chapter five

Chapter five

Ezra released into the condom out of breath as Regina laid flatly on her stomach coming down from her high. He smirked and shook his head, going to flush the condom down the toilet. Regina was already working on a nap when he came back, he laughed picking her up so they can clean their selves up.

"I'm tired." She whined as he sat her on the toilet seat.

"Go get in the shower while I clean up in a few."

"Okay." She mumbled quietly as he got her body wash and rag out the counter as she waited until he was out the bathroom to strip out of her shirt.

"I hate when you do that yo." He told her as she covered her chest while he came back in to get the Lysol wipes.

"I'm sorry." She put her head in embarrassment.

"There's nothing wrong with you, you beautiful inside and out." He told her honestly picking her head up with his finger.

Since Regina mom was so abusive, she had so many scars on her body. From cigarette burns to belt whips, even the scars of the razor she used many times adding on the pain. She hated what she went through, she just wanted her mother to be a mother to her and have the bond that she dreamed of.

"Actually you would be even better if you was yourself, you know how hurt feel so why would you make someone else feel hurt?" He asked not understanding how she was a bully.

"Can we not talk about this while I'm naked?" She asked rolling her eyes.

"Just saying, I'll be back in like three minutes." He told her leaving out leaving her to get in the shower.

He walked in his room starting to change his sheets and clean up adding Regina clothes to his dirty clothes sitting out some clean clothes for both of them. He was about to go in the bathroom when his phone chimed, he looked at the picture Haven just posted double tapping it. He smirked then walked in the bathroom stripping.

Flaire, Haven, Genesis, and Devin sat in the principal office waiting to have a meeting with the principle, Genesis was annoyed she had to be here again for one of them. Flaire on the other hand didn't care, she was 18 so she didn't even understand why they was even calling her guardian. She sighed making Genesis look over, she didn't understand why they was waiting so long if they was assigned to come this time.

"You're mad? Maybe if you go to school and do what the fuck you suppose to do you wouldn't have so many damn meetings."

"All I did was blow out breath." She waved her off.

"Oh well, it's annoying as hell coming up here every other damn day because you can't keep your mouth closed or your hands to yourself."

"People shouldn't be so stupid and they wouldn't have to deal with the consequences."

"You think you so damn tough, that's how people get killed. Sometimes you need to learn when to shut up and let shit go. Not every action needs a reaction." Devin added sensing his wife was about to blow up.

"I'm not keeping my mouth close to please anybody, fuck you mean? If somebody got something to say they could fight me and that's just how I operate. They tough enough to add their input into something, they tough enough to get beat the fuck up."

"Having that mentality really going to get you hurt one day or even worse, killed." Devin shook his head

"We all gotta die someday." She shrugged leaning back in her seat putting in her headphones.

She was tired of being talked to, she wasn't changing for anybody. It wasn't like she always wanted to fight but if somebody said or did something she didn't like then she's going to fight. If they didn't like the way she was, they could just stop talking to her. She preferred to be left alone anyways.

"That's rude as hell, don't put no damn headphones in while we're speaking to you." Genesis snapped reaching over pulling a airpod out her ear.

"Genesis I don't want to talk! If all you're going to do is preach to me about my attitude and the way I am then save it! I heard it before you say the same shit, it's just a different day. I understand, I'm not stupid I could comprehend!" She yelled aggravated gaining some attention.

"But you are! You're a senior, you think your going to walk across the stage getting suspended all the time? They can take away your accomplishment that you work so hard for just because your behavior."

"You think not walking across the stage going to hurt me? As long as I got a diploma I don't give a flying fuck. Do me a favor and not have me sitting there for almost three hours waiting to be done with this place, I would be so damn satisfied. What you mad for? It's saving you money!"

"And you say you not stupid?" Devin asked really wondering what was wrong with her.

"I really hate y'all, I can't wait until I graduate so I can fucking leave." She stood up tying her shoes.

