Time on My hands
Sitting in my easy chair
I looked at 'things' around me
everywhere
Things collected through the years
Things we couldn't part with
it appears
A lot, I think we'd both agreed
Were things we really didn't
'need'
Yet here they sit, each in their place
Doing nothing more than
taking space
The kids will want them I hear myself say
But I know darn well
that'll be the day
Sure, a few items here and there
But for the rest
no one will care
All these things I've treasured so
In the end
where will they go?
