2: I learn about the universe
♠~•Percy•~♠
Chaos and I rematerialized in a huge library that would've made Annabeth drool with awe. I wasn't a fan of books, not just because I can't read english, but because they're just plain boring (I don't know what Annabeth sees in books but I'm not the one to judge, she did fall in love with me). Just thinking about the girl I love makes me feel homesick, I was really having doubts joining Chaos's army.
Chaos probably read my mind once again, "I notice your discomfort. You are missing your home, yes?"
"I thought you stopped reading my mind once I got here."
"Oh no, I'm not reading your mind. It's just your body language, your posture, the look in your eyes, even the tone of your voice. We'll fix that later, for now, I'll let you ask me three questions."
"Why three?"
"I still need to teach you the history of Ende, as well as the various languages, races and cultures found here. After that, I have to take you to the Higher Parliament and you still have a lot to learn."
I thought for a moment, I had a billion questions to ask him, like Can a human being eat ten blue pancakes under ten seconds? If I throw a cat into a river, does that make it a catfish? But I decided to set those questions aside for later, I had to ask the more serious questions first (even though I wanted to ask those questions first).
"Before we left earth, you mentioned a prophecy. What is that Prophecy about?" Chaos's eyes darkened, "I... I cannot tell you, yet. Next question, two questions left." I knew it was an unsuccessful attempt to get information about the prophecy, but it was worth the try. "Fine, will I still be able to visit earth?"
"No, unless I send you on a mission on earth, which will be unlikely. I don't send any missions unless it is absolutely necessary. Next question, last question."
"Are they angry at me?"
"...No, they're grieving for you. The news broke your mother and stepfather's hearts, your little sister, still too young to fully understand the cruelty of the universe, is confused why her big brother is never coming back. Both camps are holding a tribute for you, retelling your tales and quests, singing songs of your glory. Your close friends and acquaintances are weeping, and your girlfriend, she's not accepting the fact that you're gone. Your father, he is grieving for you. No matter what you did, you still caused them heartbreak and pain, I'm so sorry. That is all I could tell you, for now."
I didn't speak for a while. I was hurting them, breaking their hearts. I didn't want to cause them pain in the first place, yet I still ended up hurting them. "I can't blame them for grieving for me. This is my choice after all, I ran away from my problems, running away from the ones I love as well."
I felt ashamed, how could I leave them? I mean, I would have only received eternal punishment if I stayed, but I'd still hurt them either way. For the first time in a long time, I felt weak, I was a coward, I can't face my own problems.
Chaos sighed, "Why don't we start with our history lesson? Time is not patient, that bastard."

We sat in the library for several hours, discussing the history of Ende. I was about to die of boredom when Chaos finally thought that it was time to call it a day. "I have to take you to the Higher Parliament, they are to decide your position in the army. Unfortunately, I cannot tutor you after this, Percy. I am a busy man, running the universe and all." he chuckled lightly, "If you are in need of information, feel free to visit the library whenever you wish."
But I can't read.
"Don't worry, the books will translate themselves to your comfort." he added, I raised a questioning eyebrow. He cleared his throat, "Uh, anyway. Higher Parliament, we must go." he offered his hand. I barely touched the skin when we were sucked into another vortex.
If it weren't for Chaos's strong grip on my arm, I would've landed on my face. "Lord Chaos," a voice boomed above me, I raised my gaze and saw four people, two were men wearing long cloaks and two were women wearing silk chitons. They regarded me with their piercing eyes, making me feel a bit uneasy. "Is this another recruit you have brought before us?" one of the men said, his blood red irises glowed like lava. "Yes, in fact, this is the boy that I have mentioned to you a few years ago."
"Perseus Jackson? Son of Poseidon, am I right?" one of the women exclaimed, her golden eyes shone with curiosity. "Yes, it is him. I rescued him from unfair judgement on Olympus. Lad, be a dear and tell them how you wound up being judged unjustly."
I froze up, but reluctantly told them my story. The four of them listened intently, and when I finally finished my story, they turned away from us and spoke in hushed tones. They turned around almost simultaneously, "Lord Chaos, we have decided. This boy is not fit for the army."
My jaw dropped.