"You can leave now, ungrateful as hell." Genesis said. "I'm not your parent, I didn't have to take you in when I did. Y'all could of been split up sitting in someones foster home but I wanted all of us together-"

"What you want a thank you for taking us in? You stay throwing this in my face, if you didn't wanna do it you didn't have to. I was going to be good either way."

"Can y'all relax? This not a conversation for outside the house." Haven stepped in not liking how business was coming out where people could overhear.

"Ven is right, we'll finish this in the house." Devin shook his head.

"Won't finish shit." Flaire looked at both of them then sat across the room putting her headphones back in turning the volume all the way up.

~

Maicee walked out the locker room annoyed since Tyke pissed her off and it was raining automatically pissing her off. She began running five laps knowing she was late, once she was done she joined the circle as Haven stood above them talking.

"So tomorrow for the competition we have three categories this time. We got the jazz one, the trio hip hop and the dance-off. The costumes is the one with the silver stuff all around, we-" Haven continued reading off the clipboard until Val interrupted.

"For the trio, did you decide who dancing with you?" She asked hoping it was her time.

"Uh, yeah I was just getting to that. It would be Sa, Mai and I." She answered as Val smiled dropped rolling her eyes.

"Can I ask why not me?" Summer asked wondering what she did wrong.

"Because your attendance, either you don't come or you're always late. When you fix that, you can have a spot." Haven asked looking at her.

"So why not me? I be here before everybody and I put in the work more than anybody." Val asked still feeling a type of way about it.

"You right, you do be here earlier and later than anybody but-"

"So then why?" She rolled her eyes harder.

"Bitch you can't dance, that's why." Mai rolled her eyes making them laugh.

"That's not true, if you couldn't dance you wouldn't be here." Haven spoke up before Val could argue back. "It's because of your spirit, everything is always about you. When we dance you always try to out dance everybody. We're a team, there should not be no hate or competition within any of us."

"I do not try to be in competition, it seems like you never notice nobody else but your friends and if that's the case you don't need to be captain." She folded her arms over her chest.

"Well then bitch you can leave, how you mad cause you not in a solo? I'm actually a captain and I didn't get picked, do you see me complaining? You asked a question and she answered, Instead of bitching and having attitudes work on being better so you can get picked next time." Mac looked at her.

"If you think you can run them better than I can then all means you can run this practice and earn your captain spot." Haven looked down at her. "And I pay attention to all of y'all, you just haven't made me look long enough."

"Okay sisss!" Sasa laughed feeling the shade.

"So anybody else have any complaints or even wanna let something off ya chest while we on it?" Haven asked looking around them. "Alright good, run the stretches Star."

Star started the countdown as they stretched like they did everyday. As they finished their stretches, the football team walked in the gym catching their attention. Haven grew confused wondering why they were in the gym, she looked for the coach and couldn't find him so she just walked to them.

"Um, who's your captain?" She asked already knowing making them stop talking as all their attention drew on them.

"That's me, wassup?" Ezra asked walking towards her.

"Why are y'all in here? This is where we practice and y'all practice on the field so?"

"Well, it's snowing out there and we only doing a light practice today so we need the gym." Nate spoke licking over his lips.

"You not even a captain, she not talking to you. This captain to captain right now, mind ya business." Mac looked at him.

"Well, this is where we practice. We have a competition tomorrow and we're not getting out." Haven stood her ground.

"We not kicking y'all out, we just want half the gym at least. We won't bother y'all, y'all don't bother us. Deal?" Ezra held out his hand.

"Deal." Haven looked at his hand and then walked away.

"Well then." Ezra pulled his hand back rubbing his head trying to play it off as they laughed. "30 walking knee hugs, 30 lateral lunges, 20 inchworms, do 20 A-Runs that way, 30 punters and 15 cariocas. 45 laps, 35 running, 10 jogging."

"Nigga you said light practice." Tyke glared at him making him laugh.

"Y'all want more? By all means let me know." He asked raising a eyebrow. "That's what I thought, go at the sound of the whistle."

