Chapter 4
'The only thing
keeping me sane
is escaping reality.'
"Isla you need to run. My wolf has taken over and this is taking all my energy just to talk to you. She's taking me to the pack house. RUN!"
But being the stupid girl she is, she doesn't. She shakes her head and runs with me towards the familiar pack house.
My wolf howls in delight in my mind and the smell of nature fills my nostrils. Oh no. CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! He's close. He's so close.
I hear a growl followed by a howl from the pack house and I finally take control, running away from the pack house, from my mate.
Isla let's a breath out in relief and slows down, her energy being used. She's getting tired.
She turns around and screams. I know I can't turn around. I know if I turn around, I'll never be able to leave.
"What is it? Why did you scream? Calm down, they won't get to us!"
She looks at me panting before she speaks.
"It's the Alpha. It's definitely the Alpha. And his Beta and Delta. And warriors. So many warriors. They're following us. I know they are!"
She looks at me and whispers in fright. "One of them is your mate isn't it?" She gulps slightly and speeds up to match my pace.
Looking at her frightened face, I give her a three word answer. An answer that leaves her in more shock than she already is.
"Yes, the Alpha."
We reach a pond and I breathe out in relief. I shift into wolf form and let Isla wander into the river, swimming a bit.
The woods stretched for miles. I remember at least that from the last time I was here. When my life was worse than it is now. The glistening river I would bathe myself in shines and I smile.
I stay in wolf form, bathing myself like old times. But I smell it. Him. The luscious smell of nature at its finest fills my nostrils and I'm swimming. Away from it. Water covers scents and that's my saviour right now.
Because he can never know.
"Do you smell him Quinn? I can feel the power literally radiating off him."
I get out of the river, shifting back to me and wearing clothes, drying myself of with the same old manly towel.
"Yes. I can. Of course I can." I lightly shove her behind a huge rock and I join her.
She puts her old clothes on, not knowing what to change into. We both snack on an apple each before I brush of my clothes and get up.
"I can't stay here anymore. We have to leave."
My wolf howls in happiness for some reason and my heart beats faster.
"Leaving so soon?"
I gulp, the deep voice echoing in my ears. Isla faces away from him, looking at me I fear. She grasps for my hand and whimpers slightly. Her palms are sweaty and she tightens her fingers around mine, curling them around my own as a type of protection.
"Turn around."
The simple action that is normally so easy is so hard. So I don't turn. I don't turn around, still facing the river.
He growls at the disrespect. "Turn around!" The power of his status in the two simple words makes Isla turn around. But Isla's not the one he wants.
I don't turn. After being on the run for so long, I adapted myself to not do anything said by an Alpha.
"TURN AROUND!"
The urgency in his voice makes my wolf howl, giddy. But I shut out my wolf and flip him off.
Isla giggles at this and I smile at her giggle.
Sparks erupt on my shoulders and I'm spun around, facing the man I tried so hard to get away from.
I step back out of instinct, shoving Isla behind me. "You."
I nod slightly when he says this. Because he knows who I am. He saw me 3 years ago, in a kitchen.
I don't reply, not wanting him to hear my voice.
Is that Alpha Silas?
I jump slightly at the voice in my mind, looking at Isla. She smiles at me, showing me her white teeth. She trusts me enough to mind link me. Aww.
Yes.
"Why aren't you speaking?"
I look back at the impatient Alpha, staring straight at me. I step back and he steps forward. I step back and he steps forward.
I lose my footing and go straight underwater head first in the river. Oh shizzle.
Water immediately surrounds me, blurring my vision and causing my eyes to burn in irritation and I cough multiple times before finally finding the effort to get up.
I sit up, breathing in the oxygen and quickly get the hair tie out of my hair. My hair drips wet around my shoulders and the shirt sticks to me.
Isla grabs me and helps me up. Well my mate could've stopped me from falling but no. I roll my eyes and try to unstick the very see through shirt from my body.
Isla clears her throat and the Alpha finally stops staring and glaring at me. "We are just passing through, we don't mean to interrupt anything."
I nod with her, my hand on my dagger.
"We should probably leave now." She picks up my bag and gives it to me. I carry it, walking away.
"No. You will not leave my territory. You're coming with me."
Isla tries to pull me and run but he grabs me, carrying me bridal style.
I shot my backpack at Isla. "RUN! Go! Remember what I told you!"
She looks at me one last time, a tear slipping down her rosy cheeks. She tries to run but the Beta comes, grabbing her.
We all smell her fear and I shout. "Let me go!"
I try moving and shaking my way out. The Beta punches Isla and I scream.
"Get off her! Don't touch her! Don't you dare. I will kill you!"
My mate looks at me, pride shining in his eyes. My wolf swoons but I curse multiple times.
I widen my eyes at my mate. "Please. Let me at least be with her."
He growls at me and grips tighter. I growl louder at him, trying to fight him. His eyes shine as his wolf tries to come out.
"You will not!"
I scoff and feel the white hot anger spreaf through my body as my wolf feels the need to protect.
Growling louder, I claw him with my extremely sharp nails. He drops me on the floor in shock, shifting into his wolf. His black wolf stand tall and he growls at me.
I run from him, slipping from the impact. I grab Isla and cradle her in my arms. She whimpers and touches her stomach, hissing at the same time.
She looks at me. "He's my mate." She whispers the three words before blacking out and I growl loudly, the woods echoing my angry growl.
My eyes shine as I howl loud, in absolute rage. I stare at the Beta with a a death glare, ready to attack. He looks slightly scared, showing his neck in submission.
A growl is heard behind me and I turn around on the verge of shifting. My wolf already loves Isla's wolf and she's angry, ready to murder.
I shift and Raven takes over, snarling at her mate.
It's his fault. He should've let me go to her.
I move back, watching Raven. She pounces, aiming for the underbelly. She growls, snapping her teeth at any skin she can.
She claws him, but he stands over her, caging her. He growls, biting her neck. Marking my wolf.
He grabs her with the same mark and drags her whilst the Beta carries Isla.
She continues to try but she grows weaker and he continues to bite at the mark. She whimpers and pushes me forward, hiding herself in the corner of my mind. I look at him through my wolves' eyes.
He knows it's me and let's go. I roar like a lion, and howl in sadness. He's marked me without my permission.
He's marked her? Her or her wolf? Let me clarify, he's marked her wolf but in my story, marking a wolf is as big as a deal as marking the human.
Oooooh, she's going to hate him even more.
How is she going to get revenge?
How do you think she should get revenge?
What's your opinion on Silas? Because frankly, I'm hating on him right now. What a freak.
