fine, Kaz."

But it really didn't look that way though.

She was on a walking stick and she was only 50.

Candi Rose was worried about her as well.

"But you said you got tuberculosis."

"Symptoms of tuberculosis, Kazenosuke," Castellaneta had corrected him, sitting down on the dining room table and biting on an apple that she didn't wash.

But then again, she didn't have enough strength to go all the way to the sink, as it was very far away.

Symptoms of tuberculosis and having tuberculosis were basically the same thing though, weren't they?

Same difference, though.

Kazenosuke didn't want his mum to drive him to the university, but not in that way, she had just seemed way too emotionally unstable to drive him there.

He had said that he would have driven there all by himself, whilst Candi Rose had looked after her at home because she had a day off of school today because it was staff training day.

The university that Kazenosuke was going to in the first place was Cambridge because despite the guy's criminal behaviour and everything?

He was actually pretty smart, and he was a good friend too.

Apparently, Kerazin was at that university too, as well as Terrence but that was it. They were all doing the same course too: Computer Science, so hopefully they would have seen each other and everything.

As Kazenosuke hadn't really lived that far away from University of Cambridge, he was late but not that late.

Apparently, some staff member was looking for him, so when he had arrived, she had gone over to him to help him out with his things.

When Kazenosuke had seen her, he had smacked her hand really hard because he didn't like people touching his things like that.

She had apologised to him sincerely, before telling him that she could have taken his suitcase for him whilst he had gone to his class.

University hadn't actually started today, it had just started today for Kazenosuke, because his family didn't really have enough money for university yet, that was until now.

Kazenosuke had a father, but they didn't really get along much, plus he didn't even live with them, because well?

He had married someone else.

The female staff member (whose name was now revealed to be Tiffany, after Kazenosuke had seen her name tag) also had to take Kazenosuke to his room, as in his lecture room, because he was kinda late to that.

Tiffany was dark skinned with seemingly relaxed hair, and she had looked more like a flight attendant than a staff member because of the way she was dressed.

Dang, these walls are so closed up, what the fudge? Kazenosuke thought to himself as Tiffany had kept on talking and talking, but he wasn't really listening.

Kinda like that song:

Hella claustrophobic in here. What were they thinking?

Easy. They seriously weren't.

"Alright, Kazenosuke. Here's your class. Hope you enjoy it."

"Do I have to go inside?"

"Of course you have to go inside," Tiffany frowned at him, walking away. "Ain't nobody got time for stupid questions. I'll see you later."

She had also told him where his suitcase was in case she had needed it (some room near reception, Kazenosuke wasn't really listening again, Tiffany had a slightly monotonous voice in his defence to be fair), then she had gone off for good.

Kazenosuke had absolutely hated being the new kid to school.

When he had gone inside the room, everyone was literally staring at him, including the teacher herself.

What the classroom had looked like?

For a computer science class, there were no computers.

Kazenosuke had noticed Kerazin in the far distance, who had winked at him but he had said nothing else.

"Ah. You must be the new kid! I was expecting you."

"Don't call me that," Kazenosuke hissed, staring at her spitefully. "I hate that. And how do you know that?"

So maybe his thug attitude wasn't fully gone...

But Kazenosuke was in a bad mood: he didn't really want to be here to begin with, plus he was worried about his mum.

Apparently, the teacher (aka Mrs Gonzalez) knew that because Kazenosuke wasn't really following the dress code.

He didn't get a dress code.

He had gotten asked to remove his hoodie, but he had refused to do so.

Usually, Mrs Gonzalez would have yelled at people that had disobeyed her, but she had let Kazenosuke off the hook because he was new here so he didn't exactly know the way things had worked here.

It was even worse when Kazenosuke had gotten asked to go to the front and say his name in front of everyone, because even though Gonzalez knew that a new kid was coming...

She didn't know his name. Just his gender and that they were joining her class.