He blew the whistle and all 55 of the boys started with their first stretch as did Ezra, football was his life and this was one area he didn't have time for mistakes. Everything in his life literally revolved around this sport, he even did tough practices when it wasn't his season anymore. Dedicated was an understatement.

"Summer you coming too late! Once it hit the clap clap part you do it like this, you losing your balance too much. Again." Haven said annoyed starting the count again.

Summer did it much faster making it almost perfect as Val bumped into Mac knocking her down, Haven sighed looking at them. Mac sat on the floor for a minute or two getting herself together so she won't snap on her.

"What is wrong? Y'all had this routine down pack for two days and today y'all just messing up? Wassup?" Haven asked confused then looked ahead. "Is it because the football players?"

"You know it is, they wanna be acting shy around them like these niggas could do something for them." Mai rolled her eyes drinking her water.

"Well, if y'all can't practice in front of people then maybe you don't need to be on this team. I plan on taking us big places and if you can't show how much you want it because boys who aren't even paying any attention to y'all are present then y'all can just leave now."

"How about we just work on our trio then go into the jazz part and then back to the hiphop?" Sasa suggested.

"Yeah, imma get the iPad." Haven nodded running to her bag as Adonis smiled going towards her.

"Wassup H?" He asked smirking as she turned around to give him a hug.

"Hey Adonis." She smiled.

"I took some glances of y'all out there, y'all looking good." He complimented making her smile.

"Thank you, we try to be the best we can."

"Yeah, I wanted to ask you-"

"66 is this helping you throw? Is talking going to help you catch the damn ball you always seem to drop? Can Haven help you pick your jaw off the ground when we lose our damn game tomorrow because you got distracted and couldn't catch the ball? 5 more laps for being distracted let's go!" Ezra yelled blowing the whistle as the football players laughed making Adonis glare at him for embarrassing him.

"I'll call you." Adonis mumbled going to do the laps.

"Didn't you say no distractions from both parts?" Ezra smirked going up to her.

"Didn't you say five more laps for being distracted?" She asked looking through her bag for the iPad.

"What's with the hostility Haven? Ever since we traded phones you been distant like we didn't decide on being friends since we found out we had each other phone."

"If we were friends, you would of spoke to me or even show a bit of interest."

"You right but I'm speaking to you now."

"Well I have practice and so do you." She brushed past him making him reach out to grab her hand and turn her around.

"If I call you tonight, you'll answer?" He asked licking his lips making her attention go to his lips.

"Call and see." She lowkey smirked moving her hand out of his.

"E, taking ya girl." Tyke laughed looking at Ezra and Haven smirking. The boys around him started laughing clowning on Adonis as he grew jealous but didn't let it show.

"I got her wrapped around my finger, he not taking nothing." Adonis smirked lying through his teeth.

"Righttt." Keygen nodded laughing knowing he was lying.

"Alright, so we going to go change into our outfit that we going to perform in." Sasa announced as Mai and Haven followed them into the locker room.

They all went opening the back door which held all their costumes, Haven gave them the costume which had their name on it. It was a sparkly white and black one piece with strings hanging from it which also had their team name on it.

"My ass going to be hanging out this." Mai spoke laughing as she took off her clothes to put it on.

"Take off your bra, you can't wear it with that." Sasa spoke taking hers off.

"Your boobs so perky." Haven complimented making Mai look at her breast.

"You don't even need to wear a bra bitch." Mai spoke shaking her head.

"Bitch you don't either." Sasa laughed.

"Aight but let's talk about more important things, sis you peeped?" Mai asked as Sasa and her had identical smirks.

"OH, I definitely peeped." Sasa and Mai both sipped their imaginary tea.

"What are y'all talking about?" Haven asked looking at her butt in the mirror.

"You and Ezra, sissss." Mai dragged out making them laugh.

"Ezra was the one who had my phone and I had his, there's nothing more to it."