The deafening crack of the doors made Zeus jump. His brother, Poseidon, stood there, eyes glowing with anger. "ZEUS!!!" He marched up to the god and socked him in the face. The Olympians gasped, fearing another war between the two brothers was upon them. Poseidon kept on beating Zeus, who did not do anything to stop his brother's punches.
"POSEIDON STOP!" Hera screeched as she tried to pry away the angry god from her husband, Apollo and Ares restrained Poseidon but both were struggling because of the god's strength. Hera dragged Zeus away from his brother, his face decorated with bruises and his nose was bleeding with ichor. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM?!" Poseidon asked through his teeth, the two gods restraining him were assisted by Dionysus (who was called to Olympus for numerous reasons), he wrapped thick grapevines around the enraged god's feet, pinning him to the ground.
"I only did what I had to brother, he would've been much too powerful." Zeus replied weakly, by this time, Hades had already went to his brother's side, offering a napkin to the sky god. "Poseidon, he was not killed. He...ran away." his gaze fell to the floor. As much as Hades wanted to tell his brother what truly happened to his son, he couldn't. Chaos made sure that they all swore on the river Styx, making the promise unbreakable.
"He...what?" Poseidon calmed down, but he was still being restrained. "He ran away, brother. He is still alive." The sea god fell on his knees, the gods restraining him released him. "Where...where is he then?" Poseidon asked, anger sparking in his eyes once again. "We...we don't know. He ran away from the throne room, before we could even catch up with him, he disappeared. We concluded that he jumped off Olympus, but that was unlikely. I don't feel his soul in the Underworld, so he is still alive, but missing." Hades explained.
"Your son is much more powerful than you know, Poseidon. That was why Zeus decided to... eliminate him." Hera said, obviously not carefully choosing her words. Poseidon gritted his teeth, "That was the reason why you wanted to kill my son? That was the reason why you restrained me in my palace, so you could kill him without me even knowing? For eons we have lived, haven't any of you learned anything?" Poseidon gripped his palms until they were bleeding with golden ichor.
"I am going to admit that I am flawed, that I have made mistakes, but I have learned from those errors I made in the past. But why can't you?" he turned away from the council, "If you all can't admit your mistakes, then don't expect anything from me. I'm not going to help Olympus anymore, remove me from the council if you want, destroy my throne here, for all I care. Don't come into my realm unless you have found Perseus, or want war with me." Poseidon turned around and glared at the Olympians, "As of now, you aren't my family. Not anymore."
He evaporated into the air and left the confused and afraid Olympians in the throne room.

Chiron sighed sadly, the news that Dionysus broke to him didn't help with the headache he had. The wine god offered the centaur a diet coke, "Well, we're better off with that brat." he sipped his can, turning away from the centaur. "Dionysus, you don't don't have to say that. I know that you didn't want any of this to happen."
"Of course I didn't." the god stood up from his chair, he gazed at the campers from the big house. "Don't you think that I'm just another heartless god, uncaring if one of these demigods are dead?"
"Dionysus-"
"I may not show it, but I care about these brats. I have been around long enough to watch young lifelines end so quickly, at first it hurt, but it became a norm and I was hardened." the can in his hands disappeared in a puff of smoke, "Every death of a demigod hurts me, it makes me realize that these children are as special as the gods but are just as fragile as humans."
"Anyway," Dionysus coughed, "when are you planning on telling them the news?" He asked. Chiron set down the can he was offered, unopened. "I suppose later after dinner. I'm sure that they wouldn't be happy of the unfortunate news that I have for them."
The two of them were silent for quite a while, until Chiron broke the silence. "Say, Dionysus. Why was Percy called to Olympus in the first place? You haven't told me yet."
"I can't. I swore on the River Styx that I cannot talk about that matter anymore."
Chiron stayed silent, then he sighed. "It's almost dinnertime, we need to go. You need to be there as well, Dionysus. It would be for the best if you explained to them what happened to Perseus."
"Whatever."
Oh, look. A chapter shorter than the last one. Yay.