To keep his identity hidden, (because he had seen Destiny and he was extremely mad at her for something, but more on that later), Kazenosuke had just told everyone (like 20 people) that his name was Kaz.

Before Gonzalez had insisted him to sit next to Destiny, who was sitting on the row right in front of Kerazin and Terrence.

Apparently, Kazenosuke & Destiny were partners for their next project: which was to make a minimum 50 page PowerPoint on how social media could have been used for businesses.

Did Destiny know that Kazenosuke was Kazenosuke?

No. Not really actually.

But she was going to find out now.

Gonzalez had instructed everyone in the class to talk about what they knew about social media, and that was Destiny's chance to introduce herself to Kazenosuke.

But little did she knew that Kazenosuke had already known her... and not for good reasons anymore.

"Hey, I'm Destiny!" She beamed, putting her hand out for him to shake it. "Nice to meet you."

Kazenosuke had just stared at her hard from the corner of his eye, but he didn't say anything else.

"I already know who you are," Kazenosuke muttered through gritted teeth, annoyed at her. "And I don't shake no hands."

Destiny was beyond confused as to how Kazenosuke had known her before today.

The answer was literally right under her nose really: Kaz = Kazenosuke, but she hadn't really taken that into consideration.

She honestly had nothing to say at this point, because she was too startled to say anything.

"How do you know who I am if I've barely met you before?"

Kazenosuke gave her the dirtiest look...

Before telling her to shut up.

There was a reason he was mad at her: three reasons actually, but they were all going to be revealed soon.

Destiny had gotten so furious when Kazenosuke had told her to shut up, especially how it was for no reason, and he hadn't even known her like that to begin with.

Therefore, she had lashed out at him, not that that had made anything better because it didn't. Kazenosuke was now even more pissed at her than before, especially when she put her hand up.

"You gonna tell Mrs Gonzalez? You a snitch?"

Destiny was fuming.

"I don't know who you are, or who you think you're talking to, Kaz, but I ain't having it!"

"You have no idea what I'm going through right now, so shut the fudge up!" He hissed, standing up in front of her and yelling at her as well.

Everyone was literally staring at them right now, and unfortunately Gonzalez had left the scene to see if a computer room was booked.

Destiny had then realised that Kaz's voice was awfully familiar, thinking something.

"Hold up. Kazenosuke, is that you?"

"Yes, it is me!"

"Why are you so angry? I don't understand."

He was furious, not just angry.

He didn't reply to her, he had just stared at her like he had wanted to scream at her all over again.

"Why are you so angry?"

What he had said next had him in tears though, and Destiny felt really awful.

"Kiandre's dead!" He cried, tears filling his eyes. "And it's all your fault! That's why I'm mad at you! That stupid pepper spray you used on him caused him to be visually impaired, and it got worse because he ended up having glaucoma. He died in hospital last month!"

That shut Destiny right up for good.

"But that's not the only reason I'm pissed at you. When I asked you at Same Difference two months ago where Kiandre & Kerazin were, you said they were in the nightclub, but they went to the hospital and you knew that! I looked like a stupid person looking around for them. Are you happy, Destiny?! You killed Kiandre! Screw that.. I'm out of here!"

Kiandre's death had hurt him more because his mum might have died too, and he didn't want to live with that.

Then he had stood up to leave, Destiny calling his name, but it was too late.

He was already gone, slamming the door and he didn't look back once.

Destiny had absolutely no idea that she had killed Kiandre.

No wonder so many people were mad at her.

It all made sense now.

She had felt really guilty about it and she had hated herself for it.

She was more or less a murderer.

RIP Kiandre... you will be missed. I guess? What y'all think about his death? Lemme know in the comments.

And that reminds me. Kazenosuke is mad at Destiny because sure, she didn't know that Kiandre was going to die but at the same time, the girl seriously didn't have to pepper spray him- that wasn't right at all really.

She could have lowkey said 'Kiandre, I'm sorry but I don't want you to kiss me' but sadly she didn't do that & look where that ended up!