"Let us sip our tea!" Mai yelled holding out her pinky.

"Yeah, whatever let's go." Haven laughed.

They walked out making the girls clap at how good their costumes looked on them, Haven smirked and connected the iPod to the speakers in the gym. She clicked the song Trey Songz "Na Na" and got in position putting on her natural face. She looked to her left and right making sure Mai and Sasa was in position.

"Put ya hands in the air, oh Na Na look what you done started." The music started as Haven started them off.

They were moving in sync and looked perfect, there was no mistakes made. Haven stopped to look at Sasa and Mai making sure they remained perfect, she smiled satisfied at them. She nodded her head putting her hands on her hip watching them until the song went off, they cheered laughing.

"Alright, we gon run through it now. Press play!" Haven yelled to Summer as she turned the music louder and replayed it.

Once the song played it caught Ezra attention as he looked over at Haven just as she started dancing, he watched her move in fascination. The fact he wasn't paying attention made him get hit in the face with the football, even then he still put his attention back on her. The football players stopped to watch them also in lust and admiration.

Haven felt eyes on her and she looked straight ahead and as she suspected the football players were looking, she turned around and dipped down as did Sasa and Mai. She smiled at the fact that they were keeping up and she continued being focus.

She turned back around and made eye contact with Ezra, she was looking directly at him as he did the same. In his mind, she was dancing just for him and he ain't want nobody else looking at her. He smirked making her smile and roll her eyes as he threw a light chuckle, Tyke and Keygen peeping started smirking.

"Me and Mai beefing but I'm bout to apologize now. I love you baby!" Tyke yelled making them laugh as the song went off.

"A whole clown." Keygen laughed.

After thirty more minutes of them going through everything again, practice was finally over. They was in the locker room getting dress so they can go home joking and laughing with each other. When they was dressed Haven made sure everything was locked up and she was good to go, she walked in the gym making sure she didn't leave anything and then tried to catch up with Val.

"Val!" She called out to her just as she was about to get in Summer car.

"Wassup Ven?" Val asked leaning on the car.

"In practice, I do notice you so I don't ever want you to feel like I don't." She spoke honestly. "If you wanted, I could help you one on one so you can get picked next time."

"Yeah, that sound like a good idea. Thank you Haven."

"You welcome." Haven smiled going to Mai car.

~

Indigo laughed trying to stop Sevyn as he held her down tickling her, she was damn near yelling trying to be free. She hated to be tickled, Sevyn held down her hands laughing at her pain. She finally gained a advantage kicking him in his chest as he fell back.

"Alright, you win." She threw her hands in surrender laughing.

"You play so much, I know your weakness now."

"No you don't, big headed bastard."

"Oh word?" He raised a eyebrow smirking.

"Sevyn, I'm not-" She got cut off from him tackling her on the bed holding her hands down punching her softly as she wiggled under him.

"Seyvn, your father- oh." His mother said busting in his room then stopped once she noticed him on top of the teenage girl.

"Wassup ma?" He asked letting Indigo go and standing up looking at his mom.

"Your father wanted to know what you wanted for dinner, I said chicken and shrimp Alfredo while he want steak and potatoes."

"Steak and potatoes does sound tempting right now."

"You a damn traitor and to think I spent 14 hours in labor pushing your big headed ass out my vagina and what your father do? Faint at the sight of ya ugly ass."

"Aight ma, you showing off." Sevyn laughed as Indigo low-key died.

"You so damn rude, who is this?"

"Hi, I'm Indigo." She held out her hand for his mother to shake.

"My girlfriend." Sevyn added smirking making his mother raise a eyebrow.

"Girlfriend? And how long have this been going on?"

"We been dealing with each other for around a year now but I officially made her my girlfriend around two months ago."

"A whole year and we never met her? Hm." She glared at her son. "I'm Tasha, are you staying for dinner?"

"No, I don't want to interfere."

"Oh please interfere, I hope you not allergic to shrimp." She tried to throw in leaving out.

"We said steak!" Sevyn yelled after her as she laughed.

"Sevyn!" Indigo streaked hitting him repeatedly making him block her hits.

"Aye girl, stop." He grabbed her hand.

"You told me your parents wasn't getting back until 7." She glared. "I didn't wanna meet them like this."

"It's 7:20 pretty girl." He pointed to the digital clock. "It's nothing wrong, you had to meet them sooner than later. Guess today is sooner."

"I already sensed the shade, what if they don't like me?"

"So? They don't have to like you as long as they respect you and our relationship, their opinion don't matter babygirl." He kissed her hand smiling.

"Where's Duece?" Di asked referring to his older brother.

"He should be just getting off work, don't worry baby I got you." He smiled kissing her as she nodded.

~

Maicee walked in the house seeing Mac on the phone with somebody, she rolled her eyes knowing she was on the phone with one of her ho's. Mac looked at her twin noticing something was wrong with her, she put the phone on hold looking at her going through the mail.

"Stop looking at me." Mai simply said still going through the mail.

"I ain't looking at you, I'm looking past you." Mac smirked.

"Don't look in my direction then."

"Who pissed in your bundles?"

"Bitch, that would be the day somebody really dies." She stopped to laugh.

"What's wrong with you though?"

"The normal, Tyke pissing me off."

"I guess it would be a bad time to tell you he upstairs then huh?" Mac asked making Mai damn near snap her neck to look in her direction.

"Bitch, why would you let him in? You know damn well I'm not talking to his tall ugly ass."

"Mommy let him in." Mac threw her hands up in surrender.

"Imma beat her old ass up." Mai mumbled knowing their mother had some type of super hearing and she would of heard her.

"That's one person you will never beat." Mac laughed. "Well besides me."

"Bitch please, you're MY little sister. The day I allow my little sister to beat me up I might as well pack it up.

"Consider it packed and loaded bitch, I couldn't beat you when we was younger but I got height and weight on you now."

"Yeah aight little bitch." Mai laughed. "Who you onna phone with?"

"Nate retarded ass."

"Y'all still doing y'all bet? It seem like you losing the way he got you smiling." Mai smirked.

"Catching feelings is like getting Ebola, that shit deadly girl." Mac waved her off making Mai laugh.

"Yeah whatever, let me go put this boy out."

"More like he bout to put his kids in your mouth." Mac joked making both of them laugh.

"You tried it hoe."

Mai walked up the stairs slowly still sore from dance practice. Once she finally made it to her room, she sighed opening the door. The light was off and Tyke was knocked out laying on his back with one arm covering his face and one leg hanging off the bed.

Mai took a picture then got her stuff ready for her shower, she saw Tyke dirty clothes in her bin letting her know he took a shower so she didn't have to wake him up. She moved around quietly gathering everything for her shower then turning the light back off so he won't wake up since he looked so tired.

After her shower, he was still sleep making her roll her eyes, she put on some lotion and deodorant then went downstairs to find something to eat. To her surprise, the doorbell was just ringing. Mac ran to get it coming back with food in her hand making Mai smile since she didn't really feel like cooking.

"Where this from? You ordered me something?" She asked.

"Yeah ma ordered you a grilled chicken salad and Tyke that meat lovers pizza with a side of hot wings for both of y'all from that place down the street."

"Larry's?" Mai asked smiling.

"Yeah."

"I'll bring her food to her."

"Nah, I'll do it cause I gotta give her back her change."

Mai nodded grabbing the bag along with two cups and the two litter fruit punch juice, she managed to bring everything upstairs without dropping it making her cheer in her head. She sat everything on the side of her bed calling Tyke name to wake him up, when he didn't wake up after the second time she called him she took off her house shoes and straddled his waist.

"Tyke wake up." She started moving his head around until his eyes fluttered open.

"When you get here?" His raspy voice asked still with his eyes closed.

"I've been here for like forty minutes now, took a shower and all."

"Aight." He mumbled falling back to sleep making her squish his face to wake up again. "I'm tired baby."

"I know but you gotta eat, I know you ain't eat nothing and then you went to football practice. After you eat, you could go back to sleep."

He opened his eyes and sighed, he sat up with Mai still in his lap. He turned on the t.v going to ESPN watching his favorite team, the New York Giants, old games that he recorded. He grabbed the box of pizza and scarfed down two slices in a quick second making Mai scrunch her face up.

"Chew before you choke dummy."

"Why I gotta be dumb though?" He asked laughing. "I'm spending a night?"

"I don't know, ask mommy."

"MAAAA!" He yelled making her smack him in his mouth.

"I meant go in her room and ask dumb ass." She said moving off his lap to unlock her door knowing her mother was going to come in.

"You didn't say that though."

"What she doing to you? Mai you better not be fighting my lil boo." She asked coming in the room leaning on the door.

"More like what he be doing to me, you think he such a little angel."

"I just know you, I know how the hell you are."

"Anyways." Mai playfully rolled her eyes.

"I could stay the night ma?" Tyke asked swallowing his pizza.

"Chew your food before you choke."

"Literally just told him that." Mai stood up laughing.

"Why you even asking? You damn near live here, just let ya mother know."

"So Nate could spend the night?" Mac asked peeping her head in the room.

"No." Mai, Tyke and their mother said in unison.

"Was not talking to the peanut gallery." Mac put her hand out. "Why can't he spend the night if Tyke can?"

"Because that's not your boyfriend-"

"Tyke not Mai boyfriend either." Mac cut her off.

"Yes I am." Tyke looked at her.

"No your not." Mai laughed eating her salad.

"Yeah alright." Tyke laughed.

"Anyways, mommy?"

"Tyke been around for like five years now, I know him and his family personally. I also know they won't disrespect me by over stepping their boundaries while I'm a few doors down, do I need to go on?"

"Aight, I respect it. I'm sleeping with you though." Mac smiled hugging their mom before running out the room.

"Can't stand that little girl."

"Mommy, you coming to the competition tomorrow? I get a solo with Sasa and Ven." Mai smiled.

"I'll try baby, no promises though."

"Alright." She sighed with her smile dropping picking through her salad.

"Goodnight baby girl and Tyke, I love y'all."

"Love you too." Mai stated dryly.

"I love you too, goodnight ma." Tyke went to hug her then closed the door. "You good?"

"Yeah, it's whatever." She shrugged.

"You know if she could, she would be there Mai." He tried to make her feel better.

"I said I was good, you don't have to make excuses. It's not like imma cry about it." She snapped looking at him pushing back the tears that was forming.

"Alright baby." He took her food from her hand and put it on the dresser along with his food pulling her in his arms. "It's okay not to be so tough all the time, you can cry."

"No I can't." She mumbled wrapping her arms around him tighter as he kissed her forehead then got up to turn off the light.

"Let's watch Bring it On Again." He suggested knowing that was her favorite movie and that'll cheer her up.

"Okay." She smiled as he predicted.

~

"So Indigo, how did you and my son meet?" Sevyn dad, Desean, asked after chewing his food.

"Well, I knew Sevyn since I was a freshmen cause you know we go to the same school." She lightly chuckled. "We didn't officially have a conversation until our classes merged together and he needed help on a problem and I was the only one who knew the answer."

"I thought you was younger than him." Deuce said drinking his soda.

"I am, I'm in the 10th grade. I take all AP classes." She said making his parents both choke on their drink.

"Apologies, you said 10th? How old are you 15/16?" His dad asked.

"I'm 16." She nodded.

"You do know how old Sevyn is right? And what grade he's in?"

"He's 18 in the 12th grade." Indigo looked at him blankly not seeing his point.

"You acting like he in college talking to a little girl, they still in high school. She only two years younger, calm down." Deuce looked at his father in annoyance.

"Do you know after high school, he's going to college? Most long distance relationships don't work out. He would be too busy to think about you and you'll still be wondering should you put blue or red glitter on your face." His father spoke referring to the cheer leading uniform she had on.

Everybody looked as they all grew quiet, Sevyn looked at his father then smacked his teeth. He always just had to say some shit, he was about to say something but before he did Indigo held up her hand.

"Well, I believe in us. If we do suddenly break up because it's too much then I'll continue being his friend to motivate him as I'm doing now. Nothing will change, I was his friend before his girlfriend." Indigo spoke making Sevyn grab her hand and his mother smiled liking her answer.

"You lucked up little brother, most girls my age still don't got it together like she do." Deuce smirked knowing his father didn't have a comeback.

"You're beautiful inside and out, I like her." His mother spoke looking at them.

"Good, cause I love her." Sevyn spoke kissing her on her cheek.

"I love you more." She smiled. "Oh, Mr.Desean blue."

"Excuse me?" He asked tilting his head.

"I don't ever wonder if I should choose between blue or red glitter, it's always red."

Deuce coughed up his soda as he covered his mouth while Sevyn and his mom lowly chuckled, nobody ever made him silent.

Indigo smiled knowing she won this round.

~

Haven woke up from her nap going downstairs going downstairs as she smelt food, she looked in the kitchen to see Genesis, Alana, Devin and Flaire sitting around the dinner table in silence besides Alana baby noises. She went to go make her plate then sitting at the table hoping that the awkwardness pass but it never did.

"Flaire, what do you wanna do after high school?" Devin asked looking at her.

"Undecided."

"Do you have a passion or something you love doing? What's your plans once you graduate?" Genesis asked.

"Imma be a stripper for a while." She said making Haven choke from laughing. "Imma slowly come up like M I crooked letter crooked letter I crooked letter crooked letter-"

Haven cut her off from busting out laughing, she even spit up some juice on the floor while trying to get herself together.

"No the hell you not." Genesis snapped.

"Why not? They make enough money." She shrugged.

"You don't know what happens behind the scenes."

"I watched the Player's Club, I'm good."

"This should not be funny." Devin said as he and Haven both laughed.

"Okay say you do go into stripping and find out it's not for you then what?" Genesis asked.

"Then I'll quit."

"It's not even funny, I want you to be something but I can't help you if you don't want to be helped."

"Help me with what Genesis? You annoying as hell, I want to be a ultrasound technician. I know what college I'm going to, I know everything to get me there to make that step. I'm not stupid damn!"

"That's all you had to say, always tryna argue."

"You gon stop cursing and yelling at my wife little nigga." Devin mushed her head making all of them laugh.

"Your wife annoying as hell."

"That's just because she wanna see y'all doing better than us, y'all have better resources and a better support system than we did growing up. Y'all should be thankful for that."

"I am thankful, I appreciate everything y'all do for me but every time something doesn't go y'all way y'all don't have to remind me what y'all do for me. That's being a Indian giver and it's also annoying as hell."

"We'll work on it then." Devin nodded making Genesis agree.

"What about you Haven? What you wanna be?" Genesis asked.

"Right now, I want to take up dancing but I'm trying to think of a back up plan, I think I want to be a vet." She spoke with a smile.

"Then I believe in you, I believe in all of y'all."

"Speaking of, are y'all coming to my competition?" She asked with hope.

"Of course." Flaire said speaking for all of them.

"Okay." She smiled just as her phone rung, she looked down at the caller ID debating whether to answer or not. "Can I be excused?"

"Go head."

She grabbed her phone and jogged up the stairs, once she caught her breath she answered the phone waiting for him to say something. She scrunched her face up hearing yelling and gunshots.

"Uh, hello?" She asked softly.

"Oh I ain't even know you answered, wassup?" His deep voice said.

"What's all that noise in the background?"

"I'm kicking Nate and Keygen ass in Call of Duty." He laughed.
